This review is based on personal experience not related to plumbing. However, this morning at Starbucks in Victorville, the driver of this truck believed he had cut me off in line and paid for my drink (with an apology). Sir, it was the lady in the black Malibu behind you, who looked directly at me and rolled her eyes as she sped up to quickly get behind you in line. I had a picture of your truck because she mouthed an obscenity at me after I honked and I was relating the story to my husband, who is away for work this week. I was awake all night with a newborn and a toddler who misses his dad. I was really looking forward to that coffee as I dropped my older kids off at school! So I wanted to say thank you. You did something nice for me because you believed you had made a minor mistake, and I'd be willing to bet that attitude carries over into your work ethic. If we have plumbing issues at our house, we'll be calling you. You lived up to the symbol on your truck this morning and it was certainly appreciated by a tired mom.

Randy Ferronato of TR Plumbing went above and beyond expectation. The water heater repair that was initially scheduled for Tuesday by the extended warranty service from Home Depot was fixed by Randy the very next morning (Saturday).

Although I'm sure he can't guarantee that level of responsiveness for every ticket, my issue was easily remedied and he made it happen. Randy went out of his way to pick up the broken part on a Saturday morning, showed up when he said he would, and BOOM. Fixed.

This experience is quite uncommon when dealing with contractors, and that's why I'm posting this.

I can't say enough nice things about Randy Ferronato, President of T. R. Plumbing. I was fortunate to be his last call accepted prior to his temporarily removing himself from the referral network due to other projects.

I was referred to TR Plumbing by the extended warranty company to service my GE water heater purchased at Home Depot a few years ago and now covered under extended warranty. I was apprehensive about a referral to a non-referenced plumber, especially given my prior negative experiences with a former Home Depot warranty service provider, Rescue Rooter, whose plumbers tried to sell me a buffet of replacements/upgrades that I did not need.

I called the warranty company yesterday to file my claim and, due to my urgency of being without hot water, was provided Randy's phone number so I could contact him directly in addition to their normal alert system. Randy said he had intended to block out the time but was empathetic to my situation and agreed to squeeze me in first thing this morning. I explained that The Gas Company representative had identified my problem as thermocoupler failure; Randy asked for make, model and serial number and requested that I text photos of the complete unit plus specific close-ups, which I did.

Randy arrived this morning, within the promised window, and with the right parts. (The maker replacement parts are being overnighted to me but Randy came with replacement parts from his personal supply so he could solve my problem this morning, asking only that I forward the warranty replacement parts to him in exchange as he did not want me to be without hot water again this morning.)

Mr. Ferronato was prompt, professional and empathetic. Although on a tight schedule, because I was interested, he took the time to explain the failure in the context of how the hot water heater works. He not only did a great job on my water heater repair but also educated me as a consumer and homeowner. He is/would make an outstanding teacher.

I felt one disappointment in this service visit--the realization that I would not be able to call upon him in the future as he is in the process of relocating out of the area! So not only did he assist me in my time of need but also without the expectation of generating future business--just because he is a genuinely nice guy. In fact, Randy told me that he hardly does any residential service as his focus has been commercial.

I really appreciated Randy's help this morning and wish him every success in his new endeavors.
