The Comfort Authority
Company Overview
We realize you put in effort to establish a comfortable home, but sometimes what you can do isn't enough to reach the comfort you desire you rightfully deserve. The factors that are hidden, touch, or buy at a store frequently contribute to the ambiance of a home. Here is the point at which The Comfort Authority comes into play. Our professionals is trained and licensed to assess your whole property to find the root cause of the problems you encounter that hinder you in achieving the comfort you long for. We will not rest until you are content.
The Comfort Authority might not exist without being let go. I held notable experience in the Air Force, a major home improvement retailer, and the woodworking business. As the building industry was facing challenges, I looked for a job in the cooling industry and joined the team. I climbed the ranks to a leadership position and gained a wealth of knowledge along the way. Then, I faced an unexpected termination. To summarize, The Comfort Authority was created.
To thrive in business, it is essential to do everything possible to satisfy the expectations of your clients as well as maintaining our principles. Occasionally, clients request to carry out tasks without permits, to charge less than what is feasible, or to deliver unrealistic tasks. We will not compromise. It’s not always simple, yet it is the way to retain clients and build a successful company. Lower standards creates frustrated clients and staff, which is not a viable method to operate.
We have happy clients, and we accomplished while upholding our core values, and I take great pride in that.

Thank you everyone for your great reviews! You were 100% on with this review! I'm so glad I used Yelp! Great service, very polite, neat, kind, and hard working. I loved that they even explained in detail what needed to be done and I'm a woman btw! Even down to the return call, and repair on a Friday evening. I would strongly recommend this company to anyone! Thank you Yelp!

The Comfort Authority Date of Install: 9/14/2023, Date of Review: 9/16/2023 Bottom Line Up Front: Very happy with the entire transaction from the initial contact, to the sales tech visit to the installation experience. Would confidently recommend The Comfort Authority for those wanting to replace their HVAC system. (Side note: TCA is a Seminole Heights company and has lots of experience with the homes in this area). Positives: Very friendly, professional and upfront interactions Low pressure sales focused on what the house really needed Installation crew was very friendly, professional and respectful of the property Observations: Would have been beneficial to have an expectation of the install time prior to the day of install General Commentary: We were replacing our HVAC system not of necessity but because we knew the existing equipment was very old (12+ years) and wanted to get ahead of any emergencies. This allowed my to take my time, do a lot of my own research and set up 5 company visits to our home and present their quotes. I selected the five based on what their online reviews (Google, Yelp and BBB) stated, the brands they carried and their websites themselves. The Comfort Authority was number 4 of 5. When I called TCA, the representative (I've forgotten her name) was super friendly and energetic. After explaining what I was interested in, she quickly found me an available time slot for a sales rep to meet with us. This first engagement was very customer friendly. The sales rep, Derek, arrived on time with a text sent in advance which included a quick bio about him. To keep this concise, the thing that impressed me most about Derek's visit was that his first focus was on what was the best option for our 70+ year old, very inefficient home rather than what the highest end options might be. Before he even took a look at the house or the existing system, he sat down at our kitchen table and listened to what our current situation and concerns were. From my research, I figured I would need at larger unit that was either duel stage or inverter technology. After reviewing the situation, Derek actually recommended a less sophisticated (though still vastly better) product than the existing A/C than I thought we would need. He also made sure the unit met the qualifications for the Federal tax credit. Within a couple of hours, I had a quote that was better than I expected - and could have been lower if I were able to have the work done the next day but travel commitments prevented that. He checked in with later that day and the next morning to make sure I didn't have any lingering questions or concerns. As an added bonus, since both my wife and I work from, Derek committed to supply two portable AC's to give some relief while the installation occurred. This was definitely one of the best sales interactions I've had. The installation team, led by Gary, was also excellent. The crew of three were very professional and polite. They arrived on time - around 8:30 am and quickly got to work which included laying projection for our floors and setting up the portable AC units. From the very beginning, Gary and team walked us through what the entire procedure would be and what to expect through out the day. At regular intervals, Gary would provide updates of the progress by sharing photos taken of the different work steps. A unique concern of ours was that one of our guest bedrooms historically has had little, if any, airflow. Once in the attic, the team identified the issue and corrected it as a normal part of the install. The full install took about 12 hours, but one of the first thing Gary told us in the morning is it takes him however long it takes him to get it right! They finished up running various cooling and heating tests and verifying the thermostat was operating properly. Two days after the install, we are very happy with the results. Our home is far more comfortable and, even though we haven't seen a utility bill yet, I can already tell the unit is running less. Overall, I will be recommending The Comfort Authority to friends and neighbors in need of new HVAC products.

Needed to replace a failing AC System. From diagnostics to Sales to Installation everything went smoothly. We were complete informed about everything we needed and what was to be done. As far as pricing goes, we ended up with a much better system for significantly less money than the competitors estimates. The installation was done EARLIER than expected and completed by two outstanding workmen who never once complained about the sauna-like conditions in my attic. The system is functioning perfectly and maybe too good since I woke up """"freezing"""" in the night, having to raise the temperature! I had a nice conversation with Steve, the owner, who stopped by to check on things -- nice touch and unexpected. Based on my experience, IMHO, don't bother with the big guys. This one beats them all.

Needed a minor repair with one of our units. Chase P. arrived first thing in the morning and took care of everything in a timely manner. Chase was friendly, professional and kind. The Comfort Authority has been my go to HVAC company for several years, and I highly recommend them.

Our technician, Rick Haven II, showed up at the agreed time. He went right to the outside unit, hooked up his equipment and within minutes had the problem identified. He really impressed us as a person who knew exactly what he was doing. This was not the case with the company that we had been using previously. The entire experience exceeded our expectations!

Buyer beware. Based on all the glowing reviews I called this company because after running my AC there was a fishy odor. The reps were prompt and courteous. There is some slight discoloration on a section of my coils, and they said it was mold. I live in a high-rise condo, and they said my unit was probably infected from another unit in the stack. I asked about cleaning, and they said it wouldn't help. They recommended several options, including a start assist...why would I invest several hundred dollars in an add-on for a unit over 8 years old? They gave me several options to get rid of the smell costing between $2393 and $3258 of a duct air purification unit and UVC sterilization. I declined and called another company for a second opinion. Two hours later the other company said it was probably dust on the coils and the only way to know if it is actually mold is to have it tested. This rep didn't think the UV lights were worth the price. He recommended I start with cleaning the coils with a spray on for about $7 from Home Depot and get a new filter. I bought a new filter and ran the unit for over an hour. That was 2 months ago and there has been NO trace of a smell. The Comfort Authority reps weren't too concerned about the source of the smell, adamantly stated it was mold/bacteria and discounted any type of cleaning. They like to state they are not salespeople, but their only recommendations were for """"investing"""" several hundred or thousands of dollars. It pays to get a second opinion.

I have had my new AC system more than a year now and have been so happy with the performance. I am really impressed with The Comfort Authority's ongoing relationship with its customers! For example, my family and I were forced to leave town due to the recent Hurricane Irma. Upon return, I noticed one of my AC units wasn't working. I left a late night message with the Comfort Authority. The next morning Steve immediately returned my call! I explained what the situation was and Steve explained what he thought the problem and solution might be. I asked if it was something I could do myself and he walked me through the steps. He also assured me if it didn't work he would get out to fix it later in the day. I tried it but was not successful and had to call Steve back. He was out later that afternoon as promised! Steve had it fixed immediately. He even let me watch what he did and also took the time to explain what he was doing so I might be able to fix it myself in the future. He even checked the other unit to make sure all was well. Here is what separates The Comfort Authority from other AC service companies, he didn't charge me! He said this fix was something that he felt they should do """"on the house"""" to make sure their customers are happy. As stated on my previous review, The Comfort Authority is not your average AC service company. They come in and look to design and install AC systems specifically for your house and your needs. They don't just come in and drop the units in where the previous ones use to be like most other AC companies. They take their time to understand the structure/design of your house, design a system to perform with maximum efficiency, and then install it making the best use of space. I actually gained more attic space after their install. That's not all! They follow up with visits and calls to make sure it is working up to your expectations and will make adjustments if it is not. They truly are not happy unless you are a happy customer. Steve and his crew, in the field and the office, are all just great people! Steve has even called to say hello and see how we are doing since we haven't talked in a while. I don't feel like a customer but more like a friend. One of the best choices I've made, as a home owner, was doing research and finding The Comfort Authority.

I had them in for a quote on a new AC Friday. I had 3 quotes in all and theirs was the best. On Monday, it was fully installed. Very professional and knowledgeable installers. I'm quite pleased with the installation.

From the first time James walked into my door, I was already surprised in a good way, specially when he said he was not only an installer, but an engineer himself. You know most people that work in these business will walk into your door trying to sell something sometimes they don't even understand themselves. That wasn't James! He made me feel safe that what he was saying it was actually the truth. He was educated in regards to his product, as well as the mechanics of it and how much better would my AC perform whether I was to fix the problem which it would last me a couple more years or replace the unit, which it was my final decision. He walked me thru all my options and the cons and pros of each! It was a smooth process. Installation was the same, Peter and his helper were awesome, and very knowledgeable as well as courteous and were up to answer any questions, and they even cleaned their mess, in spite of me telling them to not worry about it! They left my house spotless and with a brand new unit working awesomely good! :) I couldn't be happier. Genny also worked all the inspection details and all I had to do was to be home to wait for them. Comfort Authority couldn't make any easier for their customer and I would recommend them in a heart beat to anyone! Thanks for making my big bucks experience so smooth and pleasant. You guys are a great team together and I look forward to great maintenance to the new machine and the follow up review! Thanks Comfort Authority!!!! :) :) :) 5 stars big time!

WOW! Called about an AC issue. Chase was here in 20 minuted to diagnose and fix the problem. Friendly, professional and FAST service. THANKS!
