Recommended Customer Reviews

1. Won't use this company again.
2. Initial bid $1,500 but then told it was understated by $500.
3. In the middle of the job I was told it would be $700 more because sinks were leaking due to old pee trap seals. (Owner failed to tell me that this could cause cost increase) I had no choice but to comply and pay or I would have had four leaking sinks)
4. Bottom line is the company does not honor their bids and you don't know what the final cost will be.
5. Possibly a DTPA violation since I know nothing about plumbing.
6. Owner offered a measly 5% discount on a nearly 100% increase in cost over his initial quote.

Staggs has been out go-to for years. They have done everything including a slab leak in the garage, faucet replacement, upstairs pipe leak, and an outdoor leak. While they are pretty prompt to show up, they don't seem to be the highest quality and their ethical standards are questionable.
A couple of my experiences:
1. They came to repair a leak from upstairs. After cutting in the wrong locations in my ceilings twice, they finally found the leak behind a sink. After "fixing" the issue, it is leaking a little over a year later from the same place. Shoddy work.
2. They came out to fix a leak in the year behind my water meter. Quoted $500, which I agreed to. While I was at work, they decided that the leak was a bit behind where they thought it was and needed to dig more. They talked to my wife, who wasn't invoiced in initial discussions and told her it was going to be closer to $2500 and demanded a payment of $1500 to proceed. They actually billed $3000. For that they couldn't even be bothered to finish the same day, despite having clear access to the leak by 5pm.

The owner Randy staggs is very dishonest. I had sent him a quote from a different company and he said he could do a few thousands lower. I am sure can you what the quote would be knowing that he has been in business for over 30 years and worked with many insurance companies. When I got the quarterback I was shocked to find out it was not only less than the other company but 10K more than the other company!!! I am sure that Randy knew this before him and he was just trying to get the $400 fee for the initial visit out of me! I think that he robbed me of the face knowing full well that his estimate is higher he lied to me!!! Stay away from this company as they are very dishonest and very overpriced, not to mention the owner is a liar!

I had a major leak in my water line between the meter and my house.Due to an ice storm, and lots of rain, it was impossible to detect until I called Staggs plumbing. They were prompt, professional, and knowledgeable, and got right to work. Even through standing water they found the leak and repaired it. These guys were awesome--will never call anyone else when I have plumbing problems--thanks so much!

I schedule an appointment for 3:30-4:00, I received a text at 3:45 that the technician was in route, at 4:00 the technician called me and said his machine was broken and his company couldn't come out until tomorrow afternoon. Don't thrust this company, horrible service.

To make a long story short, I had a few issues (specifically, irrigation electrical was accidentally cut, water lines not properly connected and had to go back and forth with the lead tech) but once the owner was notified, he resolved them.

Both toilets started to leak from the bottom. I called Stagg's and two guys, Cory and Travis were here within 1 1/2 hours. They fixed the problem and were delightful men. I had called Stagg's a couple of weeks ago to see if they would go to my moms house in Richardson, and again, they offered wonderful service. They came out the same day for her as well. She too was very happy. I will definitely use Stagg's and request Cory and Travis to come to my home.

Called and sent an email to Skaggs about having some work done. They say response time is one day for an estimate (wrong!). I had to call and remind them of their statement they will get back in one day with estimate. So finally someone calls from Skaggs after my call back to them and he gives me an outrageous price over the phone. I declined. I cannot use a service that is so difficult to deal with.

Until recently, I would rate Staggs Plumbing with five stars. They have done several jobs for me and I used to be impressed. Their employees do not stand behind their work a day over the one year warranty verbally discussed, and a previous repair was quoted at a much higher rate. In addition, after they left from the most recent job, I noticed a stud was missing from my wall. None of the three Staggs employees who were in my home talked to me about this before doing so, they just did it. Their office schedulers are great to work with, as are some of their plumbers; the problem for me is if I cannot trust all of their employees, I will not hire or recommend them moving forward.

I would have given them 5 stars but I was quoted $25 less by the office and charged more for the flushing of my tankless water heater. They are polite, quick and helpful.
