Larry lost his father when he was still in high school. He was indifferent to academic performance, and his mother found it hard to support the family. Lacking direction, he felt lost about his life. A pal suggested he tag along to Lancaster for a vocational school admissions test. Reluctant to go, he decided to go. Upon arrival, they convinced him taking the admissions test. In a twist of fate, his friend was turned away, but Larry was accepted and gained admission at Thaddeus Stevens Trade College. Eventually, he learned that they were dedicated to helping underprivileged families receive education and trade skills. Larry graduated from Stevens as the ""Most Outstanding Plumber."" He came back to his hometown of Penn Township and contributed 40 years of experience to that!
