UPDATE - they removed the equipment and gave me a refund
These people took advantage of me and my situation. I should've known better but my air conditioner quit working and had to be replaced. I called Summers because of their positive reviews and now know how important it is to leave factual reviews. They charged me $21,445 for an air conditioner, a furnace and labor to install. They even used the existing ductwork. They made it sound like this pricing is normal. It's not. They said that every customer sees the same options and price list. They took advantage of my situation and my lack of knowledge. They are the professionals but they cannot be trusted to be honest. They will not provide me an itemized receipt because they know they are THIEVES!
DO NOT TRUST THEM! Please learn from my mistake!

Joshua D.SCAM, beware! I paid over $800 for a garbage disposal replacement after being told by phone the unit they were installing retailed for $563. I have the recorded phone call to prove it. Turns out, the unit only costs about $100. I have been ignored, avoided, not called back by Summers for 7 months now while I attempt to resolve this. I don't even have my receipt from them yet! After being disrespected by phone today I have given up on them. I submitted a BBB complaint and am taking it to small claims court. Save your money and your frustration. Go with literally anyone else.
Andrew R.Be prepared for the up charge! I reached out to Summers for a basement project quote. Their initial quote said that they would require at least a full day for the job. The price that was quoted seemed a bit high to start with and before I had an opportunity to discuss the absolute lack of details... literally the quote was the boat basic description and a price written onto a piece of paper and handed to me... They quickly pulled out their flip book of ""added items"" that they could provide me with. Laughably it included their own extended warranty... so if I pay the already high price I get a shorter warranty than if I agree to pay an even higher price? Additionally their extended warranty included ""quicker appointment scheduling"". So people that don't pay extra get to be ignored for longer?
This whole process felt more like a shake down than anything else. Additionally the job was described in illusive and vague terms as to why the price was so high. Unfortunately for them, they never asked why I was calling them to begin with. I'm more than capable of doing the job myself but at the time I had other more pressing priorities and I needed this done for me.
Ultimately I ended up calling another local plumber and he came out same day, completed the job in 3 hours, but a full day, and did it for 40% less without the hassle of trying to upsell his own work. He also said that he'd be happy to come back out if any issues came up in the next year at no cost.
I am leaving this review as 3-star because I am giving them credit for being decent plumbers despite being miserable salesman. Leave the upselling for the fast food drive thru and restaurants. Quote and honest and competitive price and stand by your work.... do force people to pay more for what you should be doing anyways.
I forgot one of the first rules of supply and demand. The one that says once you pay for something in advance... like a maintenance agreement... you become the LAST priority for service. Over a 6 week wait just to have routine maintenance. It is clear this company is preying on consumers who initiate these kinds of contracts. Keep control of the situation and don't sign these agreements. Make Summers compete for your business. With service agreements... you lose the ability to force them to compete.
Greg S.Zach did a great job of explaining the issues of our aging furnace and, upon request, of comparing newer models carried by Summers. After selecting a new and improved model, which was already in stock, we were able to schedule the installation just two days later. The installation team of Adam, Tanner, and Jacob provided friendly, thorough and efficient service. They took time to answer questions and review features and their check-up policy and still finished the job ahead of schedule. I would definitely recommend Summers for any heating and cooling needs.
Took 45 minutes to do a 410.00 job. The guy changed out two small pc pipes and put on shut off valves. Looked at the pipe in the shower. After we cut a huge hole in the wall. When the guy was done I asked him why so much. Hi response was well it cost for us to have these new trucks for us to get piss tested for our training 3 times a week gas materials paying this that. Ok so you've gotta charge a person 100.00 for every 10 minutes or so your working on there home. Hmmmm nope I do not ever recommend them to anyone. Word of mouth goes very very far and rest assured we will use ours.
Awesome work!! Richard did not try to replace everything. He simply cleaned up faucet and tightened it, replaced a handle and all is good. It was just over $100. I had another company in here a month ago and they wanted to replace everything and quoted me over $800. I appreciate honest, quality work. Thank you!!!
We have used Summers for about 4 years now and we are very pleased with their services! They don't hesitate to get to you when you call for assistance ! They're are kind, courteous and very knowledgeable! We will always call them when we have a plumbing or heatimg issue!
Huge rip-off artists. I wish I could give them zeros stars. Charged my 80-year old mother $261 to replace a $15 fill valve in a toilet. It took 45 minutes. I would never use these guys. There is a special place for people who rip off the elderly.
