Dan and his group are a great local source of plumbing services and I highly recommend them. They have my plumbing business now!

Pros: I called and they were able to send somebody to the job site quickly/same day (their shop is several blocks away). They gave me a quote and that's what I was charged. They did replace a shower/ tub diverter/fixture.

Cons: The price was $607 and change. There was a $69 fee for showing up to assess the problem and $538 to supply the fixture and install it. The fixture was not installed with the proper knobs (the knobs that would have come with the fixture when it was purchased). The fixture was installed in a rental property, so I didn't scrutinize it - if it worked, I was good with it. However, I got a call from the tenant a few weeks later saying the knobs were loose and wobbly. I called Speedy Rooter and they sent somebody out to address the issue. They never told me that the handles were not the right ones. Now, (13 months later) I got another complaint about the handles and I met my regular plumber at the property to check it out. And he pointed out that the handles were no meant to go with that fixture.

In summary, I knew Speedy Rooter would be expensive because they feed off of ""emergency"" situations. The fixture MIGHT have cost $200 at a plumbing supply place (I'm being generous). That leaves $338 for two hours worth of work (again, a generous amount of time for this job). And, I paid them $69 for the original trip to assess the problem and give me a quote. So, I paid $165+ per hour to have a fixture installed with jury rigged handles. If that sounds good to you... give 'em a call.

Warning about this place. I had issues called them on Thursday, said they'd send someone right out as he was available now, no one came until Friday afternoon. I was told there was a $48 fee to even have someone come out, that goes towards the cost of the repair It was $277 to fix a shower valve that wouldn't stop flowing... it took them all of 10 minutes...they waived the $48 fee to come out because they didn't come for 24 hours after they said they would. So when I get the bill I call them and tell them that I was told that $48 would go to the bill. So it should've been $277-$48. I called and asked about it, the dispatch said ""I'll send you $48"" and hung up on me without saying another word. I will dispute this amount with my credit card company. BEWARE THIS COMPANY THEY CHARGE ""by the job"" rather than by the hour so 10 minutes cost me $277. CALL SOMEONE ELSE FOR YOUR OWN GOOD, SPEEDY ROOTER IF YOU WANT TO MAKE THIS RIGHT YOU HAVE MY INFO.

Thanks to Speedy Rooter for great service from start to finish. From the first phone call when Dan provided valuable and specific advice to the fast repair work, they were a pleasure to work with. I had an underground leak and a little online research made clear that I needed someone with thermal/acoustic equipment to find the leak so my entire front yard didn't need to be dug up or test holes all around the yard. All of the other plumbers who I called said they would dig up the yard. Speedy Rooter was the only company who knew what I was talking about when I first mentioned the acoustic lek detection and referred me to a Richmond company that offers the service. They found the leak immediately, and Speedy Rooter came out to repair the leak at a very reasonable cost and only had to dig up the small area around the leak. I understand that they are looking to purchase their own acoustic detection system. So, especially if you have an underground leak, I strongly recommend Speedy Rooter.
