I was recommended to Tangney & Sons, when I needed a new water service line and Mike Tangney sprang to the rescue! The address of my property is at least 60-70 miles away from Tangney's location, but that did not stop Mike from immediately researching what my property required and he got plans from the Chicago Water Dept beforehand, so he arrived armed with expertise and information! Mike knew exactly what I needed and he provided a price that was more than fair! I am so grateful to Mike for saving the day and I can't recommend him highly enough!

We had a major problem when a sewer line in the street suddenly broke and threatened to block our sewage system. Joe from Tagney came to the rescue and took care of it for us. He was through, prompt and efficient. The disaster was avoided and at a fair price. He handled everything from obtaining permits to doing the dig to a neat cleanup. Joe is now our plumber and we are glad to have him. He is the best.

Had one of their men, Joe come out to try and unclog a drain. Tried unclogging for 2 hours and gave up and insisted the only solution is the expensive jet flush starting at $1,200+ I declined so he left with his easy $200+ for not doing anything at all. Was able to make time today to rent a machine myself from Home Depot and got it open after multiple hours of hard work. Lazy man looking to make a quick dollar not to try to solve an issue.

Joe ""The Plumber"" was a pleasure to work with.
We had an unexpected accident when a tree trimming co damaged our septic tank. I was given Joe's number as a referral and boy was I in luck.

Joe is wonderfully honest and a great, trustworthy resource for our condo association. We asked him to come out and perform work on our building and, after assessing our situation, he actually advised us not to have him perform the job we had requested because it would be an unnecessary expenditure for our association, even though he was taking money out of his own pocket by saying so. We will use him and his company for all of our building's plumbing needs, and if my wife and I ever move, I will make sure to recommend him for work on our future residence as well.

Over priced. He has a kid with him that does not know plumbing. He installed new kitchen supply lines and they both leaked after they left. He fixed one valve and charged me $650 for that fix. The worst service of any plumber I have ever used.

Mike Tangney and his crew came out when we needed a bonded plumber to work on an unknown problem with a sewer under the city sidewalk. Mike was beyond professional and extremely helpful. Not only did his crew come out the day before thanksgiving, repair the sewer, but he also worked with us after the sewer was repaired when he discovered the gas company had damaged the sewer line. It took us two months to figure things out with the Gas company, but Mike was helpful all along the way. I highly recommend them.

I did not have a good experience. This may be a family owned business but the plumber that came to my home was a independent contractor and not a employee. I needed new flappers on 3 Toliets and 1 toliet needed to be sealed. He said he didn't have any flappers in his truck so instead he shortened the chains. When I told him that I was not happy with that solution and that he was a plumber and should have supplies with him. Then all of a sudden flappers appear. Turns out he has a partner out in his truck that he called to run to Ace Hardware to buy flappers. The partner had to stay in the truck because he couldn't turn the truck off because there was something wrong with it. Impressive. I was charged almost $400. I went to charge it and was told they only accept credit cards for over $500. I should have been told that BEFORE the work was done.

I then asked about a leak in my upstairs bathroom. Long story but I was doubled talked with the pricing to take down the ceiling to look for the leak. Was told they don't charge to take the ceiling down but will add several hundred dollars to the bill instead. Made a appointment anyway for the following week. I canceled it a couple of days later.Then the guy shows up anyway. The person I spoke to on the phone to cancel never canceled it in their books. Again, impressive.

Will call someone else to fix my leak. Don't trust these people at all.
