We had one of their plumbers at our house for a couple VERY simple jobs (1. fix the drainage underneath the kitchen sink so that one sink drains downslope into the adjoining sink, and 2. complete the installation of a bathroom sink faucet, replacing two stop drain valves that were leaking). The plumber assessed the jobs and quoted $684 (note that we were not told how long the job would likely take him to complete). I thought that quote was high, but OK'd the work. The work was completed in about 55 minutes. Doing the math, this works out to about $600/hour for labor (there was a $78 charge to show up at our doorstep + about $10/each for the two stop valves). I called Steve Ray as I think the labor charge was excessive. Steve went to great lengths to over-explain that they charge based upon average time it takes to do the job. So even if the job takes less than the average for that job, you pay whatever the original estimate was. I told Steve that if the job takes less time than originally estimated that I expect to pay for actual time taken. Steve responded that as long as the job was done right (it was), why should it matter that the plumber took less time than originally estimated. Well, as I tried to explain to Steve, but he kept cutting me off, is that I should not have to subsidize his other customers whose jobs take longer than the average. Steve agreed to refund me $200 and told me to seek out another plumber for any future work. Happy to oblige.

quick to respond, shockingly expensive. next day service was great but a $750 bill to rooter a line and a quote for $780 to install a check valve is obscene. a quote for $5,800 to stint a line would be the cost to temove the line and re-run it entirely. you Also have to pay on the spot with a credit card which feels coercive.

Very impressed from the first call through
installation with Steve Ray Plumbing. Water heater when down two days before Thanksgiving. Steve Ray Plumbing was the only company that was not 'booked' through the following week. They scheduled a service call for the same day. Matt took measurements, explained options and provide a installed invoice. He came back the next day and had installed it. He was professional, knowledgeable and cleaned up after the job. I will always make my first call to Steve Ray plumbing in the future. Thank you!

I want to say that I did not end up hiring Steve Ray Plumbing Service, but fixed the problem on my own. While I would have had them explore other options as to what the problem could be, over the phone (this was after hours) I was told that my slow dranining bathroom sink and toilet was most likely clogged drains, and that if I wanted them to come out that evening, two people would have to come out & that would be a $500 service call, and another $450 to unclog my drain, or I could wait until Monday. After consulting a neighbor, I had the problem fixed in 15 minutes....I don't know much about plumbing, but I was a bit put off by immediately diagnosing over the phone.

We called Steve Ray Plumbing based on Yelp reviews and had a very good experience with our service call. We live in an old house so anytime we have a plumbing issue we worry about repair costs but this was not the case the day we called Steve Ray Plumbing.

Two service guys came out and were professional and helpful. They took a look around and determined all we had was a grease clog in the kitchen sink. They got to work and within 10 minutes of snaking out the drain with the water flush, it finally did the trick and we had a free flowing drain. It's been about 3 months since the call and we have had no issue with our drain. Cost was around $300. Totally worth the price for service received.

I would highly recommend using Steve Ray Plumbing.

I selected Ray Stevens plumbing because of the positive reviews on Yelp. When I called to make an appointment I was told their hourly rate was $125/hour. While high I figured it was in line with other good plumbers. They also give a 10% senior discount. When the plumber arrived he quoted a flat rate, rather than time & materials, for each of the shut off valves I wanted replaced. The receipt was emailed but only included the total amount not an itemized billing. I asked for an itemized bill feeling I had been overcharged. Mr. Stevens explained the billing includes a $60 trip charge + $40 truck/tool charge. In addition their charge for the valves were 2-3 times what Lowes charges. Yes, I am happy with the quality of their work. Mr. Stevens reviewed the billing & sent me a partial refund, for which I'm thankful.

I had a small leak with my hybrid water heater. Chad came out and diagnosed the the problem and ordered a replacement 50g hybrid WH from Bradford White under warranty. When they received it, Chad and Aaron came and replaced the WH. They are both very nice men and I enjoyed working with both. Chad made some corrections to the pipes to/from heater to make it a much more professional installation (I had personally installed the previous one - ha). They took great care to not damage anything while moving the equipment in and out.

The next time I need a plumber I'll be calling SRP.

I had a minor plumbing emergency when I found a small ring of water and several piles of human feces in my basement. I called and immediately spoke with one of the actual plumbers. They were out later that day. Very professional and extremely easy to talk to. Cleared up my problem in a couple hours and even did some clean up. They were great! Thanks so much!

Do not hire these people. They were nice while working on my clogged drain. Then they did not fix it. Charged me $300 hundred dollars. Then tried to scam me by saying I need my entire front yard dug up to fix clog and it would cost between $4500.00 to $6,000.00 dollars. Left the drain just as they found it with a story of how bad the pipe was clogged. Would not provide photos, invoice, diagnostic or itemized estimate for repair. Home insurance company said that was ridiculous! Turns out another plumbing company fixed the clog in less than an hour in a half! Steve Ray Plumbing knew I was an older and knew nothing about plumbing. Tried to take advantage to get a big payday!
