ref $87 coupon on their web site.
Had kitchen sink clogged and called Stans for service.
When tech arrived i was told that repair would require an additional $89 trip charge per his supervisor.
I then called Stans office and was advised that this service charge is waved.
Once the charges were settled the tech did a good job clearing the line but feel this hidden charge quoted on arrival left a bad impression.
The tech was only doing what he was instructed and this extra charge should be included on the ad.
Stans, be up front with your customers.

They came immediately and did a great job at a reasonable price! Others wouldn't come for 4 days, charged more.

I had a pipe burst due to the freeze and it happened on a Sunday morning. I contacted Stan's emergency number and the lady went through all the extra charges which I agreed to. The technician arrived a couple of hours later and I turned on the water again so he could locate the leak. Keep in mind no damage had occurred to this point. He repaired the leak which was in a pipe running from the water heater. I paid Stan's $570. I woke up the next morning and my entire laundry room was flooded and the ceiling and floor were ruined. I called Stan's again and another technician arrived a couple of hours later. There was a "new" leak a couple of inches from the other "repair". This technician replaced the entire pipe this time at no charge. I asked him what about the damage to my laundry room and he said you need to talk to Brian. I did and was informed that since this was a "NEW" leak Stan's would NOT accept responsibility. Seems like if the first technician would have replaced the entire pipe this would have all been avoided. NEVER doing business with STAN again

I had to replace my HVAC unit last year and Stan's did a great job at a fair price. Since then they have been good communicators and called me to ensure I took advantage of the free maintenance visits. Their technician Sam Marquez did a great job--called to let me know he was on his way and he did a thorough inspection and answered all my questions. Very professional service.

NEVER, EVER use Stan's Heating, Air & Electrical. I was told that there was a $130 charge to come out plus the cost of repairs.

The technician came out and then told me that just to do the diagnostic, it would be another $265.

And that does not include the actual repair.

This is called bait and switch! And they think they have you because you want something fixed..

If I could give them 0 stars, I would!

Recently installed a Navien tankless water heater. Called to ask about the quality of the insulation on the pipes that run outside the house to the water heater. I was given a sales pitch for a house winterization evaluation costing $70. No thank you Stan's for now and in the future.

Sam Marquez came out from Stan's to perform our semi-annual HVAC checkup. He found mold just starting in the plenum and recommended a UV appliance to combat it. I had him install it and big Kudos to Sam for spotting it and a great solution to remedy it. Stan's has another great employee in Sam. Sam really know HVAC systems and happily and expertly explained everything he did. I highly recommend Stan's and will remember to ask for Sam again in the future!

While I appreciate the need to have every component of my system replaced to prevent problems, the line item pricing in the quote I was provided from Stans was just not reasonable. The honeywell zone board I was quoted was over $1800. The company I went with to replace my system ended up recommending the same honeywell zone board but charged $460. I got the same Carrier system that Stans quoted me, a new zone board, an additional air duct in one of the bedrooms, an ApcoX pollen filter with a 2 year labor warranty for $7k cheaper. I know Stans does a lot of good work in the Capital area but the mark ups are just too much.

In short: We experienced a stressful repair with a junior technician. I was led to believe the only option was to dive into an expensive repair with drywall, tile, and other next steps until I asked for a senior plumber who fixed the issue in minutes.

If you go with this company for plumbing, I recommend thinking critically about the solutions you're provided, especially if you have an older home.

After some persistence I was able to speak with the plumbing GM and he was nice enough to chat with me about my experience. I appreciate him taking the time to hear me out and I hope the plumbers I saw have learned a valuable lesson not to make things up when they're unsure of what to do next.

I once had a good opinion of Stan's Heating and Airconditioning. No more.
I received a brochure from Stan's in the mail several weeks ago, advertising a Carrier Series II AC/Heat Pump for $10,832. I called Stan's to get an estimate for my house. The written estimate delivered by email on November 9th was $15,874, that is, 45% more than the advertised price. There were also discrepancies between the amount for Stan's discount and a rebate from Austin Energy, and the amounts on the written estimate. I sent an email on November 13th to the agent for Stan's asking why the discrepancies were so large. No response. I called Stan's headquarters on November 16th. I was given the estimator's phone number. I called and left a message asking for a call back. None. I called Stan's headquarters on November 17th and asked to speak to the sales manager or another manager. The operator said she would send an email to the agent and his supervisor. Again, no response.
My best guess is that the prices on the brochure were low-ball prices. That's no way to run a reputable business.
