I made a service call through American home shield and like the other review say this grouchy guy named Jim came out tried to upsell me on different parts for the hot water heater and only replaced one of the two heater elements that were clearly bad and also he did a really shoddy job on the pex work in the line blew avoid this company at all cost

Wow, I wish I had read the reviews on here before I allowed AHS to send Springdale plumbing to deal with my toilet issue! Same song and dance as a lot of these reviews, ""Jim"" was grouchy from the start, since AHS made him do a full diagnostic on the toilet before agreeing to replace it. Once the toilet came off, he said the flange had to be replaced as well.

Guess what? The flange wasn't covered under the warranty, supposedly because it was not bolted down when the toilet was installed. This made it a ""workmanship issue"" and not a ""wear/tear issue."" I wasn't in the bathroom when ""Jim"" removed the toilet, so all I have is his word that it wasn't bolted down. I know from experience that not all flanges even need to be bolted down. Of course, he wanted to go back with a cast iron flange, which cost more, and would require him to ""jackhammer"" part of the slab to make space for it. The price for all of this: $750!!!!!

Jim wouldn't just install the new toilet without selling the flange as well. I tried talking to ""Mike"" at the office, and explained that he was already getting paid to detach/reset the toilet under the warranty claim (since the toilet was covered), and that he was double-billing with the $750.00 for the flange replacement, which would also account for a detach/reset. He refused to back that out of his cost, and refused to give a line-item estimate for the flange work. He also tried some sort of ""sad sack"" routine about how long he's been in business, how little money he makes, and how I probably made more money than him. How would he know what I make? Plumbers do pretty well after all, especially when the charge through the nose for work that is not really needed!

It was the day before Thanksgiving, I was over a barrel, and Springdale Plumbing knew it. I couldn't get anyone else out to do the flange work at a reasonable (i.e. market) price, so I had to bend over and allow them take advantage of me. Oh, and ""Jim"" tried to upsell me for a more expensive toilet 4 separate times! I guess he didn't the word ""no"" the first 3 times.

Incredibly fast with great customer service. Made a same day appointment with Mike the owner. Jim called me en route. In, out, done.

DO NOT USE THESE GUYS THEY ARE CROOKS! Dealt with these crooks twice on a home warranty claim. First time was told they can't do the work because my home warranty wouldn't let them cut through walls but was quick to tell me they could come back out and do the job for $800. When I ended up doing the job for $43. Second time my hot water heater was leaking and this crook comes back out and gives me EVERY excuse why he couldn't do the job under my home warranty but could once again come back out and do it again. After the Crook and I talked about it he ended up just walking off. Do not use!

i had the same experience as lots of these reviews. Broken toilet, called AHS. They sent Jimmy from Springdale Plumbing. He says he can't work on the toilet unless he installs a new shutoff valve and pressure regulator. This isn't covered of course. Now we have knocking pipes and he said the problem is that we now need an expansion tank on the hot-water tank (which he asked to see when he fixed the toilet). Stay away from this clown and if AHS assigns him, ask for someone else.

Our hot water heater is not heating water, so we called American home shield to submit a claim. Jim from Springdale plumbing came out, said it was a preexisting issue, so the warranty company wouldn't pay. When I tried to dispute the issue, AHS wanted to charge a second service fee to get another opinion because they can only operate on what Jim told them. When encountered, both Jim and the guy at the office became irate and declined any additional work. They are thieves that come out to ""diagnose"" get a service fee and not do any real work. I have other plumbers coming to do the job they couldn't.

I was assigned Springdale Plumbing through American Home Shield. I got a call from the scheduler and asked for the plumber to wear a mask in my home due to the high cases of Covid in our area and having a 2 year old immunocompromised son. I was told ""oh we won't do that"" and then was lectured about how masks don't work . As a health care worker and mother, I am appalled that a service provider that enters someone's home in a pandemic will not comply with guidelines put in place to keep the public safe. The fact that Springdale Plumbing will not follow a simple request from a customer in order to keep an at risk child safe is disturbing.

Stay AWAY from Springdale Plumbing! They do not know what they are doing.
I put in a repair request through AHS on a brand new toilet that was not completely flushing. We had just completed a master bath remodel, and I suspected that the tank was not filling all the way. This is a simple problem to solve, but since this was a new toilet (under warranty), I did not want to risk damaging the parts trying to fix it myself and negate the warranty. Also, I had not ruled out the possibility of an obstruction, despite the sewer pipe being sealed during construction work.
The first thing I noticed about Jim, the tech, was that he disparaged the brand of toilet I had purchased which was a top-of-the-line American Standard. He then tried to sell me a $800 toilet -- this, prior to even attempting to diagnose the problem.
He did snake the toilet with a standard six-foot snake, but thereafter refused to work any further.
I asked about the water level and he said it was fine. He left saying that AHS would not pay for any further diagnostics -- which I disputed after a quick phone call to AHS. After this, despite the work order remaining open, they ignored by calls and texts requesting them to return and snake a longer distance than six feet. Jim lead me to believe there was a clog along the sewer line leading to the clean-out valve, but he refused to return and fix this issue despite AHS saying this was covered.
AND HERE'S THE CLINCHER: Later, a friend came over to take a look at our toilet. He adjusted the fill valve to increase the amount of water, and viola, the toilet flushed perfectly. Turn clockwise (right) to fill, counter-clockwise (left) to decrease water level; but make sure water doesn't rise higher than overfill valve. Easy. Now the toilet works perfectly.
It's scary that Jim at Springdale Plumbing didn't know this. Or, perhaps he did and was hoping I'd buy that $800 toilet from them, or self-pay for all the services AHS would also pay for. I don't anticipate getting a refund for my insurance co-pay. My advice: RUN from Springdale Plumbing.

They came to our rental house to address two concerns, one was the shower, the other was the kitchen faucet. They didn't even test the kitchen faucet but stated there was a water restriction in the lines. I later checked the kitchen faucet by shutting off the water below the sink and discovered the problem was the mixing valve. They would not return when notified of the problem. I do not even a real licensed plumber came out.
I have to give 1 star because I cannot give no stars.
NEVER CALL THESE GUYS!!!

We have had service from them twice in two years, and we had trouble both times. First time, the guy said he smelled no gas so therefore our hot water heater must be fine. He couldn't find anything wrong with it. Well, it was leaking gas. Third time he came out, he finally fixed it. Fast forward now to a toilet issue. It's leaking. He comes out once, says it's fixed, it was not. He comes out a second time, says it's fixed, it was not. Still dripping. He doesn't check his work because it's really easy to see and hear it's still leaking. Not having him out a third time. Also does not follow any covid guidelines at all, and I know that's important to some.
