Wow, the level of rudeness and unprofessionalism by the owner of this business is truly astounding. We needed to replace a kitchen faucet and wanted to support a local small business, so we stopped in to see what they had at Taft plumbing. The owner was rude and unhelpful when we asked a couple of questions. We brought several pictures of what we currently had to make sure we purchased one that would work. I asked if we could return the faucet if it didn't work. She said there was a 10% restocking fee. I asked would we still have to pay that if we it didn't work with our existing plumbing, she replied, ""What wouldn't work?"" Not being a plumber, I didn't have an answer to that. We should have left at that point. Her employee rang up the faucet and it came up $13 more than the price listed under the sample. I asked about that and she said there was a sign on the counter that stated the prices might be higher than listed if they hadn't had time to change the sticker. I looked, it was at the bottom of a piece of paper that said prices subject to change, on a counter strewn with other papers. Again, we should have left. Instead we overpaid and took the faucet home to install.
Unfortunately, we quickly realized that the connectors didn't fit with our existing plumbing, even though it was the same brand faucet. So we went back to the store to see if they had a adapter. They did not, and told us we would have to replace all the shut off valves. At this point we finally smartened up and decided to return the faucet. We asked if we could have the 10% restocking fee waived as most of the parts were never even out of the box, had shown them a picture of what we had and were concerned that it might not work. The answer was no.
We returned it, took our $26 hit and left. We immediately call a local plumber who was very helpful and had much better reviews and decided to hire them to replace our faucet. We also found the same exact faucet for about half the price. We have learned our lesson and will never return to Taft plumbing.

will never use them again. Mike was awful. Had them connect my new sink and put in a new water heate. Six months later had to have someone else fix the sink because it leaked and the water heater rust after one year. Mike never said sorry or took any responsibility. Never again.

Second time I've used them, both times solved the problem without expensive replacements. Highly recommend!

Like all peninsula contractors, you just stand in line waiting for them to call you when they are available and if you have plans, you either cancel or miss out. But, that's not why I'm leaving the bad review. My system was venting septic smell into my kitchen area when I do laundry. The kitchen does have a venting problem, which I can fix, but there is a vent stack just a few inches away from the washer so there's no reason to be venting 30 feet away. The plumber did some mansplaining to avoid getting into a big job. So, I will be putting on some coveralls and climbing under there myself rather than waiting and trying to convince them to actually troubleshoot which he didn't do on the first visit like I asked for.
It's a house I recently purchased and the previous owner did a lot of wonky stuff. I thought it would be one project off my list, but no....

We have a 1986 home that needs repairs. Taft was recommended to us in July, 2020. It is now November, 2020. Three visits and three months later, and all they have accomplished the to replace our well pump and tank. That work was good, but we still have low water pressure in the upstairs baths, a broken toilet in the master bath, and no cold water in the laundry room. The employees are friendly, courteous and capable. But, the supervisor has been very discourteous.

I am glad Taft takes on small jobs as well as the big ones!
I needed a refrigerator water line installed, I called on a Thursday and the polite gentleman told me that they should be able to get to me within a few days, putting me on 'a list'.
Monday morning arrived, and got a call from tech Mike that he's ready to come out and could be there in 'ten minutes' - now, realize, that most people 'working from home' on a monday morning, arent entirely dressed lol, so it was a bit of a rush to get some pants on before Mike showed up lol
Anyway, Mike surveyed the situation, made a good decision for placement of the outlet, turned off the water, opened a hole in the wall and had it quickly installed. Nice job
I didnt realize that Taft doesnt do the finishing work (drywall) and that I will have to complete that part of it.
On the phone I was quoted $95/hr for labor (reasonable for loaded labor rate), and I assume my bill will be in the $200 range or under, so am happy with that. They dont charge on the spot, they send you a bill.
I'd recommend Taft and if i need addl plumbing work would call them again.

Avoid this company at all costs. If you read some of the other reviews you will see the same message. This company is entitled because they are the only ones in the area. They have left me, and after reading other reviews, multiple other people, without water after promising business. Every time you call, no one knows whats going on and they have to write down a message and ""call you back"" which they never do. Resulting in you having to call again and again. Finally after getting them to send someone out they promised me to order equipment because my well setup was ripped out by the previous owners. They Promised to have it in by the end of August, it is 2 months later and they plain do not care. THEY DO NOT CARE WE HAVE NO WATER and they are the only ones in the area that could help. I don't know who would want to do business with a company like that. But I promise I will make sure to lead customers elsewhere as long as I live.
I ended up talking to Moerke & Sons pump and drilling out of Chehalis, and after showing them the equipment list Taft was going to get for me, they laughed at what a joke it was and how the system they were going to get me was gonna fail within the first few years.
This company does not care about the customer. Only themselves. Avoid at all cost and make them realize that the CUSTOMER is the important one, and not them.

I had used Taft plumbing before, the plumber was pleasant but flooded my home. They took ownership of the damage. I thought to give them another try since they were honest and the plumber pleasant. However in making another appt. they were not good at returning calls since during business hours they did not answer or the one who set appt. was not available. When appt was made to assess the job, I was told that prior to the day they would give me a estimated time. No call back on estimated time. I called on the day of the appointment and was told they would get right back with me. 3hours later no call, called again and women(Kate) who stated she was responsible for scheduling, stated she could not give me a time or estimated time do to owner being on job and would not call to get one, but I was to be available for him to drop in at any time during the day. I requested a call about an hour prior to him coming and was told it was not done, that I might get a call just prior to him coming. Kate spoke with irritated patronizing tone, would ask me a question then talk over me to reinforce that she was unconcern over the inconvenience of one waiting all day, and then state she was doing all she could do to help, which was incongruent and disingenuous. Thus I waited all day only to call back one more time when no one showed up to be told at 4:50pm that he would not be showing up, but I could reschedule next week. This passive aggressive attitude by the ""scheduler"" does not speak well of Taft Plumbing customer service, or their ability to rise above past professional mistakes.

No water they just said they'll out me on ""the list"" and call me when they can, luckily I found someone who understood I needed help right away

Taft Plumbing has always made sure my business can be up and running as soon as HUMANLY possible. They are always up front and honest of times when they are available to come and fix whatever problem has come up. For a small business in a small community they go above and beyond. Thank you Taft Plumbing!
