Joseph is a nice guy, but he needs a number of more years of plumbing experience before he can be trusted on his own. He took apart an expensive plumbing fixture, and couldn't put it back together again. He took apart the handle in my other shower to see how it was put together, and changed the hot water settings, which I didn't know how to change back. The clog he fixed clogged again immediately. I had him fix the thermocouple in the water heater, and he put in too long a wire, which burned away, and he had to come back. In general, he took too long.

I had to call another plumber (Arroyo Plumbers). They were more experienced, and I trust them completely. One guy from Arroyo was a specialist in the fixture I had. I highly recommend them. But not Joseph, at this point in time.

He's not ready to be in business by himself yet. If he's with his more experienced friend, then he could do a good job. He's a hard worker, but he needs to be an apprentice for a lot longer.

Joseph responded promptly to a dual toilet drainage issue at my Santa Clara home and was able to come in substantially below his initial estimate by going through the kitchen drainage instead of the usual snaking from the root. He also offered a basement inspection. He seems like a trustworthy plumber who is offering his services at a good value and I would ring him up again in the future.

I can't recommend Spec Home Drain services any higher! Joe was/is professional, prompt, polite and a breath of fresh air for us. When our toilets and sinks started to overflow, he came at a moments notice, after hours and fixed our problem while being polite and courteous to us and our sleeping children by being quiet and quick.

If you are in need of plumbing help, and are anywhere near Santa Clara, call them, you will not be disappointed!

I called Joseph for a rooting job. He responded immediately and gave me a very reasonable quote. I appreciate his professionalism and demeanor whilst getting the job done for me. I also got a clean out installed with him. Everything's good so far. I think he did a terrific job!

Joseph takes his time to do the job, but he is very patient, knowledgeable and answered all my questions well. Also, he took a lot of trouble in working late night hours to get the job done. I really appreciate that!

My only negative comment about Joseph is that he failed to clean up completely after the job was done; and I had to do that myself. To this end, I understand he works with multiple clients in parallel and gets busy with other work. I wish there was a 4.5 star rating; I would have given that!

Do give Joseph a call whenever you face any plumbing issues.

This was the best plumbing service experience I've ever had. No one like to have the volcanic kitchen sink from hell but you know it happens and at the worst possible times. Had guests coming for a party and disposal wasn't working we tried everything we could think of but got no where quick. I got Joseph's number from a friend. Called and explained my situation and that I had around 50 people slated to show in a few hours. He was very kind and said he could be there within the hour. When he arrived he explained the problem lies beyond the disposal and it invoked cleaning out the clean out (where do they get these names?) So there were going to be guests arriving while the work was being done but fortunately Joseph had a professional appearance was polite and as I invasive as could be and compete the job. He left no mess behind completed the work in a timely fashion and his rates were less than half of an emergency call to three other plumbers I called that day. I highly recommend his services to anyone needing a plumber in Santa Cruz , San Jose, or surrounding areas.

I wish I could give Joseph 10 stars. It's every girl's nightmare to come home from work on a Friday night to find a clogged kitchen sink and the water RISING. wow, just thinking about it is making me break out in a sweat again.

I called in a panic and Joseph came the same night, around 11pm and spent a few hours clearing out the blockage. He was calm, respectful, courteous and thorough! I couldn't believe the level of professionalism which he exhibited. He never complained (it was Friday midnight for God sakes) and had a positive demeanor the entire time. he wasn't rushed and he simply explained in detail what he was doing if I asked. He cleared the blockage like a pro. Since he had to use my trash bin as a bucket to empty the dirty water out earlier, he even took the bin around my building to hose it down when he was finished with his job. whoa - that is excellent service right there.

I really thought I would have to offer my liver or first born as payment so I was bracing myself when I asked how much it would cost...but to my amazement, his PRICING IS SO FAIR. He is not out to gouge you, he genuinely takes pride in his trade and his work reflects that.

HIGHLY, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. I don't trust any other plumber, I will only call Joseph if I ever have any plumbing needs.

Joseph - You had a basic job of cleaning the drain by snaking. You have disappeared and left your low quality snaking cable stuck in my drain because of which I cannot get my service restored by any other plumber. You've got me hanging for 3 days and unresponsive since yesterday evening. This is my last attempt at reaching you. It is extremely unprofessional and caused me and my family so much hassle and pain. Plumber from another business http://www.yelp.com/biz/quality-plus-plumbing-santa-clara also called and said he can help you taking your cable out but you still won't come. I heard you said you will leave us in the trouble because you will not get any more money when you've already been paid for an unfinished job. Other plumbers are not able to take your cable out. Please come immediately to take the cable out. At least have this much professionalism or basic courtesy. I have a family with a small child and we will be without our basic necessity for 5 days until we can get someone to cut through the pipe and get your cable out.

UPDATE Jan 9th: After showing photos of the situation and asking him to come help, this is the response. ""Sir you can call another plumber because I just found out the machine wilt not be available to me now. I do apologise for any inconvenience."" To Which I responded: ""you need to pay for all the damages and return the money I paid you. you have not completed the job I paid you for"". This is what Joseph had to say after putting us through hell for 4 days: ""No I dont think so"" I am posting this review so that any other family does not go through the pain we went through. Hope this helps.

I used Joseph's service many times. He resolved water leak issues at the kitchen sink and one of the toilets. He came over and replaced the 3/8 inch pipe to resolve the kitchen leak and changed the toilet flush valve system to resolve the toilet flush leak.

I am quiet happy with him since he helps me out all the time with a very reasonable cost.

Joseph is great! He is courteous, explains the problem, and most reasonably priced among all the plumbers my fiancee called.

My shower would not turn off this morning after I showered and I called M S Plumber to come take a look and that guy wanted to charge me 600 and make a hole in the wall to replace a Moen Catridge! (which if you watch the YouTube video, is not hard to replace and definitely do not require a hole in the wall)

Anyway, in the evening my lovely fiancee found Spec Home Drain Services on Yelp and made an appointment with Joseph at 7.45pm. He then arrived on time, looked at the problem, took out the cartridge to make sure and explain how it is broken, went to the home depot by himself to pick up the replacement, came back, gave me the receipt and replaced the cartridge and voila, problem solved! The whole ordeal took about 2 hours and during the whole time he was very polite and friendly.

His service also includes a 1 year warranty, Now i can sleep soundly at night. Will definitely call him for any future plumbing. The world needs more people like Joseph.

It's 11:45p on a Sunday night and Joseph just left our house; problem resolved. Joseph closes at 5p on Sundays. I called three plumbers since Friday when we had a blockage. One was crazy expensive and had limited tools. The second to be fair, was nice but had a family emergency, so he was hard to contact. So I gave Spec Home a try given the ratings. Joseph answered all the calls and all the texts and went all out to fix our problem.

The thing that sticks out the most to me was how patient and how calm he was. He spent almost half an hour trying to detangle the snake in his machine and he just did it without so much as a word of frustration. He had to take care of multiple clients so he had to leave in the middle, but given it wasn't a crazy emergency for me, it was cool. It was just impressive to see his professionalism and demeanor at 11:00p at night on our roof all by himself to clear out our main line.

His prices are way reasonable, the best of the three plumbers I contacted and he has a one-year warranty for his work. Plumbing is hard work, especially as a one man job. And this guy is a hard worker. Thanks Joseph!
