Let me start off by saying I have never written a Yelp review in my life. However, I was so confused after reading these reviews and comparing them to my experience with Dave that I felt compelled to do so.
Our water heater stopped working almost two weeks ago. We contacted our home warranty company to send someone out to take a look. I had been warned about the first company they sent us after reading awful reviews. It was clear upon meeting them that they were trying to rip us off, so I sent in a request for a second opinion. After they referred us to Dave, I again read reviews and was a little nervous. I feel like it's important to know that when you request a service through the warranty program, it's YOUR responsibility to initially reach out to the company assigned to you. I was pleasantly surprised when we called and left a message for him and he returned our call within a couple of hours. He was able to come to our house last Friday afternoon and ordered a new water heater for us over the weekend. The water heater was delivered to the the pickup location this morning (Wednesday) and he immediately called us when he was notified of the delivery to come over and install it before the pending snow storm hits.
Dave was super nice and was in and out within a couple hours ...and we now finally have hot water again! He was also nice enough to waive the disposal fee for the old water heater. Again, our experience with him was way different than the negative reviews I've read. With that being said, most of the time when people write negative reviews we don't know the whole story. Some people just like to complain. Also, if you hire someone to come fix something in your house don't be surprised if you have to leave and/or miss work in order for them to do so...that's life. Try to be more patient and understanding and things might just work out in your favor! Thank you Dave!

I knew I was in trouble after I reviewed the Better Business Bureau reviews. Seems this is most unprofessional Plumber you could possibly find. Stay away. You should probably also stay away from American home shield as this is now my third poor interaction. I will be canceling them as well
We were referred to this company by our home warranty. Dave was very kind, knowledgeable and professional. He came right out to service quickly and stayed in communication with us until the job was complete. I would recommend them in the future and use them for our future plumbing needs.

No call no show on a project that was suppose to be completed today. No answer when I call or the home warranty company calls. Very unprofessional. I was expecting a huge project to be started today & now Im back at square one. I am now requesting a new company to be called to my home!
My home warranty referred this raggedy plumber to me to just switch out my shower kits. The initial week he was supposed to come, he was a NO CALL AND NO SHOW. I had to CALL HIM to see if he was keeping our appointment only to find out he had ""another job that ran over"". How about COMMON COURTESY of letting me know!!! So he shows up the following week to switch out my shower kits but I had the wrong parts. He told me what parts to get...so I returned everything for the correct parts. He was supposed to come back and install them this week. When I called to see if he's still coming 8 MINUTES BEFORE HIS APPOINTMENT (because he confirms NOTHING)...he told me to CALL MY HOME WARRANTY & never called back.
Here's how HE IS NOT A GENUIS...we built a good rapport and I liked Dave (initially). I called the home warranty to find out the install was not covered but I still have all of these parts...he could've had the job at retail price. BUT HE BLEW IT and I hired another contractor! HIS LOSS!!!
Incredibly unprofessional, irresponsible and disrespectful. Steinberg was sent out by my home warranty company. After he left, I continued to have leaking, so I called him and left a message asking him to call me back. I left five messages over the next two weeks and he did not return my call. I then contacted the home warranty company and they sent him a recall notice. He was required to contact me the next business day to reschedule. He did not. I called the home warranty company again and they called him. He picked up their call and told them he would call me in five minutes to schedule to come back out. Amazingly, he once again didn't call at all. When the home warranty company had their contractor relations department contact him, he finally called to reschedule. He was unapologetic for not communicating and refused to offer any explanation or even discuss. He even lied about who he was. I would never, ever use him again or recommend him to anyone.
We had a leak in the pipe under the bathroom sink into the kitchen. Dave came out and blamed the leak on a rehab that was done over 2 months prior to the issue. Also the rehab never opened the floor or changed out any of the pipes in the sink. Of course while he was at my house he said he would be back in two days to start the work. He then called the warranty company and placed the blame on work that was done over two months prior that never touched any of the pipes.
Steinberg is very difficult to reach and will not return phone calls. He said that my problem was a result of damage and not wear and tear. David Steinberg's incorrect diagnosis is going to cost me a lot of money.
I'm not sure what happened with Dave but we had an appointment for him to investigate a leak in our house. We waited for him to show and my husband called but no answer. We finally heard back and he had car problems and would be an hour late. Understandable although not sure why he didn't send us a quick text. It's hard to justify lack of communication in the 21st century.
Anyway he never showed up!!! We called a few times the next couple of days to reschedule and he never called back!
It's so disappointing. It's hard to find reliable and honest plumbers. We had used him many times prior with amazing experiences and even recommended him to others. His card was on our fridge - we were committed to keeping him as our go to plumber for some projects in our house. Unfortunately we are now using a new plumber.
I used this plumber before and was very satisfied with the work. I then recommended him to my brother in law who used him and was also satisfied until he set up an appointment with him, took a day off from work to be home and he didn't show up. He then called and was told that an emergency came up and that he promised he would be there the next morning at 9:00am. My BIL took another day off....would you believe the guy didn't show again!
It wasn't my problem so I called him for an installation last week. He was great on the phone and told me the parts he recommended I order. He told me to call him when the parts came in and he would definitely be over to do it as we are having people over for the holidays. I have been calling and leaving messages for three days now!!!! Still waiting for him to answer the phone or get back to me. I will keep you all posted if he calls me back and is true to his word that he would get it done before Christmas. If this is the last you see, he never called back and cannot be trusted to show up. Try to get him to show up if it's not a Home Warranty call where he will pocket the $$$$ and then you won't hear anything from him again.
