Shari I.Technician Alex A and Ryan were great. They fixed my gas leak to my stove. They explained everything and made the repair and left the area very clean and neat!!
Over priced and very unprofessional ! Quoted and charged double what it should have cost. I revived a different quote from another company and the job was done in pretty much the same time they estimated.
I'm really dissatisfied. First, it is ridiculous HOW MUCH Steve's plumbing charges for service. Second, HOW THEY QUOTE you should be illegal. I had a tenant who had a leaking stop valve by the toilet - a $10 part at the hardware store. I knew what the problem was because old stop valves often fail and, it is clear as day what the issue is when it goes, it's either a leaking hose, toilet hardware, or the stop valve itself. If there is no leaking water on the hose or below the tank and above the valve, it is the stop valve - an assessment that can be done easily over the phone. Which I did. However, despite informing the scheduling person that I knew exactly what the problem was, and what needed to be replaced, they insisted that I pay for an assessment by one of their techs - a charge of $39.95. I told them over the phone that I knew it needed a new stop valve and asked how much that would cost. The office agent told me they couldn't quote me anything because they aren't given that information and that it is the tech's job to tell what the price is after the assessment. Right here, I should have hung up the phone and contacted a different plumber. But I'm a dummy and I figured ""$40 to look at it isn't so bad"". Then, for the installation of the $10.00 stop valve, a job that takes no longer then 45 minutes for even a novice to do, they charged me a whopping $304.00. So after the assessment and and after taxes the total charge was $360.16. Worse yet, I misheard the tech over the phone and thought the charge was 316. Because 316 sounds a lot like 360. But the difference of 50 bucks is pretty huge when you're already paying waaay too much for the job (360 is waaaay to much for a single stop valve - I have other rental properties and have paid a plumber $75 for a single stop valve replacement). The only reason I'm not giving one star is that it appears the stop valve was correctly installed by the tech and I harbor no ill will for techs who have to work during covid because that sucks, however $360 for a $75 job is a laughable joke. And unfortunately, the joke was on me. I personally think it's an abusive and illegal pricing tactic to refuse to quote a specific job price until AFTER they have charged you $40 bucks for a visit and AFTER they have a tech at your place. Obviously, by the time you realize that they are charging a RIDICULOUSLY EXPENSIVE amount for the service, they already took you for $40.00 and wasted your time scheduling to have them come out. If you say ""no"" for the rest of the job, you will just lose your $40 and have to waste even more time sending another plumber out. It's a crooked and anti-consumer pricing scheme and, worse yet - it's intentional since the office refused to give me a quote for the stop valve. As, I would have most definitely scoffed and contacted another plumber immediately if they said it would be $360.16. So, since Steve's won't tell you how much it costs over the phone, unless you pay them $40.00, here it is: A new stop valve from Steve's will set you back $360.16; you should probably call another plumber. I just saved you $40.00.
We had a toilet that would not retain water in the tank. My son got a new part & replaced the non functioning part. It worked for awhile however the problem re-occurred. Decided to call Steve's Plumbing and was most pleased with their work, efficiency, and customer service. They stopped the water running temporarily but it re-occurred while they were in my house. I told them that water bill last month doubled and then they checked for a leak. After considerable investigative work it lead back to the problem toilet. Pilar, the tech and his assistant in training told me that they will return in the morning to fix the problem. Pilar was prompt and spent some time to correct the problem. He did and we were most grateful-tank is retaining water & there isn't a leak! Thank you Pilar and now your firm is on ""my call"" if another plumbing issue should arise!
Diana helped me to schedule our service and Zach was the tech that came to my home. Both were very polite and professional. I really appreciated the immediate response to my plumbing needs and Zach really showed some skills in how quickly he diagnosed and resolved my plumbing emergency. Thank you to them both!
Erik P.Hector was an awesome technician. He was on-time, explained all the costs upfront, removed the clog from our main drain, and got us back up and running in an hour. Would recommend Steve's Plumbing to anyone that needs fast and friendly service. Thank you again!
Ronald P.I actually feel kind of jipped. LEARN FROM ME! I recommend you shop around with local handy men and plumbers who will freely give quotes. I did not feel like I was given an honest quote. 2 stars because it seemed like a good job, prompt completion and friendly service, but cost doesn't seem reasonable and quote and process don't seem very honest... I doubt they'd give me a refund to adjust this extremely high cost, even during these hard times because they make you sign some agreements so yeah... I should've gotten additional quotes because a quick search of the expected cost for a toilet shut off valve replacement revealed that we were charged much higher than the average national cost... the technician himself and customer service rep was friendly and it wasn't them that made me feel pressured to go through, but their process: 1) They make you pay a significant dispatch fee, which pressures you into using their service. 2) They don't quote before sending their technician. Meaning you pay that significant dispatch fee for the quote when many others will give free estimates based on a description and picture. 3) They offered several outrageously priced options. I chose the cheapest one and so me being inexperienced with handy work felt like I was getting a deal by choosing the cheapest option that still fulfilled my need. It gave the illusion of a reasonable cost. If you are the business owner/manager reading this, I'd love to hear your feedback and explanation as to why the cost was so high this service and materials I know are really cheap. And again these are hard times man, to be jipped like this sucks.
A stubborn, persistent clogged toilet has got to be one of the most frustrating things ever. We spent over a week off and on and several different techniques trying to fix ours ourselves, only to finally helplessly give up and search Yelp for a plumber. Steve's Plumbing Service was highly rated, and I was so busy I didn't bother to call anyone else. They were quick to answer, identified our needs and booked us an appointment. (Note: I love that they're open 24 hours, according to their site!) The technician who came out, Aaron, was very polite and professional, and had our stubborn toilet unclogged using an auger within minutes! He also tended to our leaky tub faucet and got that fixed as well. He explained everything to us, and we could tell he was very experienced and knowledgeable in his work. Prices were reasonable and he even gave us a discount and $25 off rewards card for future! Extra points: they gave us a 3-hour window of when the technician might arrive, but I love that the dispatcher called us that day to say exactly when the technician was leaving his home, so we could better prepare and know we wouldn't have to wait the whole 3 hours! I also should note that Aaron wore a mask the entire time, which I really appreciate because several other contractors for home repairs have come to our house wearing no masks and I just find that really disrespectful, let alone unsafe. Mahalo for being COVID-19 compliant! We'll definitely be recommending Steve's to anyone else needing plumbing services.
Thank Steve's Plumbing and Hector for your great professionalism and service! We appreciate it in these trying times.
Matt was very professional and considerate as we are in a covid world. May not necessarily be the cheapest but you are paying for the quality, peace of mind, and quick response time to my urgent matter. I will definitely call them again for my next plumbing issue.
