Brad & Collette are amazing! Our water heater died & they sent someone out with a new water heater and installed it....on a Friday afternoon! We contracted with them to have a gas furnace installed to replace our old oil fired furnace. Brian and Jason were the installers. They took their time answering all my questions. They did a professional installation job! I highly recommend Steam Specialists!

We hired this company 3 years ago to install our new furnace. We found them very professional and friendly. We've had NO issues with the furnace until this morning. We woke to a horrible smell that I can only describe, as burnt oil soaked wood, that made me to cough a lot. After opening the windows and doors I called ""Steam."" I was told that they were completely booked so a service call would be ""overtime."" Since I had no choice I agreed. The technician arrived at approx. 5 pm. Upon inspection, we were told that the furnace was completely clogged with soot. He said the coughing I was experiencing was due to carbon monoxide poisoning ! He also said that with that much soot, there would have been a fire ! (Thank God I had turned off the furnace this morning. ) He called another technician to come and help him sweep it out. The two of them ended up doing a full cleaning, and also a service !!! They were here approx. 2- 1/2 hrs. total. They were so friendly and informative as well as efficient. They informed me that the chimney is also blocked and should be cleaned asap. I will be taking care of that in the morning. I have no complaints at all with their professionalism. I don't know if I'll have any complaints about the cost, because I was told I would be sent a bill in the mail. The tech informed us that the furnace should be cleaned and serviced every year, which I did not know. I did receive a letter last year telling me I was due for a service. Unfortunately that was the first letter I received in 3 years. However, anyone reading this, please have your furnaces cleaned and serviced every year , I sure will be from now on ! And have your chimney checked as well !

I've been overall impressed with both the quality of this company and its home base personnel. Positive and trustworthy, the team always made sure I was updated on any services provided and the quality of the work was top notch. The only concern was the rounding up from 45 minutes on site to a bill for one hour of work (I clocked it). I will definitely be using these specialists again in the near future to install a furnace. Any bill discrepancies will be addressed and I'm certain dealt with professionally and appropriately!

Notorious for overcharging, but besides that they only do fairly adequate work---at best.
Got an estimate from them and arranged for them to do some work on a vacant home I own prior to people moving in, then found out they were going to charge me for several things that didn't need done and for 2 parts that didn't need replaced. When I called to cancel was told they were able to find time in their schedule to do the work early and were already there and working on the repairs so it was too late to cancel----problem is I was calling from that property and there was nobody there and had not been!

Shady! The service repair man was late and sat in his truck an extra few minutes. He was at my house for 1 hour and 5 minutes and tried to bill me for 1 hour and 45 minutes. I was never told that this company bills from the time they leave their business and return after my service call. That is dishonest not telling the consumer up front about these charges; not to mention his attempt to pad the bill and extra 30 minutes. I will never use them again!
