If I could give negative stars I would. A year ago (December 2017) they put in a tankless hot water heater for me and it wasn't even put in according to code. In addition they installed air conditioners and heaters for me. My house was left a mess, and they left my outside hose running for days. Less than a year later of course the hot water heater it is leaking water everywhere and shutting itself off. We call and they come move it to bring it code after I have to tell them it is not at code. They leave after day one and leave me with no heater (its cold outside and no hot water). They also left the outside hose running all night last night. And right now on a Friday they still cannot get my heater working agin after being here all day and its only a year old. The one they installed-that was working fine until the came to fix the hot water heater. They are packing ip to leave at 4:45 on a Friday and their only solution is I don't have a heater and I should wait until Monday. Not only DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE RUN FAST AWAY.........They did it they just left and expect me to live the weekend without a heater in December. I called the office and all supervisors leave at 4 and the women told me she would have someone call me. RIGHT. I will be contacting the city of Austin about their against code installation.
Not reliable and pricey
First experience : AC service guy shows up and tells us that our AC is old and needs to be replaced. Quoted over $10,000. Our AC is less than 10yrs old. I requested him to refill the refrigerant and our AC was back to normal. Charged $150 per pound of refrigerant. Extremely pricey.
Second experience : Scheduled heater service and no one showed up. After calling them realized that they accidentally scheduled for 2019 instead of 2018. Did not apologize for their error.
My sewer line was overflowing, has happened twice before ended up paying approximately $300.00 each time to have line unblocked, literally took the technician 10-15 minutes each time. When it happened today, I was reaching down to unscrew the top and my neighbor came over and advised that the city of Round Rock will unblock the line for absolutely free! zero dollars! nada! I understand Strand Brothers is in the business of making money, but couldn't they ask you if you tried the City of Round Rock?, like hey customer service idea here Mr. Customer did you know the City of Round Rock, might be able to help you for free? if they can't help please call us back and we will be happy to help you. I'm a repeat customer of Strand Brothers and this whole situation has tarnished their reputation in my eyes.

We hired Strand Brothers in 2011 to install a new HVAC system in our house, thinking a newer system would save us money on our electric bills. Boy, were we wrong. The Rheem unit they installed failed within the first year, and we spent at least $7K over the years applying band-aid over (expensive) band-aid. The unit was clearly a lemon, and even through the Strand salesman provided us with a "no-lemon guarantee," when it came to backing up his promise all we got were regular breakdowns and repair bills. The techs who made service calls all seemed to agree that the unit was a lemon, and some were puzzled by the way it was installed in the first place (i.e. a drain line poked through the soffit right above our front door, which leaked while we were out of town and ruined all of the wood flooring in our entryway). I can't really blame the techs who made service calls. It is the management and salespeople who are the problem. I am relieved I no longer have to do business with them. Beware.
Absolutely ripped us off. Had another person come look at our work and he immediately knew what was wrong and how to fix it.
Branden A.Very disappointed in the service I received.
I requested a service on a home I was interested in purchasing. I wanted an HVAC inspection. $250 seemed like the going rate, so nothing surprising there ... until the technician arrived. His van looked as if it could explode at any minute. He did some tests, concluded there was a leak and made a quick exit. I followed up with leak inspection ... another $150. The same technician arrived and quickly concluded the leak was in the coils which means a full replacement. HARD PASS! Ultimately the seller and myself had it reinspected by a more reputable firm. They provided a full report: compressor amps, bad relay, no leak, system charge, etc. They had no problem providing me a written report since I scheduled and funded the service. I have since attempted to get a written report from Strand. Here is where it gets really interesting. Although I had the homeowner authorize the inspection, Strand will not send me the report. They want a separate authorization for the report than the scheduling of the report. Something they SHOULD have indicated when they were find taking my $400. Something they were fine providing me verbal recommendations.
So fast forward a couple of weeks and I know have purchased the home. I am now the homeowner. I paid for the service, but mysteriously they can't seem to get me the written inspection. "I don't understand what happened. I sent your contact information to dispatch."
Next stop ... requesting a refund. This should be fun.
Sanjay P.I would also give no stars. This place is not cheap. We spent thousands. I felt like I went to a nice steak restaurant and received the worst steak I have ever eaten. YOU CAN'T SAY 100% GUARANTEE it means nothing when you don't back it up. Been at least a year. Still no follow up.
Claudia M.Just this morning had Darin from Strand Brothers come to service my ..........could you believe furnace... I am anticipating cold weather.
No honestly I get my units checked twice a year, and these guys are the best. Of course they installed the air conditioner and the furnace unit so why not use them, the best. Darin had some suggestions for the upkeep of my unit, but other than that all was great. Thanks again for good people, and a great company to keep my home both warm and cool. Thanks, guys, thanks Darin.
Our A/C quit working during the summer on a Sunday. Strand Brothers was able to come out the same day. The technician found that our drain was clogged and unclogged it. We had our A/C restored in no time. Unfortunately the the drain wasn't completely unclogged and we ended up having another company out who unclogged it completely.
Lori R.We have attempted to discuss a bill with Service Experts. After leaving numerous (at least 8) messages with their office to report our concerns, finally we were told that we "Got a good deal". Our concerns weren't addressed at all which was that our service guy seemed drunk or impaired in some way and that it took him an excessively long time to replace the freon and repairing a pinhole leak. 3 days later we get a call from a collection agency demanding payment. We have never and would never avoid paying a bill but expect that the concerns in any situation be addressed. Interestingly enough, if you listen the the message while on hold, it says that if you are unhappy for any reason your money will be refunded. What a crock!!!
