I needed a plumber to come in and repair a broken water line. They came same day, within hours, assessed the problem, and completed the repair. Most importantly at a fair price when comparing to other plumbers in the area. Further, other shops will sneak in that second plumber, they won't do much, and you still get charged for them learning. Not these guys! I will definitely use these guys again!!!

Thought I was going with a good honest company but was definitely taken for a ride...

Furnace wasn't working but is only 5 years old, tech came out and started testing things to find the issue and then determined it was the gas valve and went out to his truck to get a new valve.

While he was installing it I asked how much it would cost and wasn't given an answer, I was told he was just testing to see if it was actually the gas valve that needed to be replaced. Then he proceeded to finish the entire job and test it and put the cover on the furnace like it was a done deal! Except that I hadn't even been told how much it would be. Considering the exact ""gas valve"" he replaced costs $69.99 online with free shipping (from a reputable vendor) and he was only there for under an hour, I expected the bill to be around $250, with $100 for the part and $150 for the labor. However, I was greeted with a $365 bill!

If I had been told upfront that I would be charged $365 for him to swap out a simple valve, I would have reconsidered and gotten a quote from another company. However, he never even gave me this option.

This wasn't the worst part though... What came next was.

I asked to speak to a manager and was promptly called by someone from their office. Literally 30 seconds into the conversation I can hear their technician ripping my furnace apart to take the part out of the furnace!!! So, while I am just trying to figure out the bill, this guy is downstairs in my basement ripping the ""newly fixed"" furnace apart again!!! I've never had a company treat me this way and I have to think that this is their tactic to deal with people when they are presented with a bill they are not happy with - because I then had no choice but to have him put it all back together so it was working again because the longer I stayed on the phone the more that was going to be taken apart. It was an extremely stressful situation and it shouldn't have been but the ""manager"" refused to acknowledge the situation in any way and just kept saying their rate is what it is and they don't care if I felt wronged or upset and they didn't care that I wasn't told there was a $85 charge for troubleshooting or that the technician hadn't disclosed the cost before completing the work...

This situation was made 10x worse by the ""manager"" who showed zero consideration for a customer or their issues. In addition, I reached out to them through email and they completely ignored me... I will be telling everyone I know to avoid Southern Lakes Plumbing and Heating because I don't think they care about the customer at all.

I needed a plumber for a remodeling job. Called 2 local realtors I know and both immediately recommended Southern Lakes. I called them and Jeff came out within days to look at the job and give me a quote. He said they could do the job and he'd get me an estimate within a few days. I never heard from him again. I called several times to follow up and no one returned my calls, not even to say they weren't interested in the job. Waste of my time trying to deal with this company.

I've had nothing but plumbing problems since I bought a new house in Elkhorn and with each of those problems I've had nothing but excellent service with each new plumbing surprise. When toilet number 3 stopped up on a Sunday afternoon I sent my kids looking for an antique chamber pot while I called their emergency dispatch. They showed up and had it fixed before I could explain to my kids what a chamber pot was. And it cost less than the chamber pot (which was sitting on the porch growing begonias. ) the phrase ""you are gonna have to call a plumber"" no longer makes me grip my checkbook with terror and that is something I didn't think was possible.

I live in Fontana, WI, and Southern Lakes has gone out of their way to help me, both with emergency plumbing AND air conditioning situations. They are professional and friendly, return phone calls promptly and will do anything to rearrange technician's schedules to service my needs.

Greg has fixed my garbage disposal on more than one occasion, replaced my toilet and my faucets and he is so neat you never know he was there except everything works and looks great after he leaves!

Bob and Ted both worked on my AC, and fixed two HUGE problems which the previous company, SL's competition, claimed to have addressed...but did not. I paid this outfit thousands of dollars in ""service agreements"" over the years, but after Bob and Ted diagnosed the problems and fixed them. It was obvious the other company did not do any servicing at all! Like Greg, Bob and Ted were friendly, professional, and prompt.

Quality Service, Integrity, and Value! I highly recommend Southern Lakes!

It is so wonderful when you find a company with high standards and high integrity! We love this company for all of our plumbing and heating needs -from the ladies in the office to the service team. They are fairly priced, do a great job, are clean and neat, but the part I appreciate the most is their honesty. Unlike other heating companies we have used, they do not try to upsell anything and everything! And that is very much appreciated when maintaining three properties. Thank you Southern lakes, you guys are great!

Have you ever been without hot water? How about without hot water and they have to order a part? Well, that was me. Greg came not only once, but twice once the part came in. I will get the longest shower tonight and be thankful for Southern Lakes Plumbing!!! Super fast response time and super fast return the next day. I am forever grateful!!!

Recently during the -30 degree spell the heat in my store in Lake Geneva went out.
I contacted Southern Lakes and they were on site quickly and had the repair done. I was shocked at the quality of service from when Denise answered the call, to when the technician arrived. They made a trying situation quite bearable. And I was shocked at how reasonable the fees were with no ""gouging"" or upcharges.
I would highly recommend this firm. And as a business owner and homeowner in the area, am glad I found this excellent resource.

Normally do not do these reviews online but had to in this case. I live in Elkhorn and had a very small project which I felt I could do on my own. Had a couple of questions. Called Southern Lakes and was told no plumbers were currently in but they would transfer me to line where I could leave a message. Left the message and within 5 minutes I received a return call. Jeff took a few minutes and answered my questions. I did not need a plumber this time but I sure will call them when I do. Wow!
