When our plumber no longer serviced our area we were very happy to find this local South Hills plumbing service. When we called they were able to come out in a timely manor (within a day or two) and that day within the timeframe they said. We had a drip in our master bath shower and they were able to replace the entire shower system. They gave great advice for finding and installing a new showerhead (not the basic one that comes with their kit). We also had a piece of our dishwasher that needed to be replaced which they were able to do. The prices are very reasonable, the service men are friendly and followed all of the proper Covid-19 protocols.

HORRIBLE SERVICE.Horrible. DON'T USE THEM!
Hired them and after 2 hours they said they couldn't open the drain. Still they want to charge almost 400.
They are a fraud! Don't use them!!

Definitely won't use again. We bought an old house and had brand new central heating and cooling installed. After just 1 full summer, the cooling wasn't working. It was running constantly, the house wasn't cooling, and our electricity bill was through the roof. They came to take a look at it, said it needed a ""tune up"" and we paid $149 for them to top off the freon. It didn't make any sense to me because it was a very expensive unit and was brand new. The technician told me that they just don't make these units like they used to and we should do a ""tune up"" every year. The beginning of the next summer, it wasn't working at all. We had them back again. They said the Freon was low again. I argued about the need for another tune up. It just didn't make sense for such an expensive new unit. They found there was a leak in the coil. Since it was still under warrantee, we didn't have to pay for the new coil. It took weeks for the coil to come. They came and replaced the coil. We paid $280 for a few hours of labor. The technician said ""I found the leak...there was a screw through the line"" This is an exact quote. When I told my husband about this, he thought we shouldn't have to pay for any of this. Obviously, we didn't put a screw through the coil. Either the company did it with the install or the manufacturer had a faulty product. When he called the company, they called me a liar. I am pretty upset. I feel like we were ""had"" and lied to over the past few years. I feel stupid for not asking more questions along the way. I did not record our conversation, and I did not keep the bad coil. I have no evidence to support what I KNOW happened and the truth of what happened. Even more than the money we have paid to this company, this is about the integrity of the company and taking advantage of people.

I never like writing these reviews, because they're the costly and not fun experiences, but they're so useful. Our heater went out during an unlikely spring cold spell and we also have a baby, so it was not a good combo.

It was a Friday and I was a little worried we were going to be cold all weekend long. They returned the call quickly, came over and gave us a temporary fix and ordered our new heater to be ready Monday. Everything was super easy, including the installation process.

I really liked that they were so prompt and communicative. The dude I was working with would text me updates or respond to questions I have. I like when home service people text, because it's just easier than waiting for a call back.

While this wasn't a cheap repair, I do think they're fair. Not cheap, but not crazy expensive or even try to up-sell you. If I need heating or plumbing service again (hopefully not soon) they will be my first call.

These guys are the real deal.

I called about a leak in my expansion tank for my baseboard heat. Fred was incredibly professional and made important suggestions for what were very necessary upgrades that the previous homeowner had neglected. I didn't once feel like I was getting upsold or that he was ripping me off.

Then the actual service call? On time, on budget and were in and out at lightning speed. If anything else ever goes wrong, I know who I'm calling first.

Really great service. They are my go to now for plumbing and heating. They recently put in a new furnace and have been fast and courteous every time I've needed them.

Furnace died the day before temp was predicted to plunge. Made the call, had a professional at my place in 30 minutes. They were professional, and courteous. Removed old furnace, replaced with a new one. When they were finished, I'd never have known they were there, they worked very clean. Gave me a rundown of the new equipment after installation. Also had a utility sink faucet replaced in the same visit. These guys are great, give them a call.

I recently used South Hills Heating and Plumbing for removal and replacement of a water heater. Fred was very friendly on the phone. His price was fair and comparable to other firms. I always prefer to use a local business, and they did not disappointment. Called at 10 a.m. with a leaking water heater, the crew of 2 arrived by 2 p.m., and were done by 3:30. They left everything the way they found it, and hauled the old heater away. Thanks for great service. We will be calling you again, but hopefully not too soon!

South Hills Plumbing is an absolutely amazing plumbing and heating company. They have been servicing my house for 10 years while I've been an owner, and umpteen years before that. They also work with everyone else I know in my neighborhood, Beechview. They are very affordable and fair. They are trustworthy - I let them in my house while I'm not there, and my dogs love them.

They never fail to respond immediately to a problem, and we have the same plumber team every time, who know our house inside and out and gives us the best recommendations, and goes out of their way to help us out. They have got us out of many tight jams!

Their service is above and beyond what is normally expected, and I can't recommend them enough. I especially want to highlight the great work that Tom and Jay do. Kudos!
