My kitchen sink backed up so I called Steele and Allbritten. I have had them out before because of a leaky bathroom fixture and a frozen pipe and both of those experiences should have warned me, but getting a plumber to call you back or have time is impossible around here.

Called on Thursday 10/19 for a service and they were very busy so it took a few days before they could come the first time (Tuesday 10/24). It was determined that a simple snake job wasn't going to do it and some pipe under the house would need to be replaced. I received a call the next day and was told that since they were so busy and my job would need two guys that they couldn't get me in until 11/2. Only one guy was on my job.

Called the day before just to confirm my appointment and the woman who answered said she didn't see anything, but would call Sam and reach back out. Never got a call back, so I called the number of the plumber who did the original call, Justin. He was very professional and called Sam to find out and got right back to me.

Justin just finished up his job and while he was very polite and the photos of what he did under my house and behind my cabinet looked good what my cabinet face looked like at the end was awful. He reinstalled the center face with door attached and when I came in to see where he was at after hearing water running he went on to show me how the shelf was reinstalled and hole that was cut in there was closed up. When he pulled on the door the whole piece came undone along with a piece of wood. As he tried to replace it he said he would have to put a screw to secure it. I asked if going through the side might be a possibility without splitting the wood because I didn't want a screw in the front, he said no. He proceeded to secure the front with a screw and nothing was flush. When I brought this to his attention he said that it wasn't pretty but there was nothing that could be done because the only other way to access the area would have been to hire a professional cabinet guy to remove the cabinet. I'm not as concerned about the aesthetics of the cabinet interior and knew when he said he would have to open the back to access the pipe there might be damage, but pretty much knew it when I heard the hammering to get the shelf out there would be, but the exterior is different. I think part of the issue was it was almost 4 and he was just trying to get out. Since I have used them before payment is not due at the end of service, so I won't know what the price is until I get the bill.

My experience with Steele and Allbritten could not have been better. Service was super fast, the plumber did a perfect job, was friendly and answered all my questions. The water heater I bought to replace the 20 year old one was a few inches too tall for the existing 240v wiring to reach it , and the S&A plumber had an electrician from S&A come in MINUTES. The final bill was in the ballpark of what I expected, and I plan to use S&A again when I finally have work done on a laundry room sink. Thank you to Justin, Tim, and Sam!

Charged $400 more than the quote and took over three weeks to explain it to me. Explanation was it took more time - but they never gave me any heads up nor did they report running into any issues at the time. They are also saying it is due to labor charges but total labor was $570 so even if they did run into issues without bothering to let us know, it couldn't account for the $400+ increase. Also they didn't give credit for the $95 charge for them to come give a quote, which they said would come off of the bill. It took over 3 weeks to get any type of explanation about the huge bill (we were expecting and quoted in writing $1100, with the $95 already paid we anticipated around $1000 but have a bill for over $1500). AVOID THEM - a person or company is only as good as their word, and their word doesn't mean anything....

It took over a year and $600.00+ to get a non-leaking, stand alone faucet installed by this company. The faucet flooded my backyard and the yards of 2 other people a few days after it was installed. The worker they sent would not discuss the problem with me or tell me how he fixed it. Obviously, he did not know how to properly fix it. I expect if I had been a man, he would have treated me with more respect. I would encourage everyone to STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!

They sent a plumber that repaired the mess their previous repairman left things in; and then charged me $201.00. Even worse, the repairs had to be done on a buried hydrant they installed. They did cheap, shotty work that has been undependable.

12 months ago, I had a leak at the base of my stand alone outdoor water faucet. They sent a plumber who kept making faces and saying things were a mess. When he left, I knew things had not been done right and did not use the faucet very much. I carefully protected the area.

In Aug, I attached a hose to the faucet and water flooded my backyard. A neighbor dug out the faucet and found the man had stuck a pvc connector in and it had busted apart on the sides and cracked in the middle. It was a horrible mess.

The co. sent another man after I called. I dug the hole because the previous man had been so worn out from digging the hole that he had a hard time concentrating on the problem or anything else. This was a young fellow who place the busted part and added a 90 degree metal connector. He said the other person had basically put in a band aid cure and was bothered because my pipe coming from my well did not have the common diameter. I had total confidence in how this 2nd man fixed the problem that the previous worker seemed not to know how to handle.

Such an important and costly repair should not have only lasted one year if it had been done correctly using good parts. Not only was it costly, it was something that caused a lot of serious problems for the household. I would never recommend this company again unless I knew that they were sending the fellow who came out here the second time. Too important to have plumbing work done right to deal with inept employees.

They noticed my bad reviews and came by my home to personally apologize, so they at least cared about it enough to do that. I still can't review their services, since I had to find someone else to do the install, but I would be willing to give the another chance.
