I've used this company regularly for routine maintenance every 6 months. For several years it was more than changing filters as the system was fairly new. Then we had an issue of uneven heating/cooling. They sent somebody over. Long story short, he gave a quote nearly double of the next person. He also misdiagnosed the issue. And when we decided to go with the less expensive quote, they still charged us for coming out to give the quote. Repeated requests failed to elicit anything but a curt, negative response.
Needless to say we've terminated our annual contract with them.

On the phone they said 1 hour to install water heater. This was confirmed by all companies I got quotes from. It took stahl 8.5 hours. I lost a day of work, my laundry room flooded, the warranty papers got ruined, and they upped the price by taking the old water heater without asking ( I would have disposed of it in my company dumpster for free ). The installer left no receipt or invoice and changed the price three times. I called for a replacement of the warranty, registration and manual but was told by the curt secretary that she's have to check with the owner to see if they could ""do that sort of thing."" Finally, the workmanship is jury rigged quality at best. Completely amateur. See frightening photographs attached. AND one of copper solder joints he installed is leaking. As if that weren't enough, the main water line coming into the house is suddenly leaking though we've never had a problem before. My mother had two terrible experiences with them in the past and I didn't know this until after I hired them. Third strike. I highly recommend looking elsewhere.

Thank you Stahl for replacing the expansion tank on my hot water heater and charging $$235. Your plumber left and the water heater was still leaking. He told me it would it would leak for 2 to 3 days but would adjust and the leak would stop. How stupid was I ???? Still leaked five days later. I called another company and they came in one hour. Turns out it was a leaking valve.

Your plumber lied to me. Left without further investigation and was happy to take my check.

Don't use this company. Rip off!

Stahl Heating, etc. are THE ABSOLUTE WORST! THEY ARE CROOKS!!! THEY ARE THIEVES!!! They installed a hot water tank in my basement that has been leaking for a year and a half. They did not check my water pressure & installed a thermal expansion tank, assuring me that that would fix the problem. Circa $300 later & I still have the exact same problem. What I actually needed was a regulator on my main water line. By the way, the part that they installed was $45.00. They were in my house for 30 mins MAX & charged me circa $300.00. Also, they wanted to then install the pressure regulator for circa $335.00. I called 4 other plumbers who would do both jobs (parts & labor) for less than $300 total. STAHL ARE CROOKS!!!

Called them for a routine ac maintenance call. The drainage pipe was disconnected and the tech did not resolve. As a result my ac shutoff after filling with water. Damage is significant. Was very rude and when I called them. Be warned - do not use

I've been experiencing issues with my main line backing up every 5-7 months and was told by another company that snaking the pipe is nothing more than a short-term fix and that eventually we'd need the dig and replace the line. Their estimate seemed to be high, so I waited 6 months and called Stahl figuring they could clear the pipe and give me their quote.

They were extremely polite and courteous on the phone and upon arrival, despite showing up late. From there my experience was really disappointing.

Upon filling them in on my situation they outright asked what other company I used in the past. When I shared this information, they scoffed at and badmouthed the company insisting they sent salesmen and not plumbers. They asked what their diagnosis/scope of work was and laughed and guaranteed that what I was told could not be true.

They used their camera to evaluate my situation. They insisted snaking the pipe would not help but, for about $400 more, they could essentially power wash the inside of it. This wouldn't fix the ongoing problem but would eliminate some of the grime that was built up and might help a bit with flow.

They completed that process but in doing so broke another small portion of a pipe (which they replaced at no cost). They then suggested I consider digging and replacing the pipes, the exact scenario they scoffed at earlier. I asked them for a quote and it came back over 10% higher than the previous quote I received despite the scope of work being the exact same.

The one star is because of their courtesy on the phone. But showing up arrogant that they have answers that seemingly no other Pittsburgh plumber has, and then giving me the exact same evaluation at a higher price is what's disappointing. For a local, family owned company I wasn't expecting this. Add on that they broke a small piece of pipe, left items in my sink, and tore a hole in my hose, I would suggest you seek out other plumbers before using them.

I bought a house that Stahl heating installed a AC unit on, I was told at the closing I could call them to turn the air on, after being stood up on four different occasions I gave up and called someone else to turn the unit on it turns out he never finished the job,it costed me over 500.00 to finish the job, have been trying since, witch was 10 months ago to have him reimurse me never returns my calls. Think long and hard before you use Stahl Heating they can't be trusted!!!

Do not use this company. Installed kitchen faucet (We had already purchased) and changed cut off washer valve. At the most a two hour job. The tech spent more time talking than working and charged for three hours. ( Plumber hourly wage $93.00 per hour. )

Stahl installed a high efficiency Rheem furnace in 2015, replacing my ancient 80% furnace. They added central air this past April. They showed up on time, quality work, professional, fair. I have them do a pm service on my furnace annually. No issues. During the AC installation, the tech discovered that rain water was leaking into the breaker box via a hole in the outside wall, following the electric cable. He showed it to me and patched the hole on his own initiative. Would use them again.
