I just had a tankless water heater installed by Tanknot Tankless, Inc (Tanknot.com) as a replacement for my old tank that was taking up space in the kitchen. I was worried about the installation, as I heard it can be tricky, especially in old houses. The installation price was great -- surprisingly lower than quotes I got a few years ago. I worked with David and Juno, and they were great to work with -- friendly, responsive, honest, fast. The work they did installing the system in my basement/crawlspace was excellent. Work passed the City of Oakland's inspection at the first visit. The system works beautifully, and I'm thrilled to have it. I have no hesitation recommending them.

I found tanknot tankless online while researching a new water heater. I was looking to replace my two inefficient 15 year old tanks with a highly efficient tankless.

Initially I filled out a form on the Noritz website and was referred to an installer in the South Bay. The quote was rather high so I contacted tanknot for a second opinion. David came to my home on a Sunday to estimate the job. He was very helpful and informative and pointed me to the Eternal tankless heaters which I ended up going with (I liked the features of these units better than the Noritz as well as the longer warranty). David knows a lot about these devices. His price was also much better than the Noritz bid even though the eternal models are more expensive.

His lead installer was out within a week or so to perform the installation. He did a terrific job removing my two inefficient water heaters and installing the tankless. Very professional.

Overall, I this was about as smooth as I could imagine. Highly recommended!

I contacted tanknot.com about receiving a free estimate for a tankless water heater installation. David came out to my home and gave me an estimate. I explained to him that I had just purchased the house and wasn't sure when I would be able to afford to have the work done. He told me that wasn't a problem and ask me to sign off on the estimate. Now he is claiming that the estimate was a contract to have work done by him and that if I don't have him install a water heater by the end of the month I owe him $500 for canceling the contract. I didn't agree to any of this. The paper I signed says ""proposal"" right at the top. He is threatening to take legal action and to report this to credit reporting agencies. This guy is a scam artist. I wouldn't recommend doing business with him.

I called this company and the owner David showed up 2 hours late! then he tried to sell me a very expensive unit he said was the best. I had 2 other estimates and this company had the highest by far. When I told him that he started bad mouthing the other companies and that they don't know what they are doing, etc.
Watch out not to be ripped off by these guys, I almost got ripped off. I decided to go with another company and am very happy I did. I did a 5 star rating for the other guys, also a specialized company, justtankless.

Had my tankless water heater installed by these David and they did a great job! Excellent customer service, i had a gas leak that was NOT related to my water heater. David came out and help me find the problem. I highly recommend the Tanknot and David, so much that my dad is going to give him a call!

Earlier this year Tanknot installed a new tankless water heater system in my home. I found David (the owner) and his staff extremely professional, knowledgeable and reliable. David had a welcome analytical sales approach, fully versed in the economics needed for an educated decision - which I cannot say for the competition. I received three competing bids for the job and Tanknot's prices were by far the best. He delivered everything on schedule and as promised. I highly recommend Tanknot.

In June of 2007 I had Tanknot supply and install a tankless water heater unit in the second unit of a triplex that I managed for my mother. We had one tankless installed already when the first water heater rusted out, installed by a handy man, which I am happy with. But when the second one showed signs of decline, I had the experts come out as we did not think we could install a tankless unit in this location, due to venting distance and gas supply pipe size. To our surprise, they were able to select the proper model and avoid some of the costly mistakes we would've made having gone with a general contractor or plumber. They did excellent work, were timely, polite, affordable and were a pleasure to hire. I would recommend them to anyone.

Tanknot did a great job installing my new on-demand hot water heater. It was a replacement for an 18-year old heater, so I was already a fan of tankless. Tanknot specializes in tankless (Tank? Not!) water heaters, and they know their stuff. The technician who installed the unit was professional and efficient, and the Tanknot company owner followed up with emailed information I need for the tax credit. Even though I've only had my unit a week, it works great, was sized right for my needs, and I'm happy with it. Best of all, the cost was substantially less than other plumbers charge.

Dealing with the company is unpleasant at best...I am a big believer in tankless water heaters but if they're not properly installed they're a waste of money. I couldn't find any reviews of this company prior to hiring them...and I am sorry no one warned me in advance about the lousy customer service. I hope my review might save someone the anguish of wasting thousands of dollars and wasting weeks of time trying to get someone to fix the problem.
