Larry lost his father when he was still in high school. He didn't care about academic performance, and his mother found it hard to provide for the family. Without a clear path, he was uncertain about his life. A pal suggested he join him to Lancaster for a technical school admissions test. He hesitated, he went along. Once there, they talked him into taking the entry test. In a surprising turn, his friend was turned away, but Larry was accepted and gained admission at Thaddeus Stevens Trade College. Eventually, he learned that they focused on helping underprivileged families access education and trade skills. He earned his degree from Stevens as the ""Most Outstanding Plumber."" He returned to his hometown of Penn Township and brought 40 years of experience to that!
