Negative stars. They are inexpensive in comparison to other plumbing companies in the area, but to be honest South County Plumbing isn't worth a penny -- I would never hire them again, not even if they worked for free. Save your money, your time and avoid one of the biggest headaches you'll ever have -- DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY. Otherwise you'll regret, same as everyone who left a review for them. I am still waiting for them to send me a refund, believe it or not they charged me for something that wasn't even completed and the only thing they did finish wasn't done well. Look somewhere else!

Here is what happened. First about maybe 2 years back Kevin, who is the owner came to our home per our Fidelity Home Warranty contract to repair a leaky toilet. He did a great job and I found him very friendly.
Now, as of December 2018. Our home has a basement which includes bedroom, laundry and bathroom. Because of this we have a in ground sewage ejector in a tank that pumps up all sewage to the main sewer line in our home.
Our ejector pump or float was not working correctly as I was hearing a electric motor humming sound and noticed some water sitting on the tank lid. I suspected that maybe the pump was stuck so I shut off the circuit breaker and turned it back on and then the pump worked. Then we called Fidelity Home Warranty and they had Kevin come out to look at it. I thought we were both on the same understanding that it was either the pump or float valve. He left saying he would put in a request for a new pump. A day later I get a call from Fidelity stating that Kevin wanted a second opinion because he thought it might me electrical. Well of course both the pump and float are electrical , they both plug into a outlet, but you still need to remove the plumbing piping. After having to wait about two days to have a 3 way phone conversation with him, me and a Fidelity rep Kevin still thought a second opinion was necessary. At this point both The Fidelity Rep and I agreed that Kevin did not really want to do the job. He basically wasted our time. Fidelity home warranty told us to find another plumber who could work on sewage ejectors AND low and behold that was easy.
We found another plumber who came out , I explained what had happened with Kevin and he said REALLY? The guy couldn't do this himself?
So Kevin its time for you to retire. Your inability to perform a pretty easy task after watching our new plumber do the replacement repair shows me you should not be a plumber anymore. You wasted our time Kevin and deceived me and Fidelity.

I was referred to South County Plumbing by Fidelity Home Warranty for a leaking water heater. At the initial visit, the technician broke our gate valve resulting in us having to switch off the water main to our house. There was NO running water to our house for close to two weeks. When it came time to schedule the hot water heater replacement, I had to repeatedly call and didn't receive an answer. Lastly, and worst of all, they DID NOT SHOW UP when they were supposed to replace the heater. We wasted a day of waiting, and will now be going with another plumber outside of the home warranty because we just want it done and done correctly. Recommend avoiding this company at ALL costs.

-zero stars.
Never, have I dealt with such dishonest people. I was promised our permit, that we paid this company $250 along with a LOT of money to replace our water heater.
I was promised, by Anna, I would have my permit the following business day. That was well over a month ago, and we never got it.
Our attorney sent them a letter. They have not responded.
So, now we report them to the Plumber's board AND have to sue them because we are liable for not having permit.
Crooks! Totally feel robbed. Run from this company as fast as you can.

We had a leaking laundry sink so we called our home warranty company. These plumbers called us within 1 hour to schedule an appt - awesome! The guy who showed up was very nice. He came, assessed the problem and said he had to order a faucet. Ok. I called them 4 days later and was told that they were waiting for authorization from our home warranty company to purchase a new faucet. Fine, but I wish they had communicated this with me rather than have me call to find out what's going on.

The next Tuesday (over a week after the assessment), I called the home warranty company and asked why the approval for a new faucet was taking so long. They said it was approved and the plumber should be calling us to schedule a time to replace it. I then called the plumber and left a message that the part had been approved, to please let me know when they can come back out. Heard nothing back. Four days later (now it's almost 2 weeks), I called AND texted. Nothing.

That evening I called the home warranty company and told them to assign me a new plumber because this one was non-responsive. I got assigned a new one and he came out right away to replace the faucet - without getting the so-called authorization from the home warranty company. Ironically, South County Plumbing called me on the same day to schedule the install. I just laughed and said I've already cancelled their service for not returning my messages.

I have never posted a positive review about a business that did not do actual work for me, but this company went out of its way for me and I need to return the favor.

I had water seeping up my floorboards and after eliminating all the obvious water sources, feared a slab leak. I submitted the claim to my home warranty company and they assigned South County Plumbing.

I looked up the company's yelp reviews and cringed with some of the negative reviews. I called the company and eventually got through to one of the owners (I believe her name is Ana).

I described my situation and Ana told me that I needed a leak detection specialist, that her company was not that kind of specialist since it did not have the needed equipment, and that a visit by her company would be a waste of time as she would just have to report a specialist is needed. I told her my home warranty company told me they were assigning a leak detection specialist.

Since time was a factor with a possible ongoing slab leak, Ana told me that she would contact my home warranty company to make sure they understood my situation and assign the appropriate specialist. Within an hour of that conversation, I got a call from my home warranty company saying that they could not find an appropriate specialist, that I was free to hire one on my own, and that I would be reimbursed according my policy limits.

I was able to hire a leak detection specialist, which actually was not as good as they claimed to be, but eventually got the job done. Turns out, I had a drain line leak which meant opening up a wall, but was not as bad as a slab leak.

I cannot thank Ana enough for her help making a nightmare situation more manageable.

To start I had to call them to set up appointment & was told someone will be put between 7am-9am & 9:30 am rolled around & nothing so I called & was told she was about to call me because he was running behind & should be at my house by 11am once again 1230pm rolled around & nothing then I called again & was told he was an hour away then he did show up....technician informed me that we needed new water heater & only a few modifications needed since our current one was only about 6 years old..well I called there office a few times & never got response until my warranty called me (AHS) and informed me of my ""non covered charges"" that were ridiculous so I asked if they do comparable pricing or do they base off what is sent to them & I was told they base what is sent to them..so my question is how do they know if charges are correct!! So we got second opinion & was told that plumbing company is pulling our leg..and overcharging for items needed then I requested a detail invoice from plumbing company & after asking for it twice they finally sent to me & I almost fell off my chair seeing what they are going to collect from home warranty...so we asked for cash out option from our warranty & if that doesn't work we will ask for another plumbing company...I feel south county plumbing is a little shady...hard to get a hold of...they literally never answer there phone or return any messages..I will never use them again...

They were quick to setup a time to look at my water heater. They gave me a 2 hour window but never showed up. No one picked up the phone at the office and I never got a call telling me they couldn't make the time or would be late. Can't vouch for anyone that doesn't respect my time

They were assigned a home warranty repair by Fidelity. They're supposed to call and schedule the date/time by the next day. I never received a call. A few days later, I called them with no answer. After 7 days, I asked Fidelity to assign to contractor with at least 4 Yelp stars, which fortunately they did (and that experience was great).
