Had them come out to router a drain. $480 later job completed. Lasted for a week. Guy explains to me after the week that it really needed jetted and the auger probably wasn't going to last. About $120 more to jet it and do the job correctly. Why would they even offer the first solution that didn't work.
They did offer to come back out and jet it for the $600 didn't matter I already paid them for a job that didn't work.
NEVER USE AGAIN.
Nick S.I should have looked at all the bad reviews before calling Summers'.
1. They were the only company to charge me for taking a look at my A/C unit.
2. The technician when quoting me a new system price started trying to sell, instead of consult. ""If you act today, I can get you a deal"" which was a red flag"" and ""There are only a few left"".
3. Price quoted was 2k more for the same Lennox system than I paid from someone that was also a licensed dealer.
I hope this helps someone else .
Geraldine F.Summers says to call them if you want to pay a lot, but that's a joke. When they get to your house, at which point you've been living with a difficult situation for some time, the technician tells you they charge a flat fee--it's not a small one, pressures you, and misleads you about how long it will take to do the repair. I paid something like $225 for 45 minutes of labor. False advertising! I called to complain and said if they charge a flat fee, they need to tell you when you make the appointment and specify what it is. The manager said they couldn't name a price until the tech looks at the situation. Obviously, that makes no sense if they charge a flat fee. BTW, the office staff who set up appointments are not informed of the flat fee policy ""because that's not their job,"" according to the manager. What a way to run a business!
Mackenzie K.We have been using Summers for some years now and really appreciate how responsive and reliable they are every time something comes up. I can tell how hard their people work! Just recently we had really great service from Dustin Scheele. He was incredibly professional, friendly, and knowledgeable. I especially appreciate how incredibly thorough he was about educating me on how to properly take care of our system.
I noticed standing water in my crawlspace. I scheduled with Summers verses Reliable because Summers scheduled Monday verse Wednesday for Reliable. Summers showed up Tuesday afternoon. The plumber did not want to do the job due to the tight crawl, but he did. He found that the freezing temperatures popped off the cap on one of my lines. He replaced with a SharkBite cap which he had to go get at his columbus location (wish it would have been a sawdered cap) but he said that was all he they had. He said nothing was busted and that he would have to charge me a minimum fee of $652.52 cents! I happen to have a reliable coupon that they matched with took $50 dollars off down to $595.52. He sanded and pushed on the SharkBite. This is highway robbery. I feel like I was way overcharged. The invoice doesn't even break down the cost. I won't be using this company ever again and would not recommend.
I have been a customer for over 15 years. Had a plumber out approximately 2 weeks ago to reinstall toilets (2) after the floor was replaced. While I had problems with the pricing, ultimately they made the price reasonable. On 12/26, I had a pipe burst and the tech was timely, friendly, proficient and reasonable on price. He was at my house within 1 hour and all he asked for was my address. I had an appointment for my winter service plan for Jan 5 (yes, that was the date to do preseason maintenance). I called to change the appointment date, and they wouldn't let me do it until I confirmed information, including the address, phone, backup phone, billing address, and more. I got upset because they wouldn't talk about why I called until they finished with the questions. I asked for a supervisor and told none were available. I ended the conversation and dialed back. On call back, the person looked up, rescheduled the appointment. I explained my previous call and she was apologetic. Less than 5 minutes later I got a call from a customer service supervisor. The call went bad. She explained that this was policy to confirm information and basically talked down to me. It has become hit or miss on the tech, the service center, but mostly customer service center. I own a business and I'm not going to be right all the time, but I would be out of business if I paid attention to customers the way they did.
Ridiculously expensive bordering on rip-off artists. I had a few faucets that needed some rubber gaskets. The cost was disgusting. I paid because I did not know what it should have cost and needed it fixed. I was also roped in to an expensive service fee. Buyers remorse doesn't even come close to the frustration I had when I spoke with another plumber and did some research and discovered I paid 4X what I should have.
They try to rope you into a service contract the first 5 minutes they are at your house. They offer you a discount on the service if you sign up. They try and give you bunch of exaggerated horror stories about certain things in your house breaking down any moment. I have a brand new water heater and was told that it was due for service. It's really an uncomfortable situation.
Lastly the plumber who showed up was crass and condescending. He treated me like I was stupid when I didn't sign up for the service plan. Sadly, I was stupid. I should have paid the ridiculous service fee and called another plumber. I would have saved hundreds of dollars.
My next stop is a posting to the BBB. Avoid.
Justin J.Utterly incompetant. Sleezeball plumber tried to tell me every single thing he looked at needed to be replaced with new stuff. He literally said he couldn't take apart a 6 year old faucet. If I didn't know anything about plumbing I would now be about $10,000 in the hole. The pricing quotes he had were about three times higher than the competition. Stay away from these lying plumbers.
Kelly R.When I lived in Indianapolis, I used Summers of Broad Ripple. I always had great service. So when I moved to Nobleville, I thought I'd give this franchise location a try. I live in Old Town, and the pipes are galvanized. I was looking for a quote to get my pipes updated. Had them scheduled to come out Wednesday July 6, and I was expecting a quote the next day, per the employee. Well the next day came and went. I called the office on Friday to get an update..still no luck. It's been 1.5 weeks and I have not heard anything back from them. Thankfully I had another company come out this past Wednesday and they are amazing. It's a lot of work, so maybe that's why I never heard back. But a call letting me know it is out of their scope would have been nice. Now due to this, I will be finding another company to do my annual maintenance on plumbing and HVAC.
Susan W.Appt at 10, showed up at 8. Was in a hurry to get to ""the lake."" Said we had cracks in our heat exchanger and don't use or we will have a fire. Had another consult and not the case.
