Starting in 2015 our church was required to perform an annual backflow test on our remodeled building. I went through the list of all certified testers for San Francisco and checked their company websites out and compared pricing. I noticed that while some testers offered a slightly lower price but if the initial test failed there would be additional costs for any attempts to resolve the issue (including attempts to clean the unit). If the initial test failed Peter was willing to do some basic cleaning to see if that could resolve the issue and pass the test without charging us additional cost. Of course, if it required a significant amount of effort and time additional cost would incur which is reasonable. With Peter, I didn't get the sense that this company was out to 'nickel & dime you' so I selected them from among the list of companies. One of our units failed the initial test and with some minor cleaning and reversing the gasket, it passed the test (at no additional cost). Peter now has another certified tester, Shawn, on his staff. (FYI, the person conducting the test needs to be a certified tester, and in SF, the list of testers is provided by the Dept of Public Health. I had noticed in checking out the various vendors that some other their testing staff had expired certifications. Peter's certification... and now Shawn's are both current.) We've been using The Backflow Guy for the past three years (2015-2017) and plan to continue using them. While I have used Yelp to check out restaurants I haven't actually don't a review till now. These guys do a great job so I felt I should take the time to do a review about them.

The Backflow Guy enables me to basically automate what could be a real bureaucratic drag: the yearly inspection of our backflow valves. I just send an email with the requested paperwork, and they schedule the work, perform the inspection and file the paperwork with no further work needed from me! I've used them for the last 5 years, and have no plans to change that!
