We take care a house next door to ours while the owner is away for a long term. We called Summers to assess and fix a problem with water under the water heater. There was also a condensate pump on the floor next to the water heater. To us, it was unclear where the water was comig from and this was pointed out to the technician. The Summer's technician determined that the problem was the water heater and replaced it at a cost of $1950. This included a $95 service fee. A few days later when we went to check on the house, the water was on the floor in the same place again. The technician returned, said the condensate pump was bad and needed to be replaced at a cost of $377 plus another $95 service fee.

After a rather lengthy conversation with the owner, the service fee was waived and we replaced the pump easily ourselves for $85. Unfortunately, the owner's and technician's refusal to even consider that water returning to the same spot immediately after an expensive replacement had been made could be due to a misdiagnosis left us with a very negative feeling about this company. We recommend that you get a second opinion before spending a lot of money with them. If you are unsatisfied with them, you get the usual 'not my responsibilty' run around.

Called Summers to diagnose problem in condo under the floor potentially in the 'common pipes' that the home owners' association is typically responsible for. Was told they were sending Consent form for my neighbor to sign. Instead, they spoke to the homeowners association behind my back. The association then attempted to harass me into paying for repairs to common areas out-of-pocket. Stay away from Summers! No ethical standards.

I would give Summers 10 stars if I could. I have been using them for HVAC and electrical work for decades. They stand by their work, show up when they say, and have always gone the extra mile. I was distressed to see the negative reviews. The company has grown and I'm sure there were some growing pains in the process, but I have never dealt with a company with more integrity. Highly recommend them!

Called these guys (on behalf of the landlord) during the hottest week of the year when A/C went out. Steve, a great tech with 18 years' experience, arrived right on time the next morning and diagnosed a dead compressor. So far, so good.

Landlord asked for a price quote. That's where things went to hell...

Steve said I'd have to wait another day for a different guy to quote. WTF? ""Steve, dude, you have 18 year's experience. Take a photo of the closet, call your office with the model number, and get a quote."" Steve says ""no can do.""

So for a second day I sat in a sweltering apartment and waited...and waited...

Around noon I called Summers and was told the estimator had ""car trouble"" (oops, we should have told you!) He arrived at 2 p.m., opened the closet, called the office with the model number, and in 5 minutes had a quote.

When I complained that Steve could have done the same thing one 95-degree-day earlier, Mr. Estimator started getting nasty: told me I didn't know anything about the HVAC industry, and then told me (the guy who had skipped work for a second day to sit in a puddle of his own sweat!) that he wasn't interested in what I thought because he had ""had a bad day.""

Then the kicker: this tool says he's the owner of the company.

In the end, his price quote was lower than a competitor, but I told the landlord I'd cover the difference so I never had to deal with Summers Quality Service again.

I was referred to this company by the manufacturer of my home heating system. Based on the referral, I felt confident that the company would be able to service my heating system. My heater was shutting off randomly. The technician came to my home on 11/27/2108 and again on 2/11/2019 for the same issue. I was charged $ 95.00 for the first service call, when all the technician did was wipe off a sensor and checked wires that he said were ok. The same problem continued, and I called the company again. This time I was told that it was a manufacturer recall for the sensor. He took the model/serial number and indicated that he would follow-up about the part and warranty coverage. I was not charged at the time of the second service call, but he told me it would be another $95.00 for coming out in addition to fixing the issue once he got more details about the part. However, the technician and the receptionist never followed-up with me when I called several times to find out when my heater would be fixed. The receptionist told me the technician would call me with details, but he never did. After several attempts and getting the run around, I had had enough. Overall, very courteous technician and receptionist. But they do not follow-up and then give you the run around when you try to get more details about when service will be completed.
