I called Stans plumbing for my dishwasher leaking and Stan recommended A Step Above Appliance because he wanted to save me a service charge for coming out. He was right! It was a valve leaking on my dishwasher. definitely recommend Stans to my friends.

I can't believe that I haven't written a review for Stan before. Stan has been my plumber for DECADES. He does careful work, is fair in his pricing (if he isn't sure that he made a correct diagnosis and repair he will wait a week to bill and he has even billed me for half a service call for tiny jobs), gives good advice, is trustworthy, and has a very reassuring manner (many plumbing calls involve at least some degree of panic!).

The only negative is that he is busy so if you have water gushing NOW he probably won't be able to get there in time. He also does not do emergency night and weekend jobs any longer.

I've had the pleasure of using Stan for plumbing work both at the house and at my coffee shop...Stan's the Man! He returned my call right away, showed up on time, I didn't get over charged and he even did a darned nice job of cleaning up.

Stan is always my first recommendation to anyone who needs a plumber!

Stan and one of his guys, Greg, just repaired a burst water pipe that had frozen over due to the intense cold period that we have been experiencing in the mid-west. They were prompt, professional, and did the job well. Stan's looks can be imposing (think a tall head-shaven WWF) but don't let that fool you. He spoke to me politely and pointed out the various options - both pros and cons. I like the fact that he did not try to string me along for repairs that I did not need. Greg was great, even as he got wet from all the pipe leaks, in this freezing cold. Stan's rates are likely not the cheapest, but I would go for his work because of the quality.
