In the year 1994, Ira Preuett established Southern Air Heating & Cooling with just a lone truck. The commercial they continously run is SO annoying it is the number one reason I will never use this company again. If that little bratty kid screams at me day after day I will turn off the volume and call anyone other than this company. Whoever gave the stamp of approval for that should be fire! Please for sanity sake get a different ad!

Unethical! Told my elderly parents that their 7-year-old unit (Trane) was unable to be fixed, the condenser coil needed to be replaced, and could not be cleaned. The coil alone would cost $5000, and it would not be compatible with a new unit when one is needed in 3-4 years. Advised that they should replace everything, quoted $14,000 for a mid-level unit for a 1300 sq ft home. My parents are not wealthy and it stressed them greatly. They thought they would have to use my father's funeral fund! Called Advanced AC and it cost $75 to clean the condenser coil. Problem solved. Completely unethical and cruel.

we just had a southern air checkup and it was great red dacota allman.
we will think about getting our ducts blown out next we just need to come up with some more money.

If you have ANY heating, cooling, electrical, or plumbing needs....use ANYONE other than Southern Heating and Air. You're better off doing it yourself.
I will make it my MISSION to tell anyone and everyone I know to NEVER use your company. You are THE WORST!!!

Update: after a week. I still never received a call. Some more specific issues aside from leaving a leaking gas line, and giving me an attitude about it, simple things like putting the screws back in my vent covers would have been nice. Putting the smoke alarm back up they knocked down would have been nice. Putting the fence around my a/c unit that they tossed to the side would have been nice. Not putting the condensation line directly over my patio door would have been nice. And of course, not leaving a leaking gas line would have been nice as well. I strongly do not recommend Southern Heating and air. Like I said below, I had their membership service over a decade, and put a new chiller, and furnace in with them 2 years ago. Their motto, ""fixed right or it's free"" is a bold face lie. I never asked for my money back, but they did a pretty lousy job.
Jimmy did the job right and I would give him specifically 5 stars, however, I have had numerous issues with Southern over the last 2 years. Not everything was the fault of Southern or their technicians, like a weird smelling A/C coils, however, what was in their control, like scheduling, and not rushing they failed at. Technicians were out on Wednesday to replace the smelly coils, and soldered in a copper line. They say that they didn't touch the gas line, but that night, the line that they were soldering less than 2 feet from was leaking and if not noticed, I wouldn't be writing this as I would be ashes. Jimmy came and fixed it, but there is no way it wasn't from the Technicians from Wednesday. We have been members of their program over a decade, had a full system replaced, but it looks like their better days are behind them.

We have used Southern air twice. The first time they fixed a broken duct in our AC. We paid for a monthly subscription that is supposed to include additional services besides AC. Last week, we contacted them to help us repair or replace a broken dishwasher. The first time they didn't show and they called us hours after our appointment to tell us they weren't coming. I got no response to the email I sent, then they called and said they were going to show the following day. They did not show nor did we receive a call or email saying why. We followed up with a different provider as a result.
Either they are severely short staffed, or they really don't care about our business. Be leery.

Horrible experience!!!!!! I was in need of ac maintenance. My home warranty had assigned a company that said I needed a regular maintenance to my system which regular maintenance is not included under home warranty. I wholeheartedly understood and. Realized I need to get a company on my own and schedule twice a year for maintenance and pay out of my pocket. I called this joke of a company not once but twice and told them my story and they kept saying they do not accept home warranty. I understand that, I'm not trying to use or have anything to do with my home warranty. I want to schedule maintenance directly with you and have a check up yearly and pay the fee!!! They kept refusing my service and saying they don't take home warranty. Absolutely absurd!!!!!! With that type of stupidity I don't know how they have a high ranking. Luckily I called Moore Ac and they were nice and friendly and now have me on a yearly schedule of $169/ year with 10% discount off other services. CALL THEM NOT THIS HORRIBLE INCOMPETENT COMPANY.

Would recommend a checklist of all items to go over and have inspected, prior to work being initiated.
I have been dealing with service calls and follow-up on items needing work that was supposedly good but after a year the ""Opps moments"" are not pleasant and only frustrating. I was advised items were pre-existing and Can not assist.
What does that mean if a new system was installed?
The pre-exiting system was replaced with a new system so you would thing to verify all items are in good condition rather than replacing items as they occurring.
Office Personnel Customer Service needs improvement as mistakes happen and a year to 5 year installation should not have any issues. If anything you may want to ensure you get all service and maintenance in black and white as you work hard to have cool air and heat without thinking you got a Lemon of service and deal.

Heating service was good when I used them. They replaced a few parts and got it working fine. The plumbing service was too high and they didn't complete the work around the shower/tub they put in. I had no idea that they would cut out the old one and put in a new one but leave a hole all the way around in my sheet rock. For the price they charged it should have all been done. Also the shower kit was too small and the shower head is mounted on the wall above the kit. Really looks strange. Will never use them again.

They always provide exceptional service. Their employee are very knowledgeable and well trained. They won't try to sell you a service or product you don't need, which is a great quality in a service company. they have serviced my AC for the past 2 years and I'm on the service plan. 5 stars for Southern Air.
