Richard E.Noon Sunday on Memorial Weekend are Septic system stop working. We called and the response was immediate. They came out and fixed within one hour and 30 minutes. Jorge Perez was fantastic. He explained what was wrong and how avoid future problems. I highly recommend Jorge and yourcompany to everyone. You now have a lifelong customer'
My appointment was scheduled for 10-2. After waiting for four hours and fifteen minutes for this company to arrive as promised, I called the main line. I was told they were hung up on another job and MIGHT be at my home within two hours! Apparently giving me a call to let me know was too much to ask. I know times are hard right now as far as having enough help etc. but this was a ridiculous waste of my time.
I worked at Stemmle for five years. Was let go this morning after refusing to drive at 3am and offering to come at 7am. They considered this action ""gross misconduct."" Gross Misconduct as defined in Virginia law is any unethical and unprofessional behavior an employee engages in. I had already worked 13hrs that same day and didn't feel safe driving. (They just had a technician total a van a few weeks ago at night, on call. It's still sitting in the lot and has been a reminder of why safety and clarity of mind is important). When I told my supervisor this he said ""well I need this customer taken care of."" Honorable on one hand, horribly negligent on another. I suggested having a night shift about a year ago. That way the customers will have a coherent and friendly plumber, fully capable of performing his duties. Not half asleep and making rushed decisions. Other companies have this system and it is based on reason, both ethical and professional.
When I first started, I had no problem working 80hrs/week. I made the most money I ever made that year as a plumber. One time I worked 32 hrs straight. This is a wonderful place to work if you are a working man without a family. You can get all kinds of overtime and they overlook whatever unhealthy personal habits you have, as long as you make them money.
It is not a place to grow as a plumber, electrician, or hvac technician. Not one supervisor has their Master's license and their knowledge is limited to their experience in the field, which is also limited.
There is no in-house training or ongoing education in place. This is not a review of their workmanship, although these things do negatively affect the growth and mindset of technicians. This is a review of the values and moral obligations to provide a safe working environment for the men and women who are employed there still, and who may be seeking employment at this establishment in the future.
I'm not bitter or angry with the company and only want to see them prosper and grow in the right direction. I love all my former co-workers and shook everyone's hands when I left today. I did what I could to help the whole while I worked there.
Everything that I have written, to the best of my knowledge is true and without exaggeration.
Before I knew I was going to be let go this morning, I changed the quote on an inspiration board I hung for the guys and myself.
""We cannot solve our problems with the same thinking we used when we created them."" -Albert Einstein
M. Ann -.I'll start off by all the negative reviews and sorry they had a bad experience.
I however, had an excellent experience. They called ahead of time the day of service and notified how soon the driver would be at my location. The service fee to come out is 79.00 which was told to me over the phone before I decided to have them come out.
They worked with my on payment too.
The service was thorough, and they listened to my questions and answered /explained if I had concerns. They job area was cleaned after work and they wore masks because of the CoViD-19 time and expressed they had had their shots as well.
I've called them from a distribution box that's wasn't sealed on my my house being built in 1958 to just basic hearing of constant water running and I needed it checked. I've had them come out for major to basic work m, and have been impressed both times.
Timeframe of work 2019-2021.
Hope this helps
Nicole N.My sink was clogged and drain-o/hot water/baking soda did not help the situation. I decided to try out Stemmle Plumbing Repair since they were listed in my building's move-in resource packet.
I appreciated how my call was picked up within a short amount of waiting time and I was able to schedule an in-person visit the next day during 1-4pm. However, because the dispatch team has different tasks at different locations, they call you an hour before hand to let them know they are on the way. This makes it difficult to precisely time when you have to be at home to let them in, especially for busy people like me with packed schedules during work hours.
When Stephen and his teammate arrived, they were very nice and honored my request of wearing shoe covers inside my place. After assessing the situation, Stephen reported the dispatch fee of $79 as well as the price to fix the sink. He gave me some time to think about it and didn't pressure me in any way.
I decided to proceed and Stephen quickly fixed my sink issue! He also double checked to make sure the situation was really fixed before leaving. I also really really appreciated how he even gave me some insider tips to help prevent the situation!
When it came to paying, I felt that the price to fix my small sink problem was a little expensive (considering how minor/quick of a fix it was) and I was annoyed at how the dispatcher didn't tell us the exact dispatch fee. They take credit cards and gave me a receipt with the assessment/solution written out.
Overall I enjoyed interacting the dispatch staff and appreciated their help, but felt that prices were a little high and timing can be inconvenient.
I have changed out over 30 faucets in my lifetime...had up to 14 rentals at one time. Due to age now...have vertigo and tried several times to change my kitchen sink faucet...couldnt due it because after 6-8 seconds looking up into connection area would get dizzy and sick to my stomach. Decided to get a plumber to do it. called Stemmle and waited 4 hours and 20 minutes for arrival..(daytime). I could get price on phone because they said all jobs are different. Turns out they charged me $311.00 for 32 minutes of total time at my house. paid it...but will NEVER call them again. Total rip off.
Overpriced and in 2 separate visits, neither plumber gave me the 30 minute courtesty call to let me know they were on their way; not cool when you work 25 minutes away from your home.
Stay away, far, far away from this company. I have a gas stove, water heater, and furnace. Discovered a gas leak and contacted this company. They responded and disconnected all the gas appliances, capped the pipes, and repaired the leak. Cost $513.00. The tech then informs me it will cost an additional $735.00 to re-connect the appliances. ""NO WAY"" I replied. He packed up his tools and left..no way to cook my food, take a hot shower, and( thankfully it wasn't mid-winter) to heat my house. Two days later another company re-connected everything costing $300.00.Did I mention I am retired in my 70'S? It's like having new brakes installed and having to pay extra to have the wheels put back on the car. One word describes it.....EXTORTION !!!!
STAY AWAY, FAR, FAR AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!!!!!!!!!!!!
DO NOT USE THEM FOR EMERGENCY SERVICE!! We had a plumbing emergency and they had to come out THREE separate times over the next 12 hours due to negligence on the part of the technician. Even though it wasn't fixed until the next day they still charged us almost $200 just for an emergency fee. We attempted contacting the owner to ask them to make it right, but they just ignored us and never called us back. We continued to call until we finally got through and they refused to do anything to satisfy us. We will be spreading the word about this negligent service as well as failure to stand behind their service.
I called for emergency services yesterday and was told I'd get a call back. After a few hours, I called again since I hadn't heard back, and was hung up on. I thought it was an accident so I called back and was hung up on again, for a total of four times!!!!! And today I get a follow up call from stemmle to see if someone ever called me back. I informed the woman that I had been hung up on and she didn't acknowledge or address it. All she was interested in was knowing if I still needed service. What?!?! Why would I want to be treated like carp and then want to pay you for it? This place sucks on customer service!!!!
