Vinny V.The BEST around. You want knowledge, reliability and a good experience? Go no further.
Didn't do the job correctly and charged us $350 and there was a huge mess in our basement after he was done. Had to call another company to come in the morning to actually be able to flush our toilets and take a shower because he did nothing, he didn't have the correct equipment said that we had a possible root ball or broken pipe. Try water jetting and still charged us $350 and it was none of that.
Hate that I even had to give him one star to make the review
Madison M.The best plumbing service around. Always friendly and patient. 24 hour service and emergency service. All the guys are great. Louie is so personable and the ladies who work the phones are so pleasant and polite. Thank you Speedy!
Rich T.They are a bit pricey (about 300 to unclog a drain) but they called me right back and came right out. Not too mention it was a holiday weekend. The tech who came out had to snake/unclog and fix an issue from another plumber who was a complete fool and almost caused thousands of dollars in damage in my home (Db pLumbing out of Nutley- never use them). Anyway, the plumber they sent out was very careful and also even mentioned how he loves his job. Hearing that from someone, even on a holiday weekend, you know you're in good hands and made us feel very secure. Sure enough they fixed the issue and I paid and even tipped him. I would recommend them again! Thank you speedy!
Speedy had a plumber at my house a few hours after I called about a clogged drain and flooded basement. Their plumber Kevin was masked, courteous, efficient, and thorough. He had the main clog cleared in a few minutes, and then he cleared a second clog in that line between the second floor and the basement a few minutes later. The service was excellent and the price was fair. I would recommend them without any reservations.
Bobby A.The situation started off with a big mess: our sewer pipe had clogged. Most homeowners in this area - especially those with older homes, like ours - know how touch and go that old terra cotta piping can be. We were having to pour chemicals down the pipe often to keep the roots from growing in and blocking the pipe up.
Well, first things first: Kevin from Speedy got here the same day as the pipe clog, and fixed the situation very quickly (and was a nice gentleman to boot). He did a scope of the pipe -- not only did he show me where the roots were coming through the old pipe, but even where a buildup of heavy-ply TP can clog your galvanized piping as well.
Then -- the big reveal: a huge hole in the terra cotta section, about 25 feet down the pipe (near halfway to the city sewer). If that pipe broke, it would cost nearly $25,000 to excavate, replace and repave the entire driveway -- and now, we knew it was just a matter of weeks.
Kevin then told me of a new bladder lining system that they could put down the pipe, and with high-pressure steam, it would inflate and create a hard shell (much like a pipe) on the insides of the existing pipe. And this stuff couldn't be penetrated by roots. Nuh-uh.
Today, Eric (the manager) and his crew came to the house to install the liner; it worked like a charm. Now, I never have to worry about that pipe again -- and neither will the next owner (a very seriously nice selling point in this area, for sure! I absolutely love making improvements to my house that I know will help with resale, and will be appreciated by the new owners)
Speedy did the job properly, taking safety precautions, and came in before deadline and under budget. What's not to love?
THANK YOU Speedy (& Eric & Kevin & crew).
Jeanne L.Called Speedy a few weekends ago for an emergency water boiler replacement on a weekend. I've been calling other plumbers around the area to no avail before I stumbled upon Speedy. Got a call back from them within minutes -- they were able to send a technician out same day! Super friendly and efficient, thank you so much!! Highly recommended!
Positives: Called for service and they sent a technician right away!
Negatives: Tech changed the water spout in my bathtub because the diverter wasn't working. But he did not line up the spout with the back plate and it looks very unsightly (see attached pic).
Additionally, I told the tech that my toilet kept making wooshing sounds periodically and that I had recent replaced the flapper and also the floater.
He said the problem seems to be the lever and tried to bend the existing lever but said it'll probably be cheaper to replace the whole toilet for which he can do for $700 & change if he supplies the toilet or $350 if I get the toilet.
He takes off to local plumbing supply place and returns promptly with cheap universal lever and the tub spout. After struggling installing the toilet lever said that's best he can do.. I'll have to hold the lever to flush. (Which remains in open position and I'm forced to have to wait to tap it close otherwise he keeps running!),
Went to his truck, wrote me a bill for $180.
The toilet lever gets stuck in the down position and every time I take a shower.. I'm reminded of how unprofessional the spout looks with the back plate just hanging there.
Oh yeah.. He needed to turn off the water to toilet from under the vanity while we was working. He left the vanity a mess (never put back the items he pulled out to work) and so much water on the inside of the vanity. So sloppy!
The diverter runs about $20 and the universal toilet tank lever runs under $10 at home depot. I paid $180 for this service call and a $20 tip. Yes, I am stupid.
I waited a couple of weeks to call the main office (wanted to give myself some time to cool off) and left a message with the call center. ""Joe"" calls me up immediately and without knowing what I was calling for was rude and impatient. ""...What do you want? I'm driving!...""
I wasn't going to post this review but after that exchange..
Poor service, poor customer support and I can't believe the owner would allow Joe to deal with the public. I would definitely NOT recommend this business.
P.S.
Next day, Louie (identified hisself as a manager) patiently listened to my grievances and said he'll look into it. Later in the evening, the tech called and justified his sloppy work by saying I should have just replaced the toilet. Then started arguing the prices he quoted me.
Poor service, unjustified prices and rude after sales customer support.
Hope this helps someone when they are trying to decide what plumber to let into their home.
Mike P.I used these guys in April 2020 to unclog and clean out my 90 year old sewer drain. From the moment they arrived, they asked great questions, understood and diagnosed the problem properly and in a way that made complete sense to me. They were very polite, neat and informative, and they had the tools, skill and manpower needed to get the job done right the first time. I have had zero problems since they were here. I highly recommend Speedy. Thank you Speedy!
These guys are the best in the business. I'm so glad that one of my neighbors recommended them to me almost 10 years ago. They are extremely knowledgeable and go above and beyond the scope of their services. I highly recommend them to anyone with plumbing issues whether it's an emergency or regular maintenance.
