We've lived at our current home since 2004, and have had a variety of water issues during the last 18 years. Leaks in the ceiling, cracks in galvanized pipes underground, clogged drains, sewer main replacements, you name it, we've had it. I'm proud to say that Star Rooter has resolved every one of our issues. Over the past few years, I've been working with Jose's son Alex. What I really appreciate about Alex is that he's a creative problem solver. He continues to work the problem, provides possible solutions to us, and then attacks the job. He's always looking to provide a range of cost options, as well as his point of view on which one he recommends. It's important to note that he doesn't always recommend pursuing the most expensive, but rather the option that maximizes spend & value over the life of the repair.

We haven't felt the need to look for any other company when we have a plumbing repair. We highly recommend Star Rooter.

A pipe broke inside a wall on a Sunday afternoon. Water was streaming into the lower level. Had to turn off the water to the house. I called Star Plumbing because I had used them for prior sewer lateral replacement. They responded and Leo was there within the hour. He assessed the situation and had the old piping replaced with new copper an hour later. I'm sure that I paid a pretty penny for emergency service, but I was really happy to have the problem solved quickly.

Used to be my go to plumber, but I last Sunday I hired them to unclog the main, we asked if there's guarantee and the guy said no. Sure enough two days later it was clogged again. I wasted the money here (no receipt after I paid)and had to hire someone else to do the job, but I found a great company that gave me a written receipt with a 90 days guarantee. Looks like I found myself another company to use and refer to my friends and family and clients.

We hires Star Plumbing after Julio gave us an estimate. Honestly they were almost half the price than 3 other estimates. I have read about them on local mom groups ALL speaking highly of them. Sometimes a significantly cheaper prices makes you wonder but we hired without hesitation. So glad we trusted the other moms. They replaced our main sewer line within 1-2 weeks of hire. This included getting all permits which surely took some time. Super quick. Super communicative about anything happening at all times (wtaer shut off etc). Friendly crew. They cleaned everything up besides some concrete. Would hire again for future plumbing jobs!

Our yard drainage system was installed in 1987 and finally was plugged by roots this year causing rain water to back up. I contacted Star Rooter on the weekend. They placed me first on the schedule this Monday morning. After one hour they unplugged 3 drain lines, permitting water to flow to the drain opening at the curb. They used a 4000 psi pressure cleaning system to get the job done without damaging the underground perforated flex pipe. I appreciate their friendly, efficient and quality service!

Juan and Fred are solid guys who know what they're doing, and do it well. I
had a catastrophic sewer lateral failure, which my plumber of 20 years was
unable to clear. Picture a bubbling pond of sewage. He referred me to Star,
and they came out right away. It turned out to be a tricky problem as the line
ran in an unexpected direction for a good 100', rather than the more
reasonable 40' run one would guess from above ground, and being an
apartment building, there were multiple connecting lines feeding the lateral.
It took them all the equipment and manpower to finally get the line running,
and after closer inspection, it was clear that the line as is was not
salvageable. Pipe bursting was not an option as a long forgotten repair had
been made with a length of duct iron. Fred and Juan navigated the city
permits, including some one-of-a-kind requirements, plotted a new, shorter
lateral line, and completed the essential work in 2 days. They were always
clear, on time, transparent, and the work their teams did was solid. I would
unreservedly recommend them for any major project.
As another plus, after an unexpected rain, it turned out that they missed one of the downspout to sewer connections, resulting in a lot of soil getting washed away. I called Juan at noon, and they were out by day's end, reconnected the downspout, and backfilled the hole. Impressively responsive.

We had a good experience with them in the past so we called them again when we had a clogged sewer line. The tech who showed up was extremely rude, he doesn't talk he yells (in your face with his mask hanging below his chin) and speaks as if everyone is in the sewer cleaning business and should readily be able to comprehend what he is yelling about. He did a camera inspection and didn't bother to record it (it would cost me extra to have it recorded), when asked his response is ""do you know how much a camera cost""? I called their office to share my experience about the tech's demeanor and the person who called me back was the same rude tech, who claimed to be the owner. He explained to me told me why I should be thankful for his service! I hope this review expresses my gratitude

Avoid, Oakland rooter folks are much more professional and do a great job.
