Couldn't have had a better experience. An old dead tree fell over in our back yard and snapped the power line to the house. IPL came out and said we needed an electrician to do the work. This was on a Sunday and most of the companies we called couldn't get to us for several days or wanted astronomical ""after hours"" fees. Robert showed up within an hour of our call, gave us the most reasonable quote we heard all afternoon, and started the work immediately. Our lights were back on before it got dark outside, the food in our fridge and freezer was saved! I wouldn't hesitate to call Taylor's again.

Robert Poteet, doing business as Taylor's Electric and Plumbing, was called to diagnose a furnace issue at my house. After looking at the furnace for a few minutes, he recommended the furnace be replaced. We agreed on a price and we agreed he would replace the furnace. While I was with him, he called the HVAC supply house and ordered the furnace and parts needed. He would pick up the equipment in the morning and then install. I gave him a check for $700.00 to pay for the equipment he needed. The balance of the $1,300.00 bill would be paid upon job's completion. He called me the next morning and told me I should get someone else to install the furnace. Unfortunately, he kept my $700.00 equipment payment.

Robert Poteet is incompetent, extremely dishonest, almost impossible to do business with and you could only describe his way of dealing with his customers as belligerent and rude. You cannot trust a ""single word"" he says. I had several dealings with Mr Poteet prior to this incident and I knew he was liar and now, based on this experience, he has proven himself to be a thief. I am suing Mr Poteet because of this incident. He is trying now to say he is owed money for his hourly work. He works 30 minutes and charges for 3 hours of work at $100 an hour. Just another example of his greed/dishonesty. We only agreed on him installing the furnace which he refused to do. So, the entire amount I paid for the furnace/parts will be returned as mandated by the court.

Do not recommend. He collected my trip charge money but never even delivered an estimate. Replied that he didn't have the manpower to do the job. He never even started our job, let alone actually following through... he made $40 that day for nothing. The exact definition of someone who gives contractors a bad name.

We hired Mr. Taylor to do both electrical and plumbing work on our home and it was a huge mistake. The work we hired him to do was at most a 4-5 day job. He would show up work for an hour and then claim an ""emergency"" and say he would be back and then wouldn't return for days. He finally after 3 weeks got our water heater installed and a new electrical panel installed. We paid him for that with the understanding he would come back the following Monday to install electrical boxes for lighting fixtures. 6 weeks later and just b.s. excuses from him. Always saying he will be there tomorrow but never shows. DO NOT HIRE THIS LAZY LYING THIEF. He was paid for work that he didn't and for some reason won't complete.
