During the most recent round of storms our hot water heater went out. I called the plumbers that had previously installed it with no response and began looking for another service provider in the area. I found T.A. Roberts Co. and read the reviews on Yelp. Todd responded quickly and was on my doorstep the next day. He and his son Ben accessed the work and gave us two options. Since the previous call (and more rain) our basement also flooded. Along with the heater they made time to install a sump pump. My husband and I appreciated the timeliness of their response and the genuine service we received. We will not hesitate to call them for any of our future plumbing needs and this review is our recommendation to neighbors in need of plumbing and the best service. Thanks Todd and Ben!

DON'T BOTHER CALLING ANYONE ELSE - THESE GUYS ARE THE ABSOLUTE BEST!!! I had a plumbing, flooding, water heater emergency nightmare. I called 10-15 plumbers and Todd was the only one who could come right away. He and Ben were PROFESSIONAL, RESPECTFUL, EFFICIENT AND FRIENDLY.

They treated me like family, taking care to keep their work area clean and being respectful of me and my property. They had to get creative at one point when a pump I bought from Home Depot didn't work - they ran back to their office to get a wet/dry vac, then returned quickly and took care of the flooding problem - Ben even cleaned up some of the mess that had nothing to do with the flooding, leaving my basement cleaner than it was before the flood. Next, they diagnosed the problem with my water heater and repaired it to perfect working condition - I honestly expected that I would need to replace it at a cost of hundreds (one plumber quoted me nearly $1,000 parts/labor). Todd gave me a very fair price and great advice and suggestions about how to protect my house from similar problems in the future.

THIS WAS BY FAR THE VERY BEST HOME SERVICE EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAD! If I could give them 6 stars I would.

Todd and Ben are fantastic. They came through for me when other plumbing companies were running away scared from the complexity of the job we needed installed. Also just generally great guys and easy to work with.

I own Merch Monster Screen Printing in Oakland. We needed an air loop hung from our 25' high ceiling - a big 15' w x 30' long square of 2"" copper pipe - then hooked up to an 80 gallon industrial compressor. Todd and Ben got up in a scissor lift and made it happen for us in a week.

We wouldn't have been able to move into our new location without their help and our equipment is running great. Thanks!

Earlier this year Todd & Ben Roberts installed a water heater for us with the quickness. The work & service was top notch. Also, a couple of days ago Todd came over & replaced a faucet to our washing machine. This father & son duo have incredible professionalism & customer service. They have a ""no job is too big or too small"" ethic. If you're need plumbing of any kind, hire them.

Can all of these Yelp reviewers be wrong about him? Absolutely not! Just as promised, he is fantastic! Quick break down:
1) Answered the phone when I called. (Odd how rarely this happens with other plumbers)
2) Was available the same day.
3) Arrived very quickly and right on time.
4) If I may steal the phrase, ""Uses his head for more than a hat-rack..."" - Honestly, this guy clearly knows his stuff and uses his brain as often as anything else in his tool box.
5) Was clear and upfront about all costs before he did any work.
6) As I was interested, he explained exactly what he was doing, how, and why so now I know a little bit more about plumbing than I did yesterday.
7) Job was done very well and quite fast.
8) Cleaned up when he was done.
9) Final price was extremely fair. (This was extremely important to me!)
10) To top everything off he was pleasant, courteous, and an all around good guy!

I would not hesitate for a minute recommending him to family, friends, and fellow Yelpers. Do yourself a favor and call this guy first!

*Update*
I made a huge mistake. Todd was away on vacation so I decided to use another plumber for my job. (Leaky shower, slow flow on the kitchen faucet, and a double flushing toilet.) She was also highly rated on Yelp so I thought it would not be a problem. I was wrong. She failed to fix anything, almost broke my faucet, and told me I would need to contact American Standard to order new parts and fix it myself.

Luckily I was smart enough to wait a few days for Todd to come back. He knew what he was doing, fixed the problems with the right tools very quickly, and no special parts or new faucet was required for the kitchen sink.

Lesson learned: if you have any choice at all, always stick with Todd!

***Update 2***
Todd is now working with his son Ben. I believe Ben will be taking over the business soon. While I will be sad to loose Todd, I am happy to report that the apple does not fall far from the tree!

Ben has clearly been very well trained by his dad. I had them both out for a bit of a tricky problem today. After a bit of sleuthing, Ben had an idea of what he thought the problem was, and it turned out he was correct. Ben was fast, left the work area clean, and is looking to be just as friendly and personable as his father. To top it all off, his bill was outstandingly fair.

They have earned a loyal customer for life. Call these guys FIRST! You will not be disappointed!

Todd and his son Ben are great. We renovated our kitchen and they helped install the new sink, disposal and faucet, and then came back months later, no questions asked, when we lost some water pressure and fixed it immediately. Very considerate, FAST to respond, and get the job done.

Extremely pleasant, professional, and efficient. I had new construction and the plumbing was off. The former contractor tried a few things but the shower still wasn't right.
