Bought house in HR, had the Steele Bros sticker on the heater saying to call for any HVAC or plumbing issues. Discovered a PEX pipe fitting had cracked and was spewing water throughout the basement.

Shut down the source (hot water outlet) and started to clean up. Called Steele Brothers at approx 3:15pm. Answering service (?) said they would have someone call me right back., I went back to cleaning up.

1 hr later got call back from someone saying they would check to see if someone with Steele Bros could come out today. I made sure he had a clear picture of what the problem was and what needed to be done. 55 minutes after that received call from same guy that no one would be available today and that he would have Michelle with the plumbing department call me first thing in the morning to let me know when they would be there. He also advised the job would cost $100 to drive to house and $150 per hour minimum + parts to do the work. I reluctantly agreed.

Forced to take at least the next morning off while I waited for Steele Bros to show up, I had to at least take the morning off due to not being able to sufficiently clean up before going into work.

Waited and waited all morning, no one called or came by.

Finally called Steele Bros office at 12:10p, left msg to contact me. No return call still. Called again at 1:20pm and left another msg. Still no return call.

Fed up, I called another plumbing company at 1:45pm. They were in my driveway in 5 mins and had my problem fixed in another 20 mins... for $65, not the $250+parts minimum Steele Bros quoted.

Finally at 3:30pm, Michelle from Steele Bros calls and leaves a msg for me to call her back. I do, twice. But for some reason Michelle cannot hear me on their phones... their phone receptionist however hears me just fine. I try to tell Michelle that I had to hire someone else after they waited over 24 hrs to call me back... but she could not understand me. Frustrated, I hung up the last time.

If I had to do it all over again, I would have called Southside Plumbing first and saved me 23.5 hours of grief and uncertainty in the first place... besides saving over $200,

I called Steele Brothers and asked for a price quote: it was given to me immediately by the service scheduler. My appt was scheduled, then Chris arrived early that day and went right to work. He was courteous, professional, and was thorough and explained all that he had to do to fix my heater. He changed out a pressure switch and then continued to trouble shoot when my HVAC was still giving a pressure-switch blinking light. Apparently my son had pushed rocks into the air vent and this was causing the pressure sensor to shut the system down, not allowing the heat to come on. Had I not had Chris that day, we would still be wondering why the system wasnt working! Thank goodness for Chris and Steele Brothers!!! They got the rocks out and completed the repair quickly and professionally, and all for a reasonable price. I HIGHLY recommend Steele Bros for all of your HVAC needs!!!

Their bids were more costly than other companies, and instead of trying to offer me a better price they were emotional and charge me 80 dollars for their ""gas money and time"" of coming out for a free estimate. Not so free I guess. They charged me 80 dollars for the Tech to remove the furnace cover, after I decided I would go with another company. Not a company I would ever consider working with again.
