Edward T.Always great service from Belsito & Sons. As a general construction company, we are very particular about who we hire to help us on our jobs. Belsito & Sons are reliable, honest, and straightforward. They make sure to keep us informed each step of the way. They take pride in making sure the jobs are done right the first time. Their knowledge of their industry, their craftsmanship and their overall business ethics are what kept us doing business with them for over 15 years. We not only use them for our clients' properties, but we use only them for our personally owned properties as well. They've serviced every type of installation, repair, maintenance, emergency request you could call in for and we were satisfied with their service every time.
We would recommend them over and over again.
Great service. Great people. Great prices.
We had a great experience with Margo and Eric at Belsito. We were getting the runaround by another plumbing company called Demar (the WORST, never use them). We had gone four days without a heater in the dead of winter. We were freezing. Demar tried to cheat us and tell us we needed a new heater. Eric from Belsito came and fixed the heater. He was knowledgeable, pleasant, kind, and fair. Their pricing is better than Demar, and they did a much better job. Thank you, Margo and Eric.
As a small landlord I need reliable honest trades people. Belsito takes care of all my annual Inspections; sprinklers, boilers etc with no fuss & no muss.
Always there to get real information and questions answered, quickly and easily.
This is, without a doubt, one of the most unprofessional operations in Brooklyn. I had plumbers from their company come to my home on (3) occasions to work on various issues with my home.
Their accounting department sends invoices well after the fact and EACH time I received an invoice from them (which typically came a month or so after the work was performed) they ADDED time on-site, to generate additional revenue for themselves. Each time I called them and they claimed it was either a mistake, or an issue with the truck's odometer, or told me ""that's what the plumbers are saying"". I finally had to argue with the owner (who is quite unpleasant, rude and unprofessional) over the discrepancy. To add to it, we're still having issues with a radiator they were supposed to fix.
Do yourself a favor - FIND ANOTHER PLUMBER. They're not worth your time or money and there are plenty of other professionals out there.
Look at other reviews on yelp and have a look at their rating on Indeed.com from folks that have worked there. Awful.
Ted H.These guys were called in to locate a gas leak in our building. Our Board was in a pinch because we needed to get the gas back on so they agreed to pay $1500 for two plumbers for the day. The two ""plumbers"" were two young guys who did not seem to have too much experience and they arrived at 10am, took a 75 minute lunch break and left at 3:30pm - $1500 for less than 4-1/2 hours of work. When we questioned this we were told this was not an hourly job (obviously) and we should not be questioning such an experienced company. They then asked for $4500 for a 3-day retainer to continue working.
We subsequently hired another plumbing company, who charged us fairly, gave us a full days work, and who found the leak in one day in a location that the Belsito plumbers had already checked !!
These guys are not that good, and you will bleed money.
I cannot stand these people. They repeatedly lied to us. My building gave them the key to the boiler room and Belsito's guys would just show up randomly and lie to my face about what they were doing.
Example - they were tending to the electrical panel of our heating boiler 'because the buttons were sticking'. Why were they there pushing the buttons to begin with? No explanation.
Example - the electrical panel was no longer controlling the heating pumps. I learn later that the panel never controlled the pumps, which had their own separate on-off switch.
Example - they replaced valves in the apartment radiators when needed and charged the owners $750+, saying that the valves needed to be welded in place. It turns out that the valves can be purchased for $75 each and screwed in place by hand, which we now do. I get it - they need to make money but that is price gouging.
Lisa H.As a Property Manager for 10 buildings, Belsito is the first I call whenever I'm experiencing any issues with plumbing and heating. I've been using this company for 4 years and I met them through a company I used to work for. Dealing with Frank and Eric has made things a lot easier in my life, they are honest, professional and efficient.
Andy Andy B.The primary reason for our appointment was a toilet that kept running water. It made noise, it wasted water, and it inflated our building's water bill.
The toilet stopped running just in time for the appointment, and I didn't know how to reproduce and demonstrate the problem. The plumbers assured me that there was absolutely nothing wrong, and since my wife noticed the problem more than I did they explained to me ""what women don't understand about buildings like these."" Blech.
They started working on a secondary problem, before eventually concluding that they didn't have appropriate equipment, and we made a follow up appointment with the parent company, for which I paid but did not receive a receipt, and I'm not sure if I got proper change.
I watched one youtube video on common problems with toilet tanks, and saw what was very likely the reason for the running water. I waited till it started happening again, confirmed the cause was as expected, and fixed it.
The office refunded us when we cancelled the follow up appointment.
Gaia D.I've used Belsito several times. They are quick and efficient. They got my water heater and furnace back up and running after hurricane Sandy. They fixed a leaky faucet in my bathtub, replaced my kitchen sink faucet after a leak went unnoticed and damaged my downstairs neighbors apartment. When my toilet was running they walked me through how I could fix it by simply replacing the Gorky flapper! They always show up with a smile and a joke and leave the place cleaner than they found it.
Unfortunately I have to agree with the other people who were also misquoted. I should've looked at this sooner so I could get a quote in writing, but I learned my lesson the hard way. My hot water heater broke on a Saturday and I called Belsito because they've done work in our building before. I was thankful that John came to our apt fairly quickly, although he was only there for 5 minutes to say that we needed it replaced and there was nothing that could be done til at least Monday. I didn't realize that it cost $450 for him to tell me that. On Monday I called twice to get an estimate and the woman on the phone said it would be $1095. This sounded reasonable especially since John had given me his best guess at around $1200. So the new water heater was installed and afterwards I was told it was actually $1950! I honestly don't know if they gave me the wrong number on purpose or by accident but there was nothing I could do. I'm giving 2 stars because johnny and his co-worker did a great job at installing, but I would never use this company again.
