We bought a house, and the previous owners had used Sheldon for many years, so we figured we'd give them a try. The first attempt was when we needed a new dishwasher installed. At first the guy was very quick to respond, but when we were about to set an appointment he just wouldn't get back to me. Texts and phone calls yielded nothing. We went elsewhere.

Lastly, we had an issue with our hot water, so again I decided to give Sheldon a try since he's worked on our furnance many times over the years. He called right back, we talked about my needs and he agreed to stop over the next day. What he didn't tell me was that he would be bringing another guy which was not agreed upon. Long story short a quick cleaning and small part replacement cost $400...AND he said I'd need to get him back in the winter to do more work. No thanks...I'll look for another plumber who doesn't take me for a ride.

My husband and I had been customers of Sheldon's Plumbing and Heating for many years and were always happy with this company. Unfortunately, I can't get this company to come to my home anymore.

Horrible company. Called to get an estimate and was told to send pictures that they didn't need to come by. was told cost would be 1640 no more no less, and they could do it the necr day. He said he would call me and hour before he got to my house so I could have time to leave work. I sent pictures and got no response so I Texted the next morning to see if we were still on because I had no response. Never heard back. I got a call at the end of the day they were in my driveway with the hot water heater so I left work. They brought electric hot water heater and I had indirect previously. They convinced me I would want the electric anyways and it would be a really good switch. They charged another 450 to covert. when they left I had no lights in my house so they had to come back. I called a few weeks later to let them know I was not happy and wanted to go back to what I had and they said they would take the new hybrid hot water heater I just paid them 1900 for and put in the indirect oil hot water tank like I had previously for another $3,100. Complete rip off. They Wanted my electric hot water heater to re sell as new which is illegal for a plumber to do even if it's only used a few days. Then come to find out they took the circulator and relay control when they were only supposed to take the old hot water heater. I thought this company would be legit and trust worthy as I got their info from efficiency maine website. They are not.

Contacted about a job & was told we couldn't be given a quote until they saw the place, which was fine. After their initial look around they still didn't give a quote. Due to time crunch I didn't have a chance to ask (again) for a quote after they had already started work.

It wasn't until they were done that we were given an astronomically inflated bill, and were threatened by the younger employees who refused to leave the property until they received a check. They didn't care how we got the money, they just wanted it, immediately. They didn't even finish the work - saying they they would come back later to finish because they needed to know what parts the needed for an appliance of ours that was delayed in its delivery. Even after we provided the exact specifications for the part they refused to return to finish the work until it had been delivered. Now that it HAS been delivered, the owner has been incredibly nasty to us, screaming at us over the phone that he ""doesn't have time"" to come finish the job.

Not getting a firm quote prior to the work beginning was partly on us - but the owner of CZ plumbing is also at fault for taking advantage of the situation and very obviously using us as a means to line his pockets. Now that he's been paid and we're no longer his cash-grab he's acting completely unprofessionally. We're horribly disappointed with this company and will be looking elsewhere for someone to finish the work that still needs to be done.

I cannot recommend CZ Plumbing. They came to my house to help with my shower. I needed some more professional work done that I wasn't comfortable doing myself. Zack came in and said he didn't like the brand of valve I had in there and recommended that I replace it with his preferred brand and quoted me a price of $500 for the fixture. I explained that I just couldn't afford that at this time. His attitude changed and he did a minimal job of poor quality. I received attitude for pointing out that one of the things I asked to be done wasn't done.
I didn't complain. I was grateful that they returned my call that 10 other plumbers didn't and I was hoping that CZ Plumbing would be a company I could rely on in the future. However, I contacted the other partner, Chuck, with a question and, if necessary, to schedule another appointment. His response was that it was recommended that I should have let them swap out the fixture and ""good luck"" because they don't work on ""junk.""
Evidently, they are interested in pushing their preferred brands at over-inflated prices and definitely not interested in repeat business.
I'm just glad that all I had to pay was $200 for sub-par work and the lesson that this is not a company I want to deal with ever again.
The other person, Brian, that came to my house with Zack, seems like a decent guy. Hopefully, he can associate himself with a better company in the near future.
Additionally, a day later, when I told Chuck that his snarky response to my question was not appreciated, I got a message back from CZ Plumbing: ""You need to watch your mouth. We really don't like working in shithole dumps for idiots like you."" I didn't demand that they come make it right, I didn't ask for a refund, I didn't stop-payment on my check. I paid them as soon as they said they were done and took them at their word. Unfortunately, they don't understand how necessary good customer service is. So, be warned. Unprofessional in pretty much every sense of the word. Also, I looked all over and could not find a shower fixture for my situation that came even close to $500 so, I'm doubly glad I didn't give them the go-ahead and get ripped off for even more money.

We have a summer home that was purchase recently in Naples, and needed a plumber for a few minor/major repairs. Called about 12 plumbers in the area and couldn't get one to respond. Even had a plumber recommended by the realtor, which has the worst customer service I've EVER dealt with absolutely terrible.
Called CZ Plumbing and Chuck responded immediately even being extremely busy, he responded and came to check out what is needed. This right is only for the customer side of things right and there will be another one after the job is done. Just so thankful I at least got a positive response from someone. Customer service wise, CZ is a 10 Plus in my book.

We recently bought a house and had two issues that came along with it that we discovered over the first month of being there. We had a leaky knob that fed our dishwasher in the basement - not urgent but needed to be addressed. The other - our bathtub/shower. Upon turning that on, there was a steady leak coming from the faucet knob which would slowly seep into an area that wasn't sealed off properly (and get our drywall all wet).

I called these guys up and left a voicemail about a day and a half ago. They called back this morning and came out within a few hours to repair both the issues. Pricing seemed pretty on par with others that I had talked to. These guys are also recommended through Angies list too, so I felt pretty confident with dealing with them. With two locations out of S. Portland and Topsham, they should be able to take care of mid-coast to southern Maine pretty easily. Overall no complaints - I'd recommend!

I've used them on several projects and planning to use them again soon. Have had them replace fixtures in bathroom, move washer hookup to 1st floor and replace a couple faucets. They've been very good and reasonable. This page says South Portland, but are out of Topsham I think.
