I would not recommend. I heard by word of mouth that this was a great company, a family owned business that charged reasonable prices and had great service. Well, it is a family owned business but that's the extent of it. I feel they over bathe and are not professional.

Steve and Steve, father and son, came into my home and immediately looked around and made comments on my furniture . They also glanced at a pile of my paperwork. I found this to be intrusive and unusual. I asked if they had shoe covers (no) and they did not offer to take off their shoes. Most companies like Cooper are meticulous about keeping floor clean. Then they went to work on my clogged drain with a snake. After about 10 minutes, they wiped the floor and tub sort of clean with a rag and presented me with a bill for 120.00. This, for 10 minutes of work? A round trip and the work probably took all of an hour--that's a lot per hour.
I would pay this for a complicated problem or something after hours and emergency but his is ridiculous. When I questioned the billI was told that they had just raised prices and that they had to make a living. I would say that's a pretty good living for very little effort and professionalism.

The good part of this experience is that I realized I can go to Home Depot, buy a snake, and do this myself.

Hot water heater leaks & dies on a Fri night. Landlord calls plumbers Sat, most don't answer the phone & most want to charge to come look at it. Landlord finds someone who can install a new one Mon, at a very high price. I'm a contractor who was referred to Steve's Plumbing by a good customer of mine, so I sent Steve a text at 4:30 Sat afternoon see if there's any chance of getting something done sooner & helping our landlord save some money...""Let me see what I can do""...he calls back less than an hour later, ""got one, I can do it tomorrow morning for you at 8:30""... ON A SUNDAY!!!! And it was half the price of the company that was gonna come out on Monday. As a contractor myself who has survived a long time on word of mouth, reliability & honesty, Steve & I might as well be related! He will get a lot of future customers from me. I'm so glad I kept his business card & finally found a local guy that I can confidently refer to anyone who needs an honest, reliable plumber...do you know how important that is!?!

I had a drain pipe with a leak, and a bath spout that needed to be installed. Steve and his son came out a day after I called and arrived on time. They quoted $100/hour plus parts and said they could do both jobs in under an hour. They finished both jobs in 45 min and charged $105. This is a little more expensive than other plumbers, but they knew what they were doing, arrived on time, were pleasant and patient, and charged exactly what they quoted. I would definitely use them again.

[Update[ Steve installed a gas line from our basement to our kitchen and it actually leaked. We could smell gas upstairs. We had a gas company look at it and they asked if they had a gotten a permit or inspection. Nope. I called him to ask about it and he seemed almost offended that I asked him to get a permit and fix it. When we had them come look at it they did a soap test and denied a problem, but still did something that ended up fixing the problem. Got it inspected and it worked fine after that.

[old review] Steve and his son Steven are a really effective team. They did a great job and gave a very reasonable rate. The reason for not giving 5-stars is simply that there is room for improvement- for example, when scheduling someone making sure you have the right day and time, or being clearer about the progress of a job. I would absolutely use them again, though, because in the end they did a great job.
