Armando came out and installed my new tankless heater. He was courteous and professional, and installed a new gas line and water lines for the job. Everything worked out great, no hidden fees, no up charges, just exactly what was first estimated. Best of all, I have endless hot water! Thanks Ted and Armando!

MY ISSUE
A 10 yr old tankless that doesn't want to heat water consistently. Finally it stopped working with an ""error code 99""

THEIR SOLUTION
(paraphrasing) ""That error code certainly means you need to have a detailed servicing"" Which costs $175.

THE RESULT
Hot water for 1-2 days and then back to not working, now with a new ""error code 90"". I called to follow up. Their explanations of what the different error codes mean didn't make sense to me. So, I suggested that I might just need a new tankless unit and who I assume is the receptionist, agreed. She said she would have the plumber contact me with options. I haven't heard back.

So, it feels that I've spent $175 for the pleasure of 2 days of hot water and then no follow up and/ or concern to actually fix the real problem. That's not very cool.


***Update, I have to report that Ted, the owner, has made contact and did give a sincere effort to make the situation right. Even though I've already taken my business elsewhere, I think this goes a long way in saying something about the integrity of this company. Star added.

My Bosch tankless stopped working. Kevin came out and lit the pilot light... a two minute job. I was charged $200!! I think that's quite excessive for a simple service call! So, if you've got money to burn, call these guys.
Update: Your reply would be absolutely correct except that I was not given a quote on the phone at all! As a matter of fact, I called another service first, and didn't use them because their service charge seemed excessive... and it was less than yours!

Great Company. Their prices are reasonable. Ted is very knowledgeable and honest about what work is needed for your home. As promised, the job performed meets the code requirements. The worker was knowledgeable, polite, and cleaned up after the work was completed.

I do not recommend hiring Ted Kelly and/or his employees to perform work for you. First, the contractor did not pull a city permit on my job and sure enough workmanship problems occurred. I called the city building inspector and the inspector verified that the work was not sized correctly and that the work was not to code. Ted Kelly finally refunded me my money after many emails and phone calls . Second, the California State License Board website currently shows Ted Kelly's license as being suspended. The license number is 809972.

At the very last minute in an extremely difficult escrow I needed work done on one of my listings. The work needed was done the very next day and was done extremely well and at a very reasonable price. Without their services the escrow wouldn't have closed. As a result of their service excellence, the repairs were completed and my clients are extremely happy with their new home. Once again, this company came through for me. I cannot recommend their services highly enough.

I own a very busy hair salon in Encino. We were sold and installed what we thought was the top on the line water heater. It has been the worst purchase I have ever made. This thing went off line on a regular bases. You can't imanagine 30 plus women upset about getting cold water shampoo's! I called many plumbers to fix this problem and none of them knew how to fix this issue. Ted totally bailed us out of this bad situation! He understood the importance this was to our business and got here immediately. He knows more about tankless water heaters than the technicians that work for the company's that make them! Ted is the only plumber I would consider calling in the future! Not only did he fix the problem he was able to get the company to give us two new water heaters that I will promptly sell. Any buyers?

This is not a review on this company's actual services, but just a review of their seeming inability to keep an appointment and lack of communication. I made an appointment to get our tankless water heaters serviced, and made it a point to be home during the 2 hour scheduling window. The 2 hour window passes, but no one shows up. So I call, and am told that the technicians are finishing up at another site and would be done within an hour. Another hour goes by, and then I get a call saying the technicians can't make it out to my place.

After several attempts, I get another appointment scheduled, with another 2 hour scheduling window. I send a text to the company, asking if they could call me on my cell when they arrive, since I would be working around the back of the house and wouldn't be able to hear the doorbell. The 2 hour window passes, and no one shows up. I call, and am told that they had to cancel my appointment because they had an emergency job, only no one bothered to call me. Apparently they interpreted my text as telling them I found another company to service our water heaters????

To their credit, the woman was nice enough on the phone, and they apologized and did offer to have another company service our water heaters and foot half of the bill. That is a nice gesture, but I kindly declined. Maybe these guys are good, but just way too busy? I just want to get our water heaters serviced, and wish I didn't waste the last couple of weeks trying to work with this company.

Ted came by and gave me a very good price for installing a Noritz NRC-711OD outdoor gas unit. I had purchased the unit with the remote online. The installation was done by Kevin who spent about 4 hours total. I was very impressed by the quality of the work. Thanks for the great job!! Love my new water heater.
