SECOND UPDATE: The problem proved to be a very simple fix and an honest mistake that any of us could make. But I'm only restoring one star because they never called me back; I had to keep reaching out to set a return appointment. To their credit, they got someone out fairly quickly (2 days after the original visit), and it was fixed in 5 minutes.
UPDATE: Less than 12 hours after normal seasonal maintenance was performed, the system now doesn't work at all, their voicemail is an endless loop that doesn't work, and their online scheduler is not recognizing our account.
ORIGINAL REVIEW: While nobody loves HVAC problems or expenses, you need a trustworthy company when things go wrong. Stark has been that company, keeping this house cool when it's hot and warm when it's not. In a recent visit to prep for summer, Angel went the extra mile inspecting the full system and the ducts - preventing problems before the full Texas heat rolls in.

Quoted to repair AC with a membership savings almost $1000. Had another estimate and job was done for $275 total. Stark techs get a commission on every thing they sell. Always get more than 1 estimate.

**It should be a zero or no-star review but you have to select at least 1 star. You will be better off going with anyone else. Signed up for the Advantage program where we make monthly payments for the unit. The service included free service calls on nights, weekends, and or holidays as well as the filters changed out every 6 months or so. The filters are high-grade filters which are about $100 per filter. We had the unit and the service about 18 months before we sold our home this past October. When we went to sell our home we were informed that Stark Services/Service Experts had put a lien on our home for $35k. Thirty thousand was for the 23ser unit and the other $5300 was for "lease services". We had to have to pay Stark services off from the proceeds of our home. In the 18 or so months we had the new unit no one came by to service the unit, they didn't even come back a week or so after it was installed to make sure it was done properly like they told us they would. I don't understand how you can charge for something when no service was provided. I made several calls as well to get quotes for similar units and the highest quote was $18k, $12k more than what we were charged, just for the unit. They took the first payment out of our account but then there were no more payments debited from our account. I emailed a, signed form permitting Service Experts to debit our checking account on 3 different occasions and nothing ever happened. I've asked to be refunded the money for the "lease services" which never took place and was told they can't refund my money. Don't waste your time with these guys.

I wish I could do a "half star." Their people who answer the phone are great, no problem there. Had the AC unit completely replaced in July. It was EXTREMELY expensive. Have had a LOT of problems with the thermostat, which keeps breaking down. Have had them out multiple times and keep getting mixed answers about the filter, etc. Had been losing patience with them, scheduled them to come out again this morning at 10. Nobody showed up, Nobody called. I had to call them, and was advised that their 8AM appointment was taking a lot longer than expected. Told them that a phone call would have been appreciated. They apologized. It's 122PM now, they're supposed to be here by two. I'd recommend using anyone other than these people.

I needed a flange replaced and already had the toilet removed. The Starks plumber arrived, looked at it and said 650 dollars to fix. What a rip-off! To me, it seems he gave me such a high price so no work would be done, he could leave since it was later in the day and charge me 89 dollar service fee. Starks collects money and didnt do anything at all, no work. Literally looked at it for 20 seconds! He didn't even have to bend down. Two reputable plumber quotes came in after I scheduled Starks for 270. I highly recommend using a different company. I've used them for A/C, and they are in my neighborhood, so I try to support local but won't use Starks again.

Stark Services claims to be "Open 24 hours" so when this physically impaired senior citizen called them regarding emergency plumbing service at ~4am he was connected to an answering service who said they would dispatch someone ... meanwhile water is filling three rooms, so I called the city who was nice enough to send a public works fella out to turn off my water at the street ... and good thing because I NEVER DID hear anything from Stark, their answering service, their dispatch or ANY of their crew until 9:02am when their office called asking if they could help and wanting me to call them and "they would see if they could put me on the schedule"! FALSE. ADVERTISING. NOT. HELPFUL.

We signed a contract with Stark almost a year ago. The contract included regular maintenance, which they have not done. The most recent fiasco was I wanted them to install 2 bathroom sink faucets. When the technician arrived (2 hours after the appointment window) he stated that he was new and had only worked in commercial. He then looked up pricing and and quoted me $500 each for a whopping $1000! I asked him to leave knowing I was getting gouged. I called around and got pricing and they were more than double that of the highest quote. When we called to complain, the lady said that he should have charged a $69 diagnostic fee! "Are you kidding me? He did nothing except try to gouge us with pricing and we showed him the door." I would avoid signing any contracts with this company.

Good reliable service received from Joel, will recommend to others. Very satisfied customer.

I opted for Water heater service and elecronic descaler. Water heater works good but install looks unprofessional and descaler not working as expected...still have scale deposits in fittings and ice maker.
