We had this company come out and do a tap on a 8in water main and they were very professional and quick. Took him about 30 or 45 mins and they charged $600. Money we'll spent. I believe jared was the name of the guy that came out.

Tap master is a Specialty Contractor that does Hot taps , Line stops, and Pipe Freezing at an Industrial level. All of the work is very high liability and specialized.
The bad yelp we got from the condo unit owner is why we rarily do residential homes or condo's. a large majority of residential and condo customers have no concept of what commercial type work like this involves, the liability or the true costs for this type of work.

We are not like a local plumbing company who covers a 5-10 mile radius, we are a regional specialized contractor who covers the Western States has has to travel greater distances in a 1 ton fully stocked dually truck, each with a 3200 lb crane.

We do no plumbing or piping, just the specialized work listed above at a very fair rate.We never threaten anyone with small claims court. Hansel is obviously unhappy which is understandable, as we both were unable to communicate exactly what and how his system worked. Unfortunately Hansel could not control his system to allow us to complete the freezes on his piping and allow him to make his repairs without him draining the building.

I have been in the business over 34 years and have owned tap Master, Inc for over 20 years. You can ask any Municipality,Mechanical,Plumbing or Underground Contractor in the business in California, Arizona, Nevada and Colorado, and you will get a good review or review that says we went the extra mile to see the customer was happy.

Sorry guys, have to give you a poor review. I needed a quick way to shut off some water pipes in my condo unit in SF and called these guys to freeze my pipes since my unit didn't have its own shutoffs. They're pretty expensive for the job - $150 per hour, INCLUDING drive time, so they charged me $600 for a two hour job (two hours driving, two hours work). The job was to freeze my hot and cold water pipes - however, because my hot water was on a recirculator, they weren't able to freeze them. Granted, this wasn't their fault - but on the other hand they should have been much clearer prior to the job on what the requirements were. They also should have been clearer I was paying them per hour, not for a job well done.

I'll own up to the mistake of not knowing our pipes were on a recirculator, but these guys should have better customer service sense than to still charge me the entire amount. At least throw me a bone, I know it doesn't cost them $300 to drive from Concord to San Francisco and back.

Another reason for the low rating was when I called back and asked to get a partial refund, he basically ""threatened"" small claims court on me if I dispute the charge. He said it in a professional manner, but come on - small claims court? To even think that shows the mentality of these folks.

Find another company to do your pipes.
