This business was founded by my father shortly after we immigrated to the U.S. in 1980. At that time, the idea of the American dream was new to us, but my dad emphasized the significance of honesty and reliability from the outset. He held the belief that fairness towards customers would cultivate loyalty and respect. This principle laid the groundwork for our company’s beginnings, and I feel privileged to uphold this legacy and these cherished values.
In remembrance of my father, Gary S, who started his handyman career in LA in 1979, I strive to carry forward his impressive legacy. Although following in his footsteps is a considerable challenge, he instilled in us the values of honesty and reliability, which he believed others would appreciate. I strive to maintain these principles, aspiring to build a trustworthy and reputable company that serves our community well. I am grateful for your support.

Great work, Chen was very responsive came within the hour to fix our clogged kitchen drain

Exceeded expectations. Han can do anything, and he does it well. He is honest, most reasonably priced, careful, and posseses a wide range of skills. He does a meticulous workmanlike job and cleans up after his work each day. Very professional and talented, and good at solving problems of my making. He also works quickly and untiringly, 7 days a week.Thank you, Han. I'll continue to use him for every job in the future.

Great value, fastest service and fixing any problems in your home, they will be back to check your problem again when it wrong or you didn't like it.

(Edit: 2/22: To be fair, RH did provide refund on the job so extra star for that. And yes, pipe was old but as mentioned, it was not in terrible shape according to the other plumbing companies that came in to fix later. Primary point here is that if you have something like this where things can go wrong, take the time and if necessary pay the little bit extra to have the peace of mind that it will be covered.)
Use at your own risk. For me, RH took a simple drain snaking job that should have been about $200 and turned it into a mess that ultimately cost us about $3000 and a couple of weeks to repair and clean up. I'm debating whether it's worth wasting anymore time taking them to small claims court for what happened.
I've snaked the drain in question multiple times before by myself and by hiring reputable licensed plumbers. This time around, I put in a bid request on Yelp. RH was first to respond and came back with a price that was comparable to other quotes I received. The key difference was they had immediate availability so I chose them. The other key difference I should have caught was they didn't have a badge noting they are licensed.
Long story short, the guy they sent struggled with the drain at first and got frustrated because of the time it was taking. This definitely got my spidey sense tingling. I had some work to do so stepped away but recall seeing the guy put some funky head on the snake as I passed by. A short while later, he tells me he's done and shows me by running the sink which now drains properly. I notice an odd sewage smell but figure it must just be leftover from the snake work. I pay the guy who quickly leaves and that's when I notice that the drain is emptying alright, but water is now bubbling up from the where the concrete slab of the garage and the foundation meet.
I call RH to have the guy come back. He does, acts surprised and then tells me that the drain pipe beneath the slab is broken but it's not his fault because it was old. This is where I discover they aren't licensed and they refuse to take responsibility for damage done, in contrast to any reputable plumber. The irony is that the price they charged was exactly the same as what I was quoted by the other LICENSED plumbers. Big miss on my part. Anyway, argued in vain with the guy and his partner on the phone who tried to make the bogus argument that it was like doing heart surgery on someone elderly so they couldn't be blamed if the patient didn't make it. For poops and giggles, I asked how much they would charge to repair and they quoted me $2500 to repair just the part immediately below the concrete slab. Hell no.
At this point, I'd learned my lesson and was careful to get bids from several LICENSED plumbing operations. Three of them actually came back with quotes LESS than what RH wanted to charge me to fix the mess they made, plus they provided multi-year warranties on their work. These real plumbers also noted that the pipe would have been fine if more care and proper equipment had been used in snaking it. Those repairs are done and now have to pay even more to replace the carpeting that had to be ripped up to complete the repairs.
Anyway, very expensive and stressful lesson learned. For simple jobs that you don't really care about the quality of the work, it sometimes makes sense to hire a handyman. However, when you're hiring someone for a plumbing job that has potential to go wrong, make sure to go with a licensed and bonded operation that will stand by their work. That is not what you will get if you hire RH.

We had a badly clogged shower drain and also a leaky toilet. After calling a couple of places, we chose Reliable Handyman because he was willing to come and provide a quote in person where others would charge a fee simply to come out. I was amazed when he came already prepared with some typical toilet replacement parts since I mentioned the leak. What was even more surprising was that he was done unclogging the shower drain and fixed the toilet leak in less than 30 mins. He was so efficient and charged a very reasonable price. He definitely could have charged more if he didn't come prepared with necessary parts and had to make trip to buy parts.
I am so pleased that I now have someone reliable and honest to call. Highly recommend.

I was request for a vanity replacement. Rick has clear response with great pricing! Moreover, quick on set up schedule and clean up everything after all. All in all, he did a wonderful job! Thank you so much!! :)

I had ordered a tankless bidet toilet and needed a hand with installation. Reliable Handyman was not only responsive, but had quoted me online with provided pictures of my current toilet. The plumber came the next day ready to do the installation. However, the new toilet interfered with the water valve and we needed to reroute the line to turn 90 degrees and run along the wall. He explained that in an event of a water leak, I'll want to be able to access the valve outside the toilet and not have it stuck inside. We reschedule for the next day after he bought materials for install.
The installation was smooth. He even helped out at the end with recycling and disposing of the toilet. Appreciated the excellent service at an incredible rate. Would recommend to anyone doing plumbing.

Excellent service, Han came within 15 minutes! Quick and efficient faucet replacement. Clean job and no issues. Will repeat for future tasks.

While I rarely write reviews, I feel strongly that Reliable Handyman deserves this five star review. Our water heater broke on Saturday morning. Unlike other companies that either wanted us to wait until Monday or wanted to charge a high weekend fee. Mr. Chen arrived within one hour and was willing to go to Home Depot to purchase and replace the heater the same day! He charged a very reasonable price compared to other estimates I received. We appreciate his service and professionalism.

Fantastic service. They were very responsive knowledgeable , and was able to repair our water heater very quickly. We will use again and highly recommend .
