Unprofessional, cheating liars: owner, some office people make this a scary and obnoxious experience. Don't dare ask questions. They threaten to quit mid job. After 11 days I still have no water. HVAC workers are great, though! Jeff the owner said nasty hurtful lies and said I was threatening him when I asked if he was going to care for disabled person. If your furnace or ac needs help consider yourself helped by professional kind employees. The co splits hvac and plumbing. Do NOT use their plumbing arm. Furnace is a big YES

Have to put out a good word for the folks at Southern Lakes. They have provided outstanding service to me and my family over the years but most recently they (Jason in particular) did a fantastic job putting my holding tanks back into service and making a repair!

They have done other plumbing work in my home as well as having installed an additional holding tank and their work is top notch. They are fair in their pricing as well and think you will be very satisfied overall with the service they provide!

Thank you Southern Lakes!

This is my review after building a new house and having Southern Lakes do both HVAC and Plumbing. As a former GC and Executive of a Large Custom Builder in Lake Geneva / North Shore of Chicago and three other States . Do not use them . This is serious as the series of events that we have experianced along with my neighbor in Fontana would have me move to the next choice in plumbing 100%. Yes that is sewage in my new home and the third plumbing event in 45 days with HVAC 100% not working properly after five attempts guest rooms tempeture is 10*-15* off and making rooms extreemly uncomfortable. They also did not use the specs in pre construction managment and layed out the system for additional profitability vs. owner-Mackay Builders pre construction managment. They then told me "" Thats How I would do my home."" 3x and have done nothing to stand up to the work committed to upfront. New owners have no client service foundation and my neighbor at Beartrap at dinner confirmed a similar horror story in the. past year. We both loved Southern Lakes and used them for decades and now it's not the same company, for sure. Too bad as it was the best years back and has only 12 reviews for a reason. With Trucks everywhere pay close attention to the low review volume of a 30 plus year company.

I have used Southern Lakes multiple times for plumbing help and always received fast and friendly service. This week my AC went out, they got a technician out the same day to diagnose the problem and had a part installed the next day. Thank you Southern Lakes, always a great experience!

I would give a zero for service if I could. We have 3 preferred providers our HOA recommends and I chose Southern Lakes, even though they were not the cheapest, to install a humidifier. These people came out and measured the space, and gave me a proposal with 2 choices. I chose the more expensive one, Aprilaire, because I worried the other product, even though it was 50% cheaper, would not be as effective and might have a mold issue down the line. It took 3 weeks for delivery, and when they arrived to install, THE UNIT DIDNT FIT. (Keep in mind, THEY sent a guy out twice to measure.) Somehow this became my fault. I told the installers no harm no foul, and to report back to the office that I approve them ordering the second of the two choices, a Trion Mister. I also called their office and followed up with the same message. Fast forward 5 weeks. I called Southern Lakes to see what date I can expect the install. A nice gentleman answered the phone, couldn't find my file, and forwarded my call to someone named Kathy. Kathy got on the line and simply stated ""We are not able to do an install at this time."". No explanation, no future date, nothing. I asked her to clarify the statement, and she repeated same again. I asked her, ""You can't do the install at this time or ever? And when were you going to tell me this? I have waited 5 weeks."", and she simply repeated that same statement. I expressed my discontent at the very poor service. This Kathy person stated that ""we are family owned and we take pride in what we do"". I explained to her that I too own a business and that this was not good service, and asked to speak to the owner. She claimed she was ""in the owner's family"", would NOT let me speak with the owner, repeated the same statement, and then hung up on me.
Do yourselves a favor: DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. I asked around in my HOA and got rave reviews on local companies 2 Seasons Heating and also HJ Faust, and I know there are other local companies as well. When asking other owners for opinions I heard stories about their issues with service from Southern Lakes as well. Not sure if this company has new owners and maybe that explains the poor service, but quite frankly don't care. Poor service may have flown when there were shortages everywhere but now we have a recession, job layoffs, etc.. Companies are feeling the effects of a slowing economy. No need to use a company like this one. Use a company that appreciates you as a consumer!

I have used this company for both plumbing and heating issues. They are prompt, polite, and reasonable in their prices. I will continue to call Southern Lakes and recommend them to others as needed.

I needed a new water heater. The old water heater was not wanting to go without a fight! The repairman was totally professional and answered quite a few questions I had for him. I am happy I called this company.

I needed a plumber to come in and repair a broken water line. They came same day, within hours, assessed the problem, and completed the repair. Most importantly at a fair price when comparing to other plumbers in the area. Further, other shops will sneak in that second plumber, they won't do much, and you still get charged for them learning. Not these guys! I will definitely use these guys again!!!

Thought I was going with a good honest company but was definitely taken for a ride...

Furnace wasn't working but is only 5 years old, tech came out and started testing things to find the issue and then determined it was the gas valve and went out to his truck to get a new valve.

While he was installing it I asked how much it would cost and wasn't given an answer, I was told he was just testing to see if it was actually the gas valve that needed to be replaced. Then he proceeded to finish the entire job and test it and put the cover on the furnace like it was a done deal! Except that I hadn't even been told how much it would be. Considering the exact ""gas valve"" he replaced costs $69.99 online with free shipping (from a reputable vendor) and he was only there for under an hour, I expected the bill to be around $250, with $100 for the part and $150 for the labor. However, I was greeted with a $365 bill!

If I had been told upfront that I would be charged $365 for him to swap out a simple valve, I would have reconsidered and gotten a quote from another company. However, he never even gave me this option.

This wasn't the worst part though... What came next was.

I asked to speak to a manager and was promptly called by someone from their office. Literally 30 seconds into the conversation I can hear their technician ripping my furnace apart to take the part out of the furnace!!! So, while I am just trying to figure out the bill, this guy is downstairs in my basement ripping the ""newly fixed"" furnace apart again!!! I've never had a company treat me this way and I have to think that this is their tactic to deal with people when they are presented with a bill they are not happy with - because I then had no choice but to have him put it all back together so it was working again because the longer I stayed on the phone the more that was going to be taken apart. It was an extremely stressful situation and it shouldn't have been but the ""manager"" refused to acknowledge the situation in any way and just kept saying their rate is what it is and they don't care if I felt wronged or upset and they didn't care that I wasn't told there was a $85 charge for troubleshooting or that the technician hadn't disclosed the cost before completing the work...

This situation was made 10x worse by the ""manager"" who showed zero consideration for a customer or their issues. In addition, I reached out to them through email and they completely ignored me... I will be telling everyone I know to avoid Southern Lakes Plumbing and Heating because I don't think they care about the customer at all.
