We have attempted to discuss a bill with Service Experts. After leaving numerous (at least 8) messages with their office to report our concerns, finally we were told that we "Got a good deal". Our concerns weren't addressed at all which was that our service guy seemed drunk or impaired in some way and that it took him an excessively long time to replace the freon and repairing a pinhole leak. 3 days later we get a call from a collection agency demanding payment. We have never and would never avoid paying a bill but expect that the concerns in any situation be addressed. Interestingly enough, if you listen the the message while on hold, it says that if you are unhappy for any reason your money will be refunded. What a crock!!!

Strand brothers have nice techs who spend time on your unit, but unfortunately they do not finish the job. It's been 6 weeks since I noticed an A/C problem and I've had 4 guys out to the house. The problem has been identified but no one from the service department has contacted me to follow up to actually repair my unit. I've given them several tries to get this right...and a couple hundred dollars worth of house calls. Don't call them if you want dependability or efficiency. I've got another group ready to fix my unit after one visit!

We had an excellent experience with Strand Brothers.
I feel like HVAC is always sort of a losing battle, nobody likes the bill and it's always bad news, so it's difficult to weed out the good from the incompetent from the unlucky. Prior to Strand coming in, we got some unlucky and incompetent people, both, so yes, we were grateful when Lance from Strand came in and solved our issue quickly and competently. I've waited over a week to write this, to make suuuuure that the repair took; everything appears to be tickety boo now. Rest assured if things mess up, I'll update. However again, you can't confuse having bad luck with a crappy HVAC system with incompetence on the tech's part.
First of all, the tech figured out the problem almost instantly. But that's not what was so great. What we really appreciated was how, besides the repair, Lance took the time to explain what can happen (in this instance, drain clog), how to avoid it, he showed us where the system drains, labelled where to put vinegar so we can clean the system ourselves every time we change the filter, and gave us a nice understanding of what was going on with our unit. He gave us helpful tips on maintenance, both inside and outside and most importantly (to US, anyways) was not pushy about trying to get us to sign up for something - he was respectful and professional and really very nice.
We're the kind of people who always go back to a sure thing, whether it's a restaurant or a service company, but so far so good with these guys. I'll let you know in the spring if they're still on my 5-star list.

We called Strand Brothers because they installed our air conditioning system 8 years ago and it was not cooling well. The technician came in and the first thing he announced was it was going to cost us $89 even if he did nothing. He then proceeded to tell us we had a refrigerant leak and that it was most likely a coil, and quoted us anywhere from $1,000 to $3,000. He didn't know if it was under warranty, even though they are the ones who installed it, but warned us that if we didn't decide to fix it right then, they would probably charge another $89 when they came back. We decided to get a second opinion and the second a/c company identified that there was no leak, that the condenser was filled with dirt, and he cleaned it out and put a new capasater on it to help take the strain off of it - and it is the coolest it has been all summer and the condenser is much, much quieter. I will never call Strand again.

I had a great experience with Strand Brothers, specifically Benjii and Horace in the office. The price is what a customer should pay for an evaporator coil replacement under warranty, whereas no less than 5 other companies wanted to charge me 50 to 110% more! They were on time on Benjii paid attention to detail. I will request him if I have future AC needs.

Wow - completely ripped me off on an issue to come check for leaks. Have had two other estimates and reviews and it's obvious they overcharged me and possibly fabricated the amount of coolant used. I spent over $400 just for the "leak detection" and for them to come out. On top of that they didn't even keep a record of the part I need so I got a call someone else would need to come back. I've called twice and emailed to ask for money back with no response. This seems like a scam.

And just a FYI. I've called and sent emails to speak with a manager. They don't return your calls either.

Five star service for our home every time. We've had routine maintenance services as well as complete duct replacement, home comfort upgrades and emergency A/C repair. All technicians that have come to our home have been kind, knowledgeable and trustworthy. We highly recommend your home to be in Strand's care. Sourcing a reliable HVAC & plumbing company is a must and we are blessed to have Strand Brothers Services.

The customer service is terrible. I live out of state and managing my condo with a tenant. The A/C went out and gave Strand Brothers a call. A technician came out and according to my tenant, spent all of 10 minutes on the roof looking at the unit. Charged me $89 and called to tell me that the unit was shot and needed to be replaced. I asked if it was even repairable and he said yes, and quoted me $4,600 over the phone. I was going through my warranty company to try and get it fixed so I needed a detailed report of the problem. He said he would have it to me by the end of that day. Nothing.
I called the next day and spoke to a woman about it, and she e-mailed me my "receipt". There was nothing more on the receipt than "recommend replacing system due to old age and condition". So I said, if it needs to be replaced, I need to know exactly what parts and a detailed invoice for the work so that I can get it approved through my warranty. She said that she'd need to get me in contact with a "comfort specialist" to come and quote me for a new $8-$13K system! When I told her that the technician quoted me a repair over the phone and that I wanted to go that route, she said that she'd have to reach out to the technician and get more information and get back to me. Nothing for the rest of the day. The high was 108 that day.
I called again the next morning to speak to someone again, got a different person, but she made it a point to tell me that she was sitting right next to the person that helped me the day before and that they are working on the issue and that they will get back to me as soon as they can. She said that I could call back around 3 or 4 if I had not heard anything by then. So I did, and got the same person. She said she didn't have an update. So I said that this was totally unacceptable and she put me through to her manager who told me that the technician is on another job and that she couldn't pull him off of a job when he's with another customer. I was outraged. I asked her for my $89 back and never received the refund.
Desperate, I called another company that I found through a google search, Classic Aire Mechanical, Inc. and spoke with Pete, the owner. Not only was he out at my place within 2 hours, he actually replaced one part and got the system up and running within the hour. The charge was $225! How incredibly amazing. He didn't doubt that I could probably use another system, but said that ALL of the units on the roof were pretty old. He quoted me about $5K for a new system. How interesting.
Lesson learned.

We have a duplex that developed plumbing problems. Strand went on 8-2-18 (Thursday) and they put a camera down the pipe to see what damage had been done. They said there was a broken pipe and they'd have to repair it. I called USAA to file an insurance claim and was told they needed Strand's estimate of repairs.
I called Strand that same day and gave detailed information, claim number, my email, and told them this. He said he'd pass the information on.
By the next Tuesday, nothing had been done and our tenant was, understandably, getting anxious. I called Strand again and asked for the estimate. USAA said they had received nothing and had given Strand an email to send it.
I received a call Wednesday from Strand. The caller thought I was ok'ing the repairs and was ready to make the appointment to begin. NO! I needed the estimate! She said she'd tell the plumbing dept.
Thursday, called USAA...no communication from Strand. Called Strand AGAIN. Oh. They forgot to tell me they don't do third party claims and would be sending me the estimate which I could send to USAA that day. Fine.
It's Friday. No estimate yesterday or in today's email. I called AGAIN and gave the info AGAIN. She said she contacted the plumbing dept. and they said they'd get it done today. Really? I told her that it had been a week and nothing had been done. "A week?" she asked. "Yes." "Oh, I'll get right on it." Yeah, Sure.
Bottom line. Avoid Strand brothers at all costs.
