Recommended Customer Reviews

I've been a customer with Stan's since the Strand family joined the company, and prior to that, with the older Strand's company for about 10 years combined time. The service with Stan's is on the same excellent level as it always has been. Their service people are knowledgeable and courteous, regardless of the time of day or night. I've searched many years for an reliable company for heating and cooling, and I wouldn't use anyone else.

BEWARE These people are scam artists that want to inflict as much damage as they can on to your family. They were at my house for 15 minutes and wanted to sell me a new AC system for 10,000 dollars. What they got for 15minutes was 270 dollars, Thanks John your the greatest just BEWARE

Two Days after the repair service from Stan's, I received a phone message from them. Assuming they we're doing a follow up on the service, I was surprised when the messagthis dictated they wanted to update their information as to the owner of the house. The woman asked if I was the new owner or just someone watching the house, and asked me to call her back to update their information on who the current owner is.
I found it very strange and intrusive. I have owned the house for 10 years. Maybe they need to work on the customer service on the front end.

I came home from vacation yesterday afternoon to no AC in my house. A phone call to Stan's at 2:00pm and they had a technician to my house by 3:30. He (John) was very courteous, knowledgable, and had the parts he needed on his truck. I appreciate their prompt and professional service!

The only 24 hour repair business that is actually 24 hours. My AC broke on the day it hit 106 and I came home in the evening to find a hot house and panting dogs.
I called all the 24 hour repairmen google could find and the ones that answered their phones said they could schedule me for the afternoon of the next day which is obviously not truly 24 hour service.
I called Stan's after hours number, left a message, and had a return phone call from a technician within an hour.
The repairman came out and fixed everything up at 10:30 at night and the cost was totally reasonable.
This business is owned by the people who used to own Strand Brothers. The current corporate Strand Brothers business is slow and unhelpful so if you're used to the old service of Strand from when they were a family business, you'll find that kind of local business service with Stan's.

Before you call them for service, you should know that they charge an unbelievable $222 per hour for their service calls!!! And that doesn't include the $75 charge for just showing up. So our recent repair to replace a capacitor (total time to diagnose and repair the unit was 20 minutes) cost us $185!! It was a total ripoff. I will never call them again and would never recommend them to anyone.

Do not mess with these people! They try to play the "good ol' boy" on the phone but cannot follow through. They tried hard to accommodate my schedule with Saturday appts. but canceled twice. Then gave me a choice to have a 3-5 afternoon appt. which they never called to confirm as promised. I got tired of waiting at home to hear from them, called them and received an "oh yeah, I'm sure he's on his way". I had to insist on a confirmation of that which resulted in another new promised arrival time. What is really strange? They want prepayment on the phone before coming out on the appointment. UGGHHG ! Nothing like getting jerked around!

My appointment was for between 3-5. At 5:00 I got a call saying Steve was delayed. I appreciated the call. Steve is fabulous!!

These folks IMHO systematically circumvented my warranty and contributed to the death of several system parts. My house was built by David Weekley in 2003 and Stan's Heating and Air installed the Carrier Puron system. I signed up diligently for their Gold service which came out TWICE annually for regular cleaning and maintenance. They "found" a coolant leak but could not "determine" the location of the leak. This happened for years. Never could find it, but kept charging the coolant (which costs some money by the way). Finally after about 7 years (yep I was that dumb and simply believed the factory authorized dealer and servicer) they FOUND the leak. It was in the evaporator coil. Mercy me, heavens, I am so glad.....however, NOW the warranty was not in place and even though THEY installed it, THEY serviced it, THEY knew there had been a leak the entire time, THEY WOULD NOT WARRANT THE WORK OR EVEN GO TO BAT WITH CARRIER FOR THE PART COST. They were going to charge me for the WHOLE repair even though they had known it was an issue for the entire time since they installed it. And by the way, I did talk to an owner of Stan's that basically said he would not do anything for me.....even one of the customer service folks there that had been there for years said that they should have taken care of my unit and only charged labor as it really seemed to be Stan's problem. She also thought that it was not "right" that they just blew me off.
I called Davis and Company to come look at my unit, because Stan's was not getting another cent from me. They said that any idiot would have known that the Evap Coil was leaking (and it was leaking for years in his opinion due to the accumulation of gunk) and he showed me all the residue in the pan below it that had been collecting for years. The coolant has something added to in in the coolant lines and if the resudue was below the coil, then it had to leak out of it. Oh, he also determined the main reason that there was a noise was NOT due to whatever Stan's guy had said...but rather, my blower motor was going out. So, I replaced the blower motor, had it serviced, replaced the Evap Coil and am still HOPPING MAD.
I am a Realtor and make recommendations all day long to folks...Stan's will be on my DON'T list. Awful service. Awful maintenance. And they basically suckered me out of my warranty replacement of a coil at least.
Don't use them.

Only use this outfit if you hire your own independent inspector to watch every move they make! They cannot be trusted to do whats right. Four years ago they installed a new unit and had to make numerous (service call) visits to make it run properly which it never did. One "technician" they sent spent 3 hours on his phone talking to someone in the office getting instructions and having to borrow my tools to work on the unit. I recently called in 2 independent companies who both said the same exact thing. Neither one has ever seen such a lousy installation. When my wife called Stan's, they said they would be happy to make a service call,at our expense, then fix the problem at our expense. Not only is the work horrible, it is out of any known code. We are looking at about $2,000.00 to transfer the 55 degree air under the house to the 85 degree air inside the house.
