Recommended Customer Reviews
I believe in building relationships with contractors for reliable future service, it seems Stefani Plumbing does not care about that. I hired them for a major renovation and was pleased with their work and assumed I had found a trusted partner for ongoing plumbing needs, including maintaining my tank-less water heater and mini-splits.
Recently, my home suffered significant water damage, and I reached out to Stefani Plumbing for a bid on the necessary repairs. I was told I would receive in detail the work to be completed, one bid would include options discussed and one bid would not.
After waiting two weeks, I received one vague, non-itemized bid that did not match what we had discussed. I emailed them for clarification, simply wanting to understand the breakdown of costs. How can a customer accept a bid if it is not accurate? For Stefani Plumbing and myself I had to question the bid.
After not receiving a response, I followed up with a phone call, even apologizing if my email came across the wrong way. I was told they would review it and get back to me. Three days later, I called again--only to be told they were too busy and would be moving on from the job. When I asked if I need to find another plumber, the response was simply, ""Yes.""
I understand that skilled tradespeople are in high demand, but as a paying customer, I expected professionalism, clear communication, and transparency--especially after waiting weeks for a bid. Instead, I am left scrambling to find another plumber, delaying my repairs even further as my family and I wait in a rental.
If you're looking for a company that values your business, long-term customer relationships and clear communication, I would suggest looking elsewhere.
Professional, positive, solve issues
Happy with new HVAC system they installed! The initial system in my home had problems due to possibly builder or installation. Great value!
JenniJenni82 ..Everybody with whom I worked was so helpful and professional. Suzanne responded to my info request almost immediately, and got me in touch with the GM, Brian. He was able to come out the next morning, and did a walk-thru with me, taking picks of all of the plumbing issues (lots of leaking pipes, and a detached tub drain). He gave me numerous options for how to address these issues. Our former plumber never gave us options, just did the most expensive fix.
Anyway, after having our well water tested (another thing our former plumber never had us do in the 30+ yrs we worked with him), we started out with an acid neutralizing system. The man who came out, Wes, was great too. He was polite and professional. He explained the whole set up to us, and left the basement slightly cleaner than when he arrived. It's been a few months now; and we're extremely happy with the work that we've had so far. There's a lot more to do still; and I'm really happy that we've found a company that is responsive and isn't just going to do the most expensive fix with no explanation.
TLDR, I'm very happy with the work. Will absolutely use them again. Thanks to Suzanne, Brian, and Wes!
I paid a deposit in early May for a mini split to be installed. About six weeks later I received a call telling me should look elsewhere because they were backed up until September. I told them to keep me on the the list because I was replacing a central air system and was looking more for using the mini for heat in the winter. One day in late June out of nowhere I received my deposit back telling me they where too busy to do my job. After many phone calls that were answered and told would be returned except Tom had Covid to he was on vacation I given up on a response and will be depositing my check from them, hopefully it won't bounce.
So I have a Fujitsu 4 head mini-split air conditioning system that did not come on this year when I tried to turn it on. It did power up and some lights on one of the heads flashed in a certain sequence (Typically they flash to give a code to indicate what is wrong). I called Stefani Plumbing and AC in Plymouth and decided to have my 2nd floor central AC tuned up at the same time as I was having the mini-split fixed. The guy, who was supposedly trained on this unit, came out on May 25 (I wasn't there) and told me over the phone it needed some parts and that he would order them. He couldn't tell me if they would be covered by a warranty. Stefani later called and scheduled to come out to finish the repair on June 10 with still no answer about whether the job would be covered by a warranty. On June 8 I called and spoke to Suzanne to inquire about the job, whether the parts would be covered by the warranty and she had no idea. She told me what parts were ordered and I inquired why those 4 parts, A fan motor, air filter module, main PCB, and IPM would be needed (I have a degree in bio-medical electronics so know my way around a printed circuit board!) when it seemed unlikely that all those would go at the same time. I asked if the tech was just going to replace parts until he fixed the thing, not that I care as long as it gets fixed and I don't get hit with a huge bill, and she had no idea. I asked to speak to the owner, Tom Stefani, and found that he had sold to company to an out-of-state entity. I asked that their service manager give me a call back. Longer story shorter, no one called me back to explain anything. On June 9 I again called and spoke to Suzanne who told me that the parts would be covered by warranty but not the labor which would be at least 4 hours at $160/hr (minus 10% because I had signed a service contract). I asked again about why all those parts would be needed, I just wanted an answer, and she had no idea and it was obvious she had no interest in helping me get an answer to that question. She was totally uncooperative and didn't want to help me any further. I also said I didn't want to pay for AT LEAST 4 hours labor when it didn't seem like all those parts suddenly became defective at the same time. She suddenly said that they would refund my money for the service contracts and I should ""go elsewhere"". I asked to speak to someone else and she said that she was the only one I could talk to. I called back, mainly to ask why the tech had left the cover off the main breaker box in my cellar and also why, when I tried to power up the system after flipping on the breaker, it was dead. A woman name Patricia answered the phone. She was the polar opposite of Suzanne and tried to help. I told her I just wanted an answer that shouldn't be hard to provide and she then told me some things that the tech had written down, so obviously the information was there, Suzanne just didn't want to bother getting it. I still had no reason why all of those parts needed to be replaced. I would NEVER go back to Stefani, although Patricia was nice. Does anyone know of a competent and personable AC service company that services Fujitsu Mini-Splits?
Wes came today to change out a water heater for us at our new home. As a new home owner it was great to have such a patient and informative tradesman visit. He was very friendly and had the job done quick. We will definitely be using Stefani Plumbing and Heating again.
I had a different plumber install my Navient tankless heater. He never registered the warranty with Navien until I asked. Rude customer service had me walking.
I then went to another plumber who was great the first year but wouldn't honor the price the second year. They tried to upsell a lot of added work on a 2 year old boiler
This year I called Stefani. I spoke with Tricia and I had service one day after speaking to her. I was quoted $325 for the service and was given information about their annual contract which was $216. Mike came to service my Navien and arrived early. Extremely courteous and professional he finished the service on time and to my satisfaction. I called Tricia to sign up for the annual service which saves me about $100.
Honest , courteous , knowledgeable and on time . What more could you ask for in a plumber?
I had a problem with Fujitsu Mini Split which was installed by Stefani Plumbing 5 years ago for the previous owner of our home. It had failed and was unworkable. Stefani stood by their work, and fixed the problem for us, which included replacing the compressor with a new one. The technician, Mike, was very capable and a joy to work with. The process took longer than I would have liked, but I don't think Stefani had any other choice than to follow Fujitsu's debug approach which was the main cause of the delay. Bottom line, they stood by their work. I see the 2 negative comments here and i think they can be explained by the company's insistence on doing good work: they won't cut corners not allowing enough time for their techs to get the job done.
Heather E.We just moved to Plymouth and are 1st time home owners. Through ""6-degrees of separation"" we were recommended to Stefani for a plumbing issue we ran into within the first 2 days in our new house.
They got a plumber to our house that day and he was awesome. Their rates are very reasonable and so when we had an emergency literally in the middle of the night, I didn't hesitate to call them. Their on call technician walked me through a temporary fix on the phone so I didn't have to pay for an emergency visit over the weekend.
They are the BEST service provider we have been recommended to and it is actually a pleasure to see their van pull up in our driveway (even if the reason they are there is far from pleasant)!
Hire these folks if you want aggravation and attitude! I took time off of work for an appointment that they did not honor... and were very unapologetic... both the plumber and office staff. Would not recommend!
