Eugene was very courteous, on time and efficient. Here came out the same day to replace my pressure regulator. Tried adjusting it first but since it wasn't responding decided it was safer to replace than run 80+ lbs pressure into the house. Reasonable price. I would recommend him.

We called The Art of Plumbing at around 7pm on Friday night because we discovered a leaking hose bib in our back yard. When Eugene came over he was able to temporarily fix the leak until Saturday morning when he came back and did a hose bib replacement. We appreciate him fixing this mess especially taking in consideration it happened on a weekend. Very knowledgable and professional.

The owner is a very nice gentlemen. He replaced a new kitchen faucet for me. The work is well done and the kitchen is as clean as before. I appreciate his wonderful service.

We had a clogged sink that needed immediate attention. Eugene was able make a same-day appointment. He quoted his minimum charge over the phone and sent a text message when he was on his way to our house. He worked quickly and was very respectful of our home. Highly recommend!

Owner told me that he didn't have time to pick up my part at the supply store, so I had to beg the store to let me go in there and get it myself (store only sells to contractors). I give the part to the plumber, part is broken, so I have to pay hundreds for that day. Then the plumber calls Eugene to ask how to proceed, and Eugene tells him that it's going to cost me the same amount to come back the next day to try again with a new part because the homeowner supplied the part. Are you kidding me? The only reason the ""homeowner"" supplied the part was because Eugene told me I had to!

I know for a fact that other plumbers would come out the next day free of charge in this situation.

The plumber that came out was awesome, I just don't agree with the owner's practices.

Let me respond to his response, since fighting over the internet is a good use of my time:

""First, we highly appreciate your business and our main Company goal is to make each customer happy with ""The Art of Plumbing"" services. Unfortunately, your feedback is far from what happened in reality. As you may recall you described the problem with your water heater over the phone and it was clear to me what was wrong and needed to be replaced. To SAVE YOU TIME AND MONEY, I offered that you reach the distributor using my professional plumbing license and account information to get the replacement part. So you did.""

I am not sure how this saves me time or money. Time: it took me about an hour to drive to Santa Clara and back when I could have been working. Money: you could have gone to the supplier to pick up the part, for free, and charged me for an hour of labor. Your time costs less than my time so this would have been cheaper than having me drive out to pick it up.

""The part you picked up, unfortunately, was defective and my technician was not able to fix the problem during the first visit. The very next day my technician replaced the part and fixed your water heater without charging you.""

You demanded that he charge me. I sat there and listened to him argue with you over the phone. It wasn't until I felt defeated and started walking into my house to grab a checkbook that he had a change of heart and didn't charge me. I thought he was paying out of his own pocket, as you, the owner, were forcing him to collect.

""You did get the replacement part for free using my professional account with the distributor and you paid for labor only once, even though we visited you twice and were supposed to be paid for our services since it was not our fault that the replacement part was faulty.""

Where do I start with this one. The original part was actually not broken. Your technician admitted that he had made an honest mistake, and thought that it was broken when it wasn't. I did not use your ""professional"" discount to get a replacement part, that's a straight out lie, the second supplier that I went to had no knowledge of who you were, I did not use your name to pick up the part. I used your name to pick up the first part because only contractors are allowed to enter that parts store, as stated in my previous review. You are either deliberately misrepresenting the facts or genuinely confused. Based on the other outrageous claims you make, I will assume the former.

""There are always two sides of the story... ""

Exactly.

The gentleman was nice and polite and was able to fix some of my issues. After he had been working for 50 minutes, I asked him to take a look again at my oddly-flushing toilet I had asked him to fix as he first informed me that it appeared to be working fine. He tinkered with it for 15 minutes and told me he did the best he could. That's fine, but then he charged me 1.5 hours for 65 minutes of work, the extra half hour cost an additional $80 (the service charge was $160 an hour). I've never hired a plumber before, so perhaps this is standard practice - that being said, the service was overall ""Good!"" in my opinion.

Eugene was the fourth plumber I got to try to fix a rare California Faucets thermostatic valve in our shower. The first two didn't have a clue; the third one couldn't figure out how to get it out to replace it and suggested demolishing part of the wall to get at it. Eugene identified the issue immediately and, once I got the right part in, came in and replaced it with no drama (and no demolished wall!). Add to that excellent communication -- replying promptly to texts -- and we'll be hiring Eugene for all future plumbing jobs.

I have worked with the owner, Eugene, on several different household plumbing jobs. I am very happy with his work. Eugene is very knowledgable, cost conscious, and sensitive to urgent needs of his customers. He will be my partner for all of my future plumbing needs. Here are examples of the work completed:
1st we had an issue with a temp sensor in our shower. Upon his investigation it turned out an expensive part could be cleaned and not replaced. A year later it's still working great.
2nd we had a sewage backup in our home. Eugene and his team systematically went through our home and out to the main sewer line to resolve the matter. It turned out to be roots that penetrated our sewer line and over time blocked. This was one of the worst (complex & messy) plumbing jobs I've ever witnessed requiring interfacing with city sewer services as well. It was great being able to trust The Art of Plumbing!!
