Perhaps 2-3 years ago, Maurice and Squam Lake Plumbing provided decent service, but in August 2023 they suck! His whole attitude towards estimating and replacing our sump pump in Sanbornton was terrible. He was rude and disrespectful as we were trying to hire them.
I wish you better luck than we had (but I doubt it).
Maurice and his crew and great!
I am a home builder in MA and recently bought a lake house at Squam as a second home.
I needed some minor boiler work done as well as a service call.
The response time, pricing and workmanship were great. I'm glad I found Squam Lake Plumbing and Heating.
Tom B.I was in a bind before the Christmas holidays and needed a range and dishwasher reconnected in our Sandwich home after having a kitchen floor replaced. I called every plumber I could find and no one could do it or would even call me back. Luckily I kept trying and contacted Squam Lake P&H and even though they were booked solid, they squeezed me in the next day. The guys showed up on time, were thorough and professional and even took their boots off. Great service and didn't gouge on price, though I said I was happy to pay a premium. Next time I'll call them first!
The work they did was great. However, they ignored the verbal and written request of how we wanted the work done. The one big issue is that they ignored that we wanted the water capped off in the pantry and then brought down through the floor into the basement from another location. They dropped the cold water where we wanted it but the hot water was dropped from the pantry through the rotten beam that we need to replace. Because of this, we had another plumber come in and redo all the work they did and it was all within code. BUT we had to wait 4 weeks - that meant 4 weeks before being able to replace the rotten beam. So frustrating. The cost was significant only to have another come and redo the work. Waste of money and time.
I so appreciate and respect the team at Squam Plumbing for their commitment to and creativity with solving problems. We have called them with a few complicated problems and they are Sherlock holmes masked as a plumber. Persistent, Creative, kind AND solutions oriented!
Please don't ignore an unbiased review... I have no personal connection to Squam Lakes Plumbing and Heating. They were recommended to me by our previous homeowner and I don't typically write reviews. That being said, I would like to share my experiences; Squam Lakes has a crew of technicians that are personable, professional, punctual, and informed. They also happened to be very clean. (Yes, that is a big deal!) I cannot speak to price comparison because I don't know, and to be honest, I really don't care. You get what you pay for and the bill is never unreasonable or questionable. At 5:30 this morning I found we were without heat or hot water. (Four adolescent boys in the house=showering is not negotiable.) I called Squam Lakes at 7 and they were there at 7:35. By 9 they had figured out and solved the problem. This was the day after a major storm, and I am certain that I was not the only person blowing up their phone line. Nobody enjoys having to call a service technician for anything, but Squam Lakes makes it a little less painful when it is necessary.
I have used Squam Lake Plumbing on a number of occasions. They are quick to reply, good at what they do and honest and reasonably priced.
