Wow! Stated it would be 96/ hr minimum 1 hour. Came out did a lousy job on a drain, then said 196/ hr after hours. I called and they said it was stated correctly and the charge was for 2 hours, not the 30 minutes it took.

Spartan plumbing installed a water softener system in our house. Their service has been so bad. They did not install it properly - according to the manufacturers website and when I called to ask about it not one single person could speak knowledgeably about the warranty. The supervisor said he would stop by and take a look, he never showed up. When we complained about how low the installation was to the ground making it difficult to remove the housing to change filters they sent someone out to take pictures. That was two weeks ago. They do not return calls, come out when promised or follow up when they say they will. Personally, I would not recommend this company to anyone.

I wouldn't use this company again. In addition to charging an astronomical amount (they knew it was an insurance job) they promised to reimburse me for a valuable piece of pottery they broke during the course of the job. I couldn't find an exact replacement and so,trying to be nice, chose an inexpensive alternative. Despite repeated assurances that they would send me a check, five months have now passed with nothing in the mail. If they go back on their word over a relatively minor issue such as this, I cringe to think what they must do to get your business. You have been warned! 12/29/15 - Check now received.

Absolutely awful service. I tried contacting the manager several times after receiving a bill for service that wasn't finished. The plumber showed up, took one look at my water heater, left to ""go pick up a part"" and never came back. Every time I called to follow up I was told that the manager was ""out of the office"". Despite the fact that I never signed any invoices or agreed to any charges, they eventually just send my information to a collections agency. They claimed that I called them and told them I was fixing the heater though a warranty instead - which is impossible because the heater is very old and the company who makes the heaters no longer exists. Absolutely terrible customer service.

Our normal plumber had no way of getting us on the schedule for an emergency call so we called Spartan. I had these guys out for the better part of six hours dealing with stopped up pipes at our local business. Eventually they were nearing the end of ""normal hours"" and two guys were on the job. Both of our restrooms were a mess as well as our other drain access point when they told me that the problem was fixed. I was told that they could do some more thorough checking to make sure, but I would be getting into ""emergency hours"" and a different rate. I began pitching in with clean up. I looked up 30-45 minutes later to find the guys had bounced out. The mess was left right where they made it and our toilets had not been hooked back up to water.

It is clear to me that the closer it got to quitting time on a Friday evening the more these guys were ready to leave the job whether it was finished correctly or not. I've read through the review on YELP and it seems that people have had success with these guys in their homes for smaller jobs. I guess when the going gets a little tougher that these guys just weren't up for it. I was seriously miffed as I spent 90 minutes cleaning a giant mess and putting back the pieces for something I supposedly paid for.

I will not be calling these guys again. Please think twice before YOU do!

""Woohoo as good as gets... ""( what yelp says for 5 stars ) I'd say even better.
Late last night my kitchen sink was leaking - this has been on ongoing problem.

We've had OTHER plumbers come look ( about a year ago ), they basically came out and said not fixable ; 1000 dollar + project.... "" not today"".... So I DIY'd it.
Well last night the DIY wasn't going to cut it anymore. I knew I needed to have a plumber come out, after the last instance I was hesitant, worried about being ripped off etc. I jumped on yelp for some reviews - I couldnt believe the reviews on most of the pages...all of them sound so fake. I had no idea who to call. I called two other places, bigger more reviews.... Both said sorry cant be out for a couple days. Even after telling them I had no water to my whole house.

....Then Spartan.
I cannot say enough how glad I am that I called Spartan and that they were able to make it out today.

To start, they do give a window of time. Mine was 9 - 1. Windows are frustrating because it leaves you waiting BUT I got my call at 10 45 before the middle of the window and calls before- which is appreciated. The gal answering the phones was super friendly... and helpful!

So onto the job, Ryan ( the plumber) arrived. Super friendly, professional, ready to get the job done. And not to mention was great with my dogs!!!
He started looking at the problem and knew exactly what to do. He told me, and I was hesitant thinking it would not work because of what the prior plumber had told me a year ago. He assured me, and said "" we are a fix it company, not a sales company ""
I was sold right there. He did exactly that, he fixed it in under an hour, was efficient, and as mentioned before also friendly with my dogs (who wont leave visitors alone)!

I have only worked with one or two other plumbing places in town and as mentioned- I didnt have them do the work, because I knew enough to know there was something to work with, with what I had. And spartan did exactly that, they didnt come in trying to sell me work I didnt HAVE to have done. TThey/ He found a way to fix the problem and fixed it. I also forgot to mention it was very affordable. Actually less than I expected ....

I am a first time home owner, not the most handy, or knowledgeable about plumbing and the such... and always worried about who to call when something goes wrong.
But, I got it right this time, and would most definitely call Spartan again.

So to sum it up : friendly, timely, efficient , affordable, fixed it.

And to also show my fondness of this experience. The plumber left at about noon today, I am not a big yelper. . . but after trying to read thru reviews last night, and an awesome experience today - I wanted to help people find the place to call and show my appreciation towards Spartan.

Dissatisfied - Spartan Plumbing will break your stuff and replace it, but you have to pay them to do it. Their plumbers broke six large tiles around wet bar sink and cracked the formica around the laundry room sink during sink and faucet replacement; also chipped brand new plastic laundry room sink in several places and did poor job of caulking. Plumbers tried to cover chips in laundry room sink with caulking and did not mention that this had happened. I discovered it after they left (and after paying, unfortunately). Spartan reimbursed the cost of the laundry room sink and paid for repair to tile but insisted on charging for the labor, which was over $600 for the plumber and his helper. The helper stood around and watched a good portion of the time. Spartan told me that having a helper is company policy to avoid damage to the sink, which happened anyway. I paid for 6 hours at $50 per hour ($300) for an unnecessary helper and 5.5 hours at $92 per hour ($506) for the main plumber. The total that day was $981.07 and the only satisfactory work that was done was the replacement of the kitchen faucet, which I provided. It took approximately one hour for what should have been one plumber.

I did not believe that I should be charged for labor on the wet bar and laundry room sink/faucet replacements since they caused damage to my two countertops and laundry room sink. I paid our handyman to fix the tile on the wet bar, and although they reimbursed for his labor and the cost of the tile, the price that I paid for the two reckless plumbers for their labor far exceeded the amount that was reimbursed. We were unable to fix the formica in the laundry room and ended up having to replace the entire countertop, for which I did not ask for reimbursement. It is also important to note that the reimbursement did not include the cost to have the sinks and faucets reinstalled by someone else, so I had to pay for that a second time. When I submitted my receipts to Spartan for reimbursement, I had not yet had the sinks and faucets reinstalled and did not think to include it since I figured that Spartan would reimburse me for their labor.

After having to call several times, Spartan mailed me a letter and a check for ""payment in full"" which was less than half of what I expected. I tried to discuss that I should not have to pay them for their labor, but they insisted that because they performed the work that they are entitled to their labor. I had a run around conversation on the phone in which they provided nothing but faulty logic and analogies. They claimed that it was a time and materials job but if it had been a bid job, everything including the labor would have been taken into account. Also, they claimed that it was accidental rather than intentional damage. I would hope that the latter is true and as a customer I do not care what kind of job it was. Also, if they had reinstalled the sink and fixtures at no extra cost to me after the damage to the countertops had been fixed, I would have no problems paying for their original labor costs as billed, but they did not. I paid Spartan and then had to have Granite Planet reinstall the sinks and faucets.

Actually, I ended up paying Granite Planet to redo the tile since the handyman's tiles were not cut as smoothly as they could have been. I was trying to fix in an economical way by having the handyman do it and should have just hired Granite Planet in the first place. However, since it took so long to hear from Spartan, I did not know whether I would be reimbursed by them and wanted to keep costs as low as possible in case I was stuck with the bill. After Spartan refused to reimburse me for their own labor, I asked them to pay the additional $275 extra that Granite Planet charged over what I paid to the handyman to get it done right. That seemed to be a reasonable compromise but they refused. When things go wrong, that is when good companies do what is right. AVOID SPARTAN.

I thought I had a leak with my water heater. Chris their serviceman, came in about an hour. After a diagnosis, he determined that the leak was from the roof when we had the rain storm.

We went up on the roof and found a tear in the roof. He did a quick repair but we agreed that it would need to be looked at by a roofer and they he could not guarantee it. I was happy to just have a patch until I could get someone else to look at it.

He wrote up an estimate for the water heater, which I didn't need. I asked what I owed, and he said nothing. I will definitely be using this company in the future for any plumbing repair or upgrades in the future.

My husband and I were in a very tight fix with our rental property and the water heater that was ready to blow any minute. We are out of town property owners and only had a short window to do repairs and get our property in shape. Mike Mclnnis was referred to me by the Ace Hardware store manager and I called him early Sat. am. Mike came out to the house, assessed the situation with a very old H20 heater and pipes. He was extremely professional, knowledgeable and explained every detail. He had the job finished in the time he predicted, top quality workmanship and very reasonable. He even re-built our vintage Delta kitchen faucet! In a word...Mike is ""Awesome"" and you will not be disappointed in Spartan Plumbing. We have been through a couple and I'm very relieved to have someone we can trust with our property.

We have used Spartan Plumbing 3 times this year, 2 times in the last two weeks, and I can't say enough about their professionalism. They were helpful, affordable, and most importantly, on time! No 4 hour window, no waiting around for them to show up. We asked if they could be there by 8am, and both times they were. Love them! They are now in my contacts list.
