Expert, efficient, and fair. I can't recommend TX AC Specialist enough. We've been customers with the owner and his team for close to ten years; over that time they've served and supported us through 3 homes and a half-dozen referrals. Every single time they exceed expectations. We recently replaced our AC, furnace, and duct work; we also installed 5 air returns through-out our new (to us) house. During the design and install process we felt we were working with a trusted advisor consulting us towards the best options for our family, not their bottom-line. Martin and crew did an excellent job fixing massive problems that other companies in town had no clue how to solve. After purchasing a great (but pricey) Lennox unit and having it installed by a different company, we spent over 2 years being miserable and having system failures because they didn't hook up the zoning system correctly. Martin told us the expensive news that the handler needed to be moved to the attic for proper function and our duct work and return air system redone. We got another lower bid from a second well known company in town who told us they could do it without moving the handler, only to have them come back and tell us they couldn't do it after reviewing their computer analysis. This was something Martin clearly knew after a simple inspection. Moving the handler to attic, removing and replacing all duct work was completed efficiently in 3 days. Crew was responsive, efficient, and attentive to details. System finally works great and Martin was somehow able to get our thermostat upgrade included at no cost. Will be sending all of my business and recommendations to these guys from now on.

Texas heat we all love to hate it, especially when your AC isn't working! Texas AC specialist has built a relationship with my husband and I and let's be honest not for the best circumstances.
We are homeowners and for personal reasons we decided to lease a home for a year. Well 2 weeks in we started having AC problems and when I say problems I mean NO AC! The landlord had purchased a warranty through the company so of-course we had to do all the proper things and call to have some one come and service the AC. Sure enough with in 24 hours the AC was up and running. We thought the problem was fixed and for lack of so many details let's just say we had several service calls after... The AC had a mind of its own and wanted to test the knowledge of every service employee and I truly mean EVERY employee.
The great thing is that within 12-24 hours we had a technician along with their manager at our front door and they were stunned every time because they thought the problem was fixed. Unfortunately they ended up replacing the entire system and did it with exceptional customer service on top of having compassion for my family and I.
In the mist of our Texas heat and no AC It is not fun and is a huge inconvenience especially when you have kids and one being special needs.
My husband and I thank the company for not giving up and showing up several times with a great attitude and friendly service!

I had previously really liked this company and now am wondering if they were not being honest the entire time. My unit is only 7 years old, put in by them, the size suggested by them, all parts including an overflow switch and pan were said to be installed by them (and paperwork shows this) but I am now on the 3rd overflow and flood into my ceiling! When the service technicians came out (4 different ones) over the course of a week I heard, it is the coil, it is the pan, the switch wasn't done right, it is just freezing and we have no idea why, but we think you should buy a new unit. I was told the unit was too small, remind you they suggested this size when I bought it from them. They said this was because the coil was bad, but it would be so expensive to replace I should just get a new unit. When I told them it was under warranty, so should be free, they said that yes that was true but that the labor would be thousands, when pressed about this they said, well at least 1200 for labor. But a new unit at 7,000 was a better deal. What??! I had 2 other companies come in for a second and third opinion to see what was legit. BOTH companies without being told anything, said it was not properly installed (one took pics and showed me, the other had me get into the attic with him to show me) there were huge gaps in the duct work, part of the pan was bent and shoved off to the side with no way to catch the overflow water, and the overflow pipe was not in the right place. Only thing they all agreed on is that I would need a new furnace soon but that no, I did not need a new coil or unit! I am wondering now if the other 2 floods could have been avoided too!!

Used these folks for two jobs previously and called to have them come out to look at a toilet clog. Was on the schedule and the tech called around the appointment window saying he didn't have all the equipment he may need for my job and had to go back to the shop for a camera and started talking about $325 for this and $300 plus for that, without even coming to look at the toilet. I called back and asked for a detailed quote, because it was approaching $1000 for a toilet clog. They called back and said his boss approved a special rate for the camera, half price, if I set the service for today. Keep in mind, they STILL hadn't even been out to inspect the clog and had no clue what the job would entail. Said I still wanted a written quote since they were still talking about over $500. Said they'd have a quote to me by the end of the day. That was 3 weeks ago and still waiting for the quote. In the meantime, got the problem FIXED for $90. Will not use this company again.

Updating: got a call from Martin who called shortly after I left this review. He was interested in hearing about my experience and how they could make it right, even though I told him point blank that I was not likely to use their services again. He took the time to explain to me their normal processes and how my experience wasn't typical for them and tha5 he would be discussing it in detail to find out where the breakdown occurred. He offered to refund my out of pocket expense to have the clog fixed and that is greatly appreciated. He also offered to be a point of contact should I decide to use their services again. His call went a long way and hopefully my experience was just a blip. This would have been fourth time I would have used them so have been happy with them before.

Something changed in this company. We used to get a good service for the most part the last 7 years. We have a bedroom that gets direct sunlight in the mornings and wasn't cooling properly. They suggested we do a direct duct because it was sharing one with the laundry. Last April when they came for maintenance for our 3 units we finally asked them to do the direct duct and they did it for $225. They also did other repairs and we decided to renew our maintenance plan for the next three years. We ended up paying $1500. On June when the temperatures were already getting really hot we noticed the room was still very warm. We called them and upon arrival the guy checked the vent in the room and said that the system was not cooling properly and that the unit probably needed freon. I mentioned another area that was also having problems getting properly cooled and he checked both units and add the freon. He finished and gave me a bill of $250 dollars. I asked him if the freon was included in the maintenance plan since they had just checked the systems 5 weeks before and didn't mentioned the need for freon. He said they usually include up to 1 gallon of freon per unit and since I have 3 units I was entitled to 3 gallons a year. I asked him if it was okay if I called the office and check if I had already gotten my included supply of freon. I called their office two hours later and the receptionist tells me that the manager already checked and we needed to pay for the freon. I politely ask if I could speak to him to clarify and she says he is in a meeting but will call me back. He never does and 3 days later I am on vacations and I noticed that they had already billed my credit card for the $250 dollars without my approval of the charge. They just happened to have my credit card on file! Days later I called again and told the receptionist how upset I am that the manager never called back and they went ahead and used my credit card without my authorization. She said that the manager is gonna call me back because he is in a call. He never calls me back. We have been a client for 7 years. Spend $1500 with them just last April and I can't even get a call. Now we are stuck with the 3 year maintenance plan we just paid in advance, the room still gets warm (their last technician said it might be because of the location of the thermostat - GOOD TO KNOW AFTER DOING THE DIRECT DUCT) and we don't trust Texas AC Specialist anymore!

UPDATE:
I want to acknowledge the company for trying to make things right with their customers. Martin the Service Manager called me today to address the situation. First he asked me how everything happened because they wanted to make sure it doesn't happen again. He clarify the freon policy to me, turns out it's just included in the first maintenance. He apologized for the manager never calling me back and offered to check why they charged the credit card. He is reimbursing the freon charge for the inconvenience and giving a discount on the direct duct. He gave me further advice on ways to solve my warm room. Thanks Martin for your response, I am all about companies that want to make things right with their customers.

Texas AC saved our hide when our 14 year old HVAC system went out - on a Sunday and during the first 3 digit weather days we were having. Of course, right? Could there be a worse time? They answered our first panicked email promptly and had someone out the next morning. They presented us with several options as to what to do. We ended up going with replacing the unit since it was so old and we'd already repaired it a few times. They gave us several options of different brands and different price tiers. There were no strong arm sales tactics. Once we made our choice, the installation was scheduled for that same day. The 3 guys that came to install were polite and hard working. They laid down drop cloths to keep our floors clean. They cleaned up everything at the end. They were even very nice to my elderly dog who was interested in what was going on. Afterwards the office helped out by filling out the warranty rebates for the city of Austin and for the manufacturer. It's never pleasant losing your AC in the summer and then having to pay for a new HVAC. Texas AC helped us have the best experience out of an unpleasant one. Our new system is great! Martin was quick to get to our house. They were able to get it done in really short notice which was great for having AC issues. We were up and running the day before the July 4th holiday. I would say the price seemed to be a little high but the service was great.
