Atul V.The customer service is very bad. I mean really bad. No one answers phone calls, you get connected to a voicemail, and it appears they never check their voice mails. I say that because when I finally got connected (after three calls and one email) they said you have to talk live to get them to do anything ... now only if they would let you talk live.
While I will not say they were rude, but they just don't care and are totally unprofessional. The way I would describe their attitude is ""well its your faucet that is broken, its your problem not mine"". So, even after 2 days of chasing them, I do not have any appointment scheduled.
I got stuck with them because they were assigned by my home warranty for this repair. My advise is, if you have a choice, do not use them.
Bottomline, my kitchen is out of operation for last 3 days, so I am calling my home warranty service to reassign to some other plumbing service.
Zero starts is more like it. These people do not ever answer their phone or return calls. They were assigned as the contractor through First American Home Warranty almost 2 weeks ago and have yet to even see the property. I have called and left messages for them several times and so has my tenant and neither of us has received a return phone call to schedule the plumbing leak to be fixed.
I requested a different contractor which has already been assigned.
I was assigned Street Plumbing by my home warranty company. It was an emergency, and I mentioned that very clearly while writing the complain. We were called by Street Plumbing next day in the morning, and was given a time window. After that there was a silence. No body showed up during the scheduled time or called to reschedule. I tried calling them and got voice mail always.
They need to learnt to value customer's time.
I am still waiting for someone to show up so cannot comment on the quality.
This is the second time I used Street Plumbing through my Home Warranty provider.
The first time was for a clogged bathroom shower. The technician Genesis came out and attempted to unclog the drain with his auger but said he was not able to go down far enough. He said it needed to be hydrojetted. The Home Warranty provider referred me to another plumber. This plumber came out and said hydrojetting was not appropriate for this job and quickly used his auger and cleared the drain.
Yesterday, my Home Warranty provider referred me to Street Plumbing for a clogged kitchen sink. The same technician Genesis came out and didn't even attempt to unclog the drain. He said since I did not have a cleanout specifically for the kitchen sink he recommended a hydrojet. He said this for the shower before. He told the Home Warranty provider I had no cleanout when in fact I took him outside to show him the ground level cleanout. Because he told the Home Warranty provider I had no cleanout they denied this service call. I had to take a photo of the ground level cleanout and send it to them to approve the service call. After they received the photo they referred me to another plumber. This plumber quickly used his auger machine and cleared the clog from the drain without removing the trap. He said you can't have a kitchen sink cleanout for a second floor kitchen.
Street Plumbing wasted my time and caused me headaches by giving false information to the Home Warranty provider. The plumber falsely told me the Home Warranty provider ""red flagged"" the service call because of previous clog drains. This was made up because when I spoke with the provider they explained I am covered for this service. Twice their plumber did not know how to unclog sinks when other plumbers fixed it quickly.

The issue:
The company initially wanted to charge us $250 for permit and processing for a new water heater. The tech put me in touch with an internal service representative SHARON HIPOL, because she was supposedly better able to help me understand the permit requirements online. On the phone she completely lied..three times. First she stated San Mateo County charges $200 for permits (lie #1). I asked her to help me understand online where she saw that. She walked me through the online process...and when I checked on the San Mateo County website, I confirmed wither her thee fee I saw on the website was was $85. Then she said their company had to call the San Mateo County office in order to get that quote and their company's out of pocket cost was $120 (lie #2). Based upon her logic, I asked her if the ""processing fee"" was $140. She dodged the questions. During this whole time she was rude, she kept on cutting me off, and I was unable to even ask clarification questions. Finally she stated that no matter what county I lived in, it was a flat $250 processing fee (lie #3). As someone who used to work in a call center and have to deal with thousands of unhappy customers, I was in complete shock of her rudeness, her lack of professionalism, and outright awfulness. I don't know what kind of company hires these kind of individuals.
The service we received from the service tech, WESLEY was outstanding however. He was kind, he explained every line item, and he was patient in helping me understand exactly what we were paying for. SHARON HIPOL, however, needs some remedial customer service training.
BUYER BEWARE OF SHARON HIPOL. Please, for the love of God, get her some remedial customer service training.
Had a great experience with this company, who came through our home warranty. Genesis was our tech - professional, efficient, communicative, and super friendly. He assessed and replaced our broken instant hot water heater for us. I will certainly be asking for him again.
Additionally, this company will text you when the tech is on it's way - a valuable service for anyone who's crunched for time.
Kimberly B.Terrible, terrible company. We had no choice but to use Street Plumbing because we went through our Home Warranty and they assigned this company to us. We had a leak in our main water line and Street Plumbing came to fix it, but the job was sloppy and they left a total mess in our front yard. Less than two years later, the water line started leaking again. I called a few plumbers and one of them suggested that I call Street Plumbing again because most plumbing companies put a warranty on their work, especially when it came to big jobs like main water line replacement. Well, of course it came to no surprise that the owner of Street responded to my call rudely and said that in all his years of doing plumbing work, there have never been any issues. I guess he hasn't been reading the plethora of 1-star reviews on here. He even had the audacity of blaming my kids for the leak, making accusations that perhaps they climbed on the pipes and caused the pipes to break. First of all, my kids play in the back yard, not in the front. Second, they are tiny. And third, the pipes are located in an area that is not appealing for my kids to play around in. It was an irritating conversation and a waste of my time and effort to even think that this company had some sort of redeeming factor to it. For those who have home warranty, if you get assigned to this company, I highly suggest that you push back and request for a different company to service your house. Don't risk it.
Janice M.My water heater went out on a Saturday of a Holiday weekend, so my home warranty referred this company, which is why I think there are so many negative reviews. It seems to be more about communication than the actual work. The technician Rudy was a nice guy, polite and courteous, however there were several issues that could have been handled better. He promised to call us later that evening with a quote as to how much it was going to cost us, for what the warranty didn't pay, and then if we approved it he would be out the next day to install it, but that never happened! I had to call the warranty company the next day, then call the plumbing company to schedule the work, which the soonest they could schedule it was now the next day, which was now 6 days without hot water for showers! On installation day they gave me a window of 11-2 and he showed up at 4:00, but I was happy he showed up! Rudy came with another coworker, and they were fast and efficient, and everything seems to be working great as of now! I am still waiting for the city to inspect the work, and pass the job, so I will keep my fingers crossed!
Lisa G.Rudy came out this AM about an hour and fifteen minutes into a two hour window. Before entering the house he put on shoe coverings without me asking which was respectful. He took a look at the issue in my shower, got his tools and got to work.
The entire service call was all of about 20 minutes. He left the shower clean and promptly issued a receipt. No nonsense, no wheeling and dealing. Just a reasonable, timely job.
Ryan T.I had a home warranty repair request that went through Street Plumbing. Seth was dispatched and did a great job installing a new water heater. Once the paperwork on Street Plumbing's administrative side completed the documents I scheduled for the city of San Jose to do the compliance certification. The inspector passed the installation and stated it was a great job. Thanks Seth!
