Starboy came out to my house in san Bruno recently and quoted $1,000 to replace the angle valve and fill valve for 2 toilets in the bathrooms. I thought the price was outrageous and did not want to proceed. The owner got on the phone and negotiated to $500 for the job. I let them do it even though it was still expensive and I just wanted the problem fixed. The job took less than an hour compared to 2 hours originally estimated. No materials included, btw.

I'm a first time landlord and the tenants reported a clogged waste pipe. The plumber (different one) reported that it could not be cleared and the sewer lateral needed to be replaced. I needed to get it cleared asap for the tenants, but that's an expensive repair, so I found another plumber for a competing quote. Starboy had good reviews and could come quickly. Their estimate was a good deal more than the first plumber, but they had a suspicion the trenchless method recommended by the first might not work. They said they could do the job more quickly, so I went with Starboy. There were some scheduling issues, and after the initial jetting it backed up again before they were due to return for the full replacement. They tried to jet it again, but the pipe collapsed. They had to replace the upper section of the lateral, which they could not do right away. A landlord can't leave tenants without fully functional plumbing so I called the office to try to expedite it. They ended up moving their schedule and returned the following day to replace a small section of the lateral, then a few days later for the rest of the upper lateral. The section under the street had to wait. That solved the problem until they could complete the job. There were a few issues with scheduling that had to be worked through, but they had a clear commitment to doing the job right, and ultimately to making sure we were satisfied. Called Starboy on a Saturday afternoon with an aggressively clogged sink and Arby and Carlos showed up an hour later.

Couldn't recommend them highly enough! Within thirty minutes they had snaked the drain, replaced a broken pipe, cleaned, and left.

Being a homeowner is a blessing and a curse. When you have maintenance issues, it can be such a pain and also put a dent in your wallet. Yet, you really have no choice. Especially in the case of a plumbing issue. Unless you have the equipment and knowledge to fix it yourself, your best bet is to hire a professional. That's just what we did.

Our sewer main had gotten clogged and the grey water/sewage started backing up a little in our garage. Unsanitary and smelly as you can imagine. I was able to request a quote from Starboy via Yelp. They answered my message right away even though it was after hours. I ended up having my husband speak to the Starboy rep, since my husband knows a lot more about construction and plumbing than I do. They arranged for someone to come out the next day.

Dickson from Starboy showed up promptly at our appointment time. He was polite, professional and ready to get to work. He snaked the line to see if it would eliminate the clog. This took several attempts but the pipe was still a bit backed up. Then he asked my husband if we were willing to pay for a sewer line camera inspection. We agreed. Dickson was able to determine that there were some tree roots causing the blockage as well as the sewer lateral not having a good slope for flow. The next solution was to call in a hydrojet to flush the sewer line. We had no choice at this point, so again we agreed to the added cost. Through all the steps, Dickson explained everything and quoted the costs. He was honest and helpful. From our personal experience with a different plumbing company named Genteel, they always tried to scam us. Their quotes were high and each time they showed up, the job was done incorrectly and then they would try to get us to fix something else that didn't need fixing. Anyway, Starboy was a much better experience by far.

Shortly after, another Starboy truck came out with the hydrojet. They flushed the line and in a matter of minutes, there was no more flooding in our garage. Dickson even helped us clean up a bit. The total cost was a bit under $1600. It was an average cost for this service. In the end, our plumbing issue was solved and we were incredibly happy to be able to run our sinks, showers, toilets and washer again!

Starboy came out to evaluate our tankless water heater. Quoted over $5,000. I told them that I wanted to talk it over with my husband who was not home at the time. I wanted to get a competitive bid since I noticed that their quote basically came to $600+/hour for labor for what they told me was a 4-5 hour job. They said no problem. But they immediately called my husband and talked him into giving them a credit card. When my husband came home 10 minutes later, he called and asked them to not charge our card and also emailed them for the same. 2 days later I checked our credit card and Starboy charged us for $5300 and no agreement and no work was ever performed! Super dishonest.

Denver, you asked who on earth would charge a credit card without doing the work? My answer: a dishonest scammer! You should have your license revoked. We are disputing the charge with our credit card company and providing them with evidence.

BTW, we got it fixed from Fast Response Plumbing for $125.

Starboy came out when our tankless water failed. Starboy didn't even take the cover off and said it needed to be replaced. The replacement would be about $2000 for the water heater. And $3,000-$3500 in labor for a six hour job. We kept looking and found a plumber that fixed the issue for $150 in about 5 minutes.

Andrew and team were exceptional on all aspects on their visit. I needed a removal of a 10 year old tankless water heater and an installation of a brand new one which Andrew suggested would be a great choice to go with based on our home size.
