Company Overview

Community-based full-scale plumbing company offering service and repair, construction plumbing and planning.

Steve Silva Plumbing, Inc. has been a locally owned business serving the Napa Valley for over three decades. Through direction and mentorship from management, and hard work from our staff, we are committed to assisting our clients with transparency and providing the utmost in plumbing services!

Local resident Steve Silva enjoys hands-on work and being outdoors, which motivated him to join the building industry after completing school. In 1983, the market was growing in California, and Silva sensed an opportunity to start his own venture.

“I recognized that quality plumbing services were hard to find in Napa Valley,” said Silva. “The challenge was learning how to be a good businessman rather than a plumber.”

Silva achieved the winning combination. This year marks Steve Silva Plumbing's in operation, with 27 years at its established address on Enterprise Drive in the Napa Valley Corporate Park. No competitor in Napa Valley provides the complete range of services that we do, including repairs and maintenance, both residential and commercial plumbing as well as a comprehensive retail offering.

By far the best experience I've ever had with a plumbing company! The moment I called Steve silva plumbing for the leak in my house I knew I made the right choice! The lady that I spoke to on the phone was super friendly and professional! She was able to send a plumber right away!
The plumber was extremely nice and professional, he assured me that the problem would be fixed and I didn't have to worry about it any longer. He did amazing job and the leak issue was resolved!
I recommend this company for anyone that needs a plumber!!!

I have used Steve Silva Plumbing for all my plumbing needs since I moved to Napa in 1999. They have always offered a fair price and top-notch quality service. I have not had any problems with Steve Silva Plumbing in the 17 years that I have used them. So, I chose to have them do a complete remodel of my master bathroom.

The remodel turned out better than I could have imagined!!!
Steve Silva and his remodel crew were friendly, helpful, accommodating, neat and professional from start to finish. I first met with Steve to go over my ideas. I wanted the bathroom to be beautiful as well as functional. He offered his suggestions and then I met with the rest of the crew. We all discussed the specifics of the remodel and then they began the work.
Steve, Adam, Will, Tony, George, the electricians and the shower door installers were all amazing! I was thrilled with the attention to detail and excellent suggestions that each person working on my project provided. I felt as if each one was treating my remodel like they were doing work on their own houses.
My remodeled master bathroom is indeed just as beautiful as it is functional. It truly looks amazing.
I would definitely recommend Steve Silva Plumbing to anyone considering a remodel project or needing the services of a plumber.

I called Silva plumbing and spoke to Lori the receptionist, first off she was very rude, then she put me on hold said some one would be out in a hour.two hours later a plumber comes to my door, wearing a flat billed hat and Nike tennis shoes comes in my home doesn't put any shoe covers on tried selling me a new toilet when the problem was my garbage disposal these people are jokes and to top it off their rate per hour are 210 out right robbery, please do not call them.

CAREFUL:
They charge a lot for simple fixes - like changing the flapper on a toilet. For more complicated issues they inflate your bill even if they can't fix your problem, then leave the project incomplete.

The other negative reviews summarize it pretty fairly.

We had two issues recently that required my contacting this company since they were local and the plumber we used for the 4.5 year remodel on our home was not available (all subs are really busy these days). The first issue was easy enough as we had a leaky toilet that needed the wax ring replaced. The second issue is what should concern anyone and make sure you get a second opinion.

Our home is 65 years old and the crawl space; once we got everything finished needed to be severely cleaned out. We hired a company called Bay Area Moisture Control and the underneath is now spectacular and totally cleaned out. Here's where the fun with these guys started. Before I continue the plumber who showed up was very nice and courteous - no issue there.

The Moisture Control guys mentioned a leak to me under the house and how it was puddling on the brand new heavy duty plastic lining they do to seal up the entire crawl space and we couldn't have that with all the money spent on cleaning up the crawl space.

The plumber from Steve Silva's company crawled under the house to the leak area and said that it was coming from our hot water line to the washer (wrong!) and that even if they could get to the other side of a beam (where the leak was) there wasn't enough room to work anyway (wrong again!). His solution was that they'd have to hire a contractor to cut through our 60 year old white oak wood floor AND cut out the wall behind the washer and dryer. Based on how busy every sub-contractor is these days that would have been a 1 to 2 month project with a lot of dust, debris, etc. I crawled to the area myself and found out that his comment of ""no room"" in the area where the leak was to be a bunch of BS - not to mention that I could even crawl under the beam to get to the area. Granted you had to be somewhat slender but what plumbing company hires only big beefy guys?

Here's what the REAL issue was and how it was resolved.

We're fortunate that the contractor who did most of our remodel work is just flat out brilliant so I called him and offered him a flat rate (a lot of money) to do the job whether is took him 2 hours or 2 days. I was guesstimating that these guys, along with a contractor would have cost upward of $5,000 to $7,500 (to fix a leak!). And, after 4.5 years of remodeling we weren't interested in tearing up walls and floors if it could be avoided.

He came out and with his partner made the following diagnosis within 20 minutes. The leak was coming from a hot water line from the hot water heater NOT the washer AND they could easily get to and work in the area where the leak was occurring. Within 3 hours the were able to get a copper pipe threaded down to the area (from the water heater), the leak fixed and NO WALLS OR FLOORS CUT UP!

So....instead of thousands of dollars more and a few months more work, inconvenience and mess the problem was resolved in 3 hours.

The morale of the story is get a second opinion from this company if it's anything more complicated that a leaky toilet.

Service call for a Pressure Regulator Valve. John checked outgoing pressure and found it to be too high. He explained the issue and all the possible options. He went over pricing, that was resonible, so we decided to have unit replaced. Installation was very professional, completed within the time he estimated and the work area was left in same shape.
Highly recommend these folks, especially John.

Worst case scenario.
Situation: Tankless water heater died, called Steve Silva to come out for a diagnosis. The tech Jeff came out, I had a ladder ready for him into the attic. He went into the attic for 10 minutes and then left. Then he took my manual for my water heater, never to be seen again. The next visit I told him I needed a morning appt, he charged me for an early morning spot but didn't show up until after 10, my wife called me upset that she was going to be late for work because he wasn't there.
2 weeks later I get a phone call from Gene I think, quoting my $3500 for a new tankless. I found the exact replacement on Amazon for $449. I purchased the replacement and replaced it myself for about $70 in parts. Grand total of $519, took about 2 hours. 2 months later I get a bill for $664. I called Lori in the office and asked for an itemized receipt and what work Jeff performed. She said he would contact me. 5 months later I get a collection notice for the bill. I stop in the office 14 days ago and ask to resolve the issue. Lori tells me that both Jeff and the Manager are out sick. I give her my number and tell her to have them call me ASAP. Nothing happens for 14 days. Today I received another collection notice. I'm not so pissed that I can't handle this, what pisses me off is that they do this to elderly people in Napa and get away with it.

Dishonest, everyone I talked to tell me the same. They rip you off!
They charged me a lot $$$ for what they fixed+ what they didn't. I called them couple times politely to see how to fix the issue and they said: we offer quality and we will call you back. They never did. My husband (not certified plumber) fixed the problem that they couldn't.

Yesterday,Thursday,a really great technician, John, from this establishment came out to our home to ""snake"" our tub drain. Given a 1-3 pm window of arrival, John was actually there early, and we have a difficult place to find.
Extremely nice, while professional, John introduced himself and was onto assessing the situation immediately. Not only did he do what he was sent to do, he came up with a pipe solution outside for any future issues (keep in mind that in know nothing about plumbing). Even though my wife and I insisted that it'd be unnecessary, John even cleaned our tub NICELY after he was done.
In short, if you want you plumbing done correctly, promptly, and professionally, these folks are the plumbers you need!

If it's possible to say you had an awesome experience with a plumbing company, I had that today with Silva Plumbing. Got a same day appointment, got it moved up, and then Zac was the best. He even cleaned up a mess I had made trying to fix the problem myself. Use these people if you want it done fast and, more importantly, right.
